Well if you have a copy of Blades of Exile they have a pic of it. So far its a big red muscular creature, the face is dark with hornes, demonic like. In its standard pose its crouched down, one claw to the ground in a ready to pounce pose.

In its attack pose its raised up to its full height (bigger then an ogre)slashing with its claws.

The legs jointed (like a demons) which makes it tricky to draw from behind.

No, the problem is more that I can't think of the shape of the back. Possibly what Avernum monster would look closest to it from behind.

I've got the Blood Beast 1/3 finished. Having trouble thinking how to draw its shiny red behind (the north and west facings), so if anyone has any ideas for that.

Once I've done that I'll package it up with some of my old ones (another hand drawn monster, two edited monsters and some edited items) and send it to you TM.

It looks quite good actually.

Possibly you could have the lamp on a more pedestal type feature. But it looks good as is if you ask me.

I'll probley have it sitting next to my image and using it as a colour pallete sort of thing (what I do when I want an icy colour effect, grab an ice pudding, fur colour, grab a rat, etc) Other then that I try and make my graphics from scratch. (with a few early exceptions)

Wish me luck.

I've considered making a Blood Beast (based on the BoE one) and sending that in lately. Hopefully I'll have time ... would that be an original graphic or not though?

Is there a way to make it that using such things as candles/torches/lamps or the light spell would attract attention? forcing your group to sneak around in the dark maybe?

I always thought it was the other way around, as jpg's are used for pictures with numerous colours while gif's where used for minimal colours.

Im guessing the graphics are shared publicly, these contests are usually used to get artists to start pumping out graphics to use. Which is a good idea.

Well the one we have for uni is 'C++ How to Program' however it comes with MS Visual C++, so im not sure of its use when programming on a Mac, but I'd believe the examples of the language would be usable on both OS's, possbly with a few changes.

Sorry I couldn't be more help.
