If all else fails, you can try to reinstall BoE in a diffent directory. It's not like leaving the old installation on your hard drive will hurt anything. BoE doesn't take up all that much space at all.

Post-A3 Valorim sounds great to me as well. I think I would probably live in Krizsan. Of all the cities in Valorim, that seems the nicest. Shayder had the creepy Anama. Sharimik has the power-hungry mayor. Lorelei seemed too built-up for my tastes, and Gale had all that skribbane.

You could always just get the reg codes, then put the game on cd. I have all of the games on one cd that way.

6,000 posts, that's quite an accomplishment. You're only 1,500 away from Your Postliness.

EDIT: Not that it matters with a custom title of course.

It seems to me that this has been discusseed a few times before. There really isn't a way to make a Nethergate 2. I mean, the story was pretty much final. A new game done in the style of Nehtergate would be interesting though.

Personally, I think this forum should stay where it is. I mean, look at the posting acitvity on the SubTerra forum compared to that of this one. Obviously the Richard White Games are more popular then SubTerra. However, as a Windows user, I don't really know much about these games, so for all I know SubTerra could be superior to The Richard White games by leaps and bounds.

Don't forget the Native Americans. There could be some of them on this board. Of course, even the Aborignees and Natvie Americans were not orginally from Australia aand America, but that's a whole other debate.

I use lots of different things. i use BitTornado for all my bit torrent downloads, but for regular P2P searches, I use, in order, LimeWire, Morpheus, and eMule. I used to use Win MX from time to time before it got shut down.

EDIT:

IIRC, a lot of people use p2p clients to download various distributions of Linux. Like a lot of things, p2p clients are only as evil as the user.
Lots of other open source programs and freeware are also available through P2P networks. I get most of my software for Linux of bit torrent.

Hi, I'm Tyranicus. I don't remember you because I've only been around here for a few weeks, but I'm planning on staying for quite a while, so you'll probably see me around. Welcome back, and in case you picked it back up while you were away, leave your sanity at the door.

EDIT: I'm curious. Why did you leave?

As much as i love Half-Life and hate Myst, i really wonder about comparing them like this. Isn't it an apples and oranges thing? I mean, you can't compare a strategy puzzle game with an FPS. They're not in the same category at all. I'll freely admit that Myst is a good game too. i just don't care for that kind of game.

According to Schrodinger's FAQ, you step on the tiles like this:

1 _ _
_ 2 6
5 3 4

Switching places with the other characters in your party does not set off the buttons.

It seems to me that I got through there as a singleton though, but I can't figure out for the life of me how I did it.

This has been discussed a few times, and no, Jeff has no plans to make an Exile 4. The Avernum series was an update to the Exile series, and there are no plans to go back to Exile.

You have to weave in and out around the posts to avoid setting off hidden buttons that close the gates. It took me forever to get through that one too.

EDIT: I can't believe that i actually had 'pust' up instead of 'posts' for over a day without noticing. I hate typos and when I see that I've made one, I instinctively correct it.

Erika's Tower is actually under siege by empire forces in Avernum 2.

I don't have the Empire Crystal Soul Scroll, though, so I can't sneak into the back of Pyrog's lair. How do I get that scroll?
It's been a while, so I'm not quite sure what you're talking about, but as far as i remember, everything you need to get into Pyrog's Lair is in the Empire Archives on an island in the Central Sea.

EDIT: Oh yeah! Now I remember. You get the evidence in Fort Dolthar where you go to kill Limoncelli. I'm pretty sure it's on an island somewhere as well. I'm not quite sure where, but you could try checking Schrodinger's FAQ at http://www.geocities.com/zeviz1/ That usually can tell you all the things you need to go to get to places.

I heartily agree. Half-Life has a more detailed plot than any other FPS, albeit a weird one. What I thought was awesome was when they came out with Opposing Force and Blue Shift. Playing a game in the same situation from different viewpoints is pure genius.
