I have no idea if this can be done and I've only played around with BoA editor using the demo. But I would of hoped there was a much more "user friendly" interface when it came to editing and creating the basics such as monsters, items and such, similiar to what was in BoE. Just as someone new to the editor it gets alittle daunting when all this needs to be written in somewhere. If this is available it seems to be incredibly hard to find and not very obvious. Sorry if this isn't relevant as I see most of these posts are about adding new scripts in. But I thought I'd at least make my suggestion. -------------------- Fine Meal is people!!! Also, though I don't know your experience making scenerios Wise One, anything 'sequal' size probley isn't a good start. I planned my scenerio out to be about 4x5 outdoor sections (most of those wont be used since its based in a mountain pass), 1 town and around half a dozen dungeons. Just saying try something smaller first. -------------------- Fine Meal is people!!! Posts: 289 | Registered: Saturday, February 16 2002 08:00 |

From the few things I can tell from Avernum is that several Vampires enjoy the challenge of a hunt, the more powerful they are the more powerful their prey needs to be (richer blood in Heroes or something?). I think that just goes along with the typical vampiric arrogance of being better the mortals. But yeah theres tonnes of fiction you could use, Warhammer had it that vampires where originally from an ancient human culture that degraded into necromancy and death worship, certain individuals began drinking elixirs of blood that prolonged life, as time went on they became addicted and yeah, turned into vampires. They also had it that as vampires grew in power they became more resilent to the common weaknesses (garlic and stuff) and where able to summon up dark storm heads or darkness to protect them from sunlight during the day. So yeah, just whatever you like basicly... -------------------- Fine Meal is people!!! Posts: 289 | Registered: Saturday, February 16 2002 08:00 |

My idea for a scenerio (when I can finally get BoA) was a mission by a small band of Empire soldiers on the surface during A2. Where the majority of troops are down in Avernum leaving only a few stragglers to look after home. -------------------- Fine Meal is people!!! I just noticed Void that you say that my Ice Demon monster is just a colour change with an original death pose, thats half right. Its actually an original graphic, just compare it to any of the other demons (just clearing that up) -------------------- Fine Meal is people!!! I only know of a few oldies, Albion was a great rpg. Castle of the Winds and Rangarok/Valhalla have Exile style graphics and can be fun. Hmmm ... the Ultima series? Lands of Lore (the original one). Some of those are now freeware, but most of those are pretty rare, but if you can find them. -------------------- Fine Meal is people!!! Posts: 289 | Registered: Saturday, February 16 2002 08:00 |

If you ask me, it's some kind of alien symbiote and those goats are really part of an alien invasion force. Or maybe its some sort of spikey armour shoulder pad ....... used in battle by evil alien goat invaders. -------------------- Fine Meal is people!!! Yes there is a weight limit to what you can carry, I found in A3 though that I kept reaching the inventory limit before the weight limit, unlike in A1 and A2. I know their is some kind of encumberance, it could be from wearing armour thats to heavy for your character. I think beta testing is alot harder work then most people think, if you do it properly. But nevermind, you know better for the next time you want to beta test a game. -------------------- Fine Meal is people!!! Posts: 289 | Registered: Saturday, February 16 2002 08:00 |

Well I suppose the Mac users wouldnt get an unfair headstart on scenerio creation, and the windows users wont complain that they have to wait extra long. But I suppose if the Mac version does come out first their might be a couple of scenerios made by the time the windows one comes out. Then again most of us will probley want to play the 4 scenerios first. But then again I dont know, might of just been a typo. -------------------- Fine Meal is people!!! Actually one thing I just noticed about new interface is that the characters 'Info' button is now a 'Train' button, does this mean characters will be able to train anywhere and the old trainer rooms will be gone? or has Jeff simply not got round to that part yet? *has mixed feelings if it is using the Geneforge system* -------------------- Fine Meal is people!!! Looks like an interesting addition to the 3 scenerios. There is some interesting features that you can make use of like the cat chasing the cat. I wonder if the editor has both the 2d view and a 3d view for editing, even if its just as a sort of 'preview' feature. Hope we dont have to add a 2d view of custom terrian too. -------------------- Fine Meal is people!!! Posts: 289 | Registered: Saturday, February 16 2002 08:00 |

Thought I had read him saying that Drakefyre. Which should be plenty for even the epic scenerios (if people ever manage to finish them). Or for one of my earlier ideas about having random dungeons. But still the linked scenerios could be something to look at when BoA comes out. Keep, I think its mainly the difficulty and time of programming that would stop Jeff from trying unlimited stuff, but im pretty new to programming my self. -------------------- Fine Meal is people!!! Reading over the FAQ again and looking at Jeff explaining why he wants to limit scenerios to 100 towns. Would it be a possibility to have a sort of scenerio hub?. Where you could link several of your scenerio's to this hub scenerio. Something like when you get on a boat, a teleporter or go through a mountain pass it will load up the linked scenerio (or if you havent downloaded it you get a message like "the pass has been blocked by land slides, download scenerio C to clear it" etc). Or will scenerios only be able to be a series, one directly after the other. Im not sure if my idea would work because im not sure how special items and abilities will be kept track of from scenerio to scenerio (if they can be kept track of that is) -------------------- Fine Meal is people!!! I guess Jeff thought bashing weapons didnt have anything different to offer compared to swords and pole weapons. But if he does add in bashing graphics I have some ready for use in the lourve. -------------------- Fine Meal is people!!! Posts: 289 | Registered: Saturday, February 16 2002 08:00 |

What about general items such as potions, scrolls, wands and of course valuables (jeweled rings, silver cups etc) would there be a way to have a thief randomly pluck one of these from your adventurers inventories? -------------------- Fine Meal is people!!!
