Despite the likelyhood that this was to coincide with the G8 conference, which, I will add, pulled several thousand police officers to Gleneagles, depleting one area's police force, by half, we were overdue. I mean no offence to the victim's families, but to be perfectly honest, we've been expecting this for years. In recent memory, though I may be wrong, the last terrorist action in London was the nail bomb, in Soho, years ago and that was by the IRA. We were seriously overdue a rebuke relating to backing the "war on terror". Strong similarities were drawn to the Madrid bombings. While the actual size of the bombs were different, they were both on four forms of public transport, though, in that case, all trains. Similarities have also been drawn to information gained from preliminary examinations of the bomb debris. As it has already been pointed out, though, in a city of nine million permanent residents and a booming tourist trade, it is impossible to guard from every threat. What will be the telling thing is any possible action that might be taken, after the fact. -------------------- Aut Tace Aut Loquere Meliora Silencio Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

Aye. I found the game, I found the website, I posted for help, I read the rest, I came, I saw, I posted viciously, because I was bored. Then I found other things to do. Then I came back, because I was bored. Rather vicious cycle. -------------------- Aut Tace Aut Loquere Meliora Silencio Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

*Raises an eyebrow at the reasonably unecessary double-posting* *Shrugs* If the pre-primary is any indication, then I think I might be able to say one thing - despite that the majority of candidates are equally able to moderate well, including myself, who wants the votes that I might receive, as the phrase "Unlikely" comes to mind? Just razzing, of course. -------------------- Aut Tace Aut Loquere Meliora Silencio Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

Spain's okay, I guess. A little too warm for me, though. I guess that's just the UK climate conditioning me to be used to the cold, though. Or maybe I'm just secretly a big reptile, in disguise... It is often better to not announce your comings and goings. For a start, if you're the sort that comes and goes, alot, you look like a wanton river troll. Also, if mods and admins announced their comings and goings, you'd know you'd see... interesting topics pop-up. Everyone loves Google and since when was it strange that Jewels was truly, madly and rather deeply infatuated with TM and his paedophilic ways? -------------------- Aut Tace Aut Loquere Meliora Silencio Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

I don't really spam, any more. Well, I don't think I do. I didn't notice it back then and if I still do it, I don't notice it, now. I don't know what my most posts in a day was. Probably about 15-20. I could manage more, but then again, I also like having a life outside of an internet forum... Basically, while I could spend a couple of hours to set a new post-per-day record, that won't be beaten, quickly, I'll merely settle for helping Alo in his attempt. :P -------------------- Aut Tace Aut Loquere Meliora Silencio Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

Aye, indeed you can vote for yourself, but the point of this is that it is not the actual vote. It's just a mere poll, to see how people might vote, in the real thing. I could have sworn that Zeviz pulled out, though. And let's see, to break the trend of all serious candidates voting for themselves, I'll go for the following: Five (5) for each of the following: Alec TM Aran Stug Riibu -------------------- Aut Tace Aut Loquere Meliora Silencio Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

Aye, well said. English adopts words as its own, with its own spellings, rather rapidly. I mean, I remember how quickly after people actually started to use the word bling, that it was even entered in the Oxford Dictionary. Thralni, if that was sarcasm, then by all means, that was good. If not, however, then it was not particularly nice. Not to mention that you insulted his name, but if you're referring to the historical figure, in Exile/Avernum, you've spelt your own name incorrectly. Nonetheless, you have a point. It's kinda stupid going "OMG LEIK IT SUCKS AND ANYONE WHO LIEKS IT SUCKS, COS TEHY'RE UBERNOOBS!!1!!1!one!1!", albeit, not so overdone. We all have our own preferences and choices. Balls to elitism, I say. -------------------- Aut Tace Aut Loquere Meliora Silencio Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

The last IP ban I even remember was several months ago, at the time of the PPP2, where Djur was IP banned for an hour or so, for making too many requests on the server, too quickly. In that case, site-sucking. He just sucked too well, I guess... Then again, if you're going to go conspiracy theories, I came back about the time that those two popped up and my IP address is as good as made-up. -------------------- Aut Tace Aut Loquere Meliora Silencio Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

I never really saw the point of auto-combat. If I know the necessary commands and functions in the game, then there should be nothing more that the AI can think of, than myself. I'll be darned, before I trust a primitive AI, that'll probably just walk all my people up to the front lines, then sit them there and get them killed, to take over, when I can actually manage a much better job, with much less risk. Failing that, there's always been the save function. :P -------------------- Aut Tace Aut Loquere Meliora Silencio Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

Post count is not everything. If I had the time or even will to want a post count with more digits on it, then sure, I'd post to my heart's content, but I have neither the inclination nor the means to stay awake that long, just for the sake of a few numbers. Judging from that and my present post rate, the only way I'll catch up with anyone, is if they leave for thirty years or more. Indeed, though, congratulations Alo. -------------------- Aut Tace Aut Loquere Meliora Silencio Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

Aren't you just a sweetie, Saunders? :P Hugna, I don't think that there's ever been much posted on CO's forum, that was ever really worth reading or even technically accurate. Sure, I'll take computer advice from such people, if they don't have an evil smile on their face, while giving it, but medical advice? I'll take the advice of the professionals, over people who post on an online forum. Especially on a life-threatening matter. -------------------- Aut Tace Aut Loquere Meliora Silencio Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

Hmmm... I know of a Hugnam, usually shortened to Hugna. If one and the same, let's not have a repeat of TTS, eh? If not the same, don't worry about it. As usual, I stick to Exile 2 and Nethergate. Really, for overall playability, you couldn't beat them. Not even with a really big stick. :P -------------------- Aut Tace Aut Loquere Meliora Silencio Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

Somehow, I actually like the cut of your jib. The new title at 12500 seems a touch... lame. I would have envisaged something grander or more spam-related... The post-count challenged have nothing to be ashamed of. Many can be the equal or better of someone with several thousand times their post count. Post count, much like karma, means nothing. -------------------- Aut Tace Aut Loquere Meliora Silencio Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

Nice work, Kel. You might even have my vote, for that. Quite frankly, if you're trying to be elected to a position where you require common sense, by the use of blatant bribery and selling your body, much like a lonely sheep, then you're not exactly living up to the expectations of your parents. They wanted you to become a doctor or a lawyer, but noooo, you have to go and become cheesey tramps, to get a different title on a forum for 2D clicky games. Well, gosh! :P -------------------- Aut Tace Aut Loquere Meliora Silencio Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

Cropping is unecessary, until the point where it is too great a demand on the disk space limit of Ironycentral. I will be as accountable a moderator as any other. vis. unless there is a serious grievance leveled, I will merely perform the duties, as necessary. The limit to my powers would be the limit of the powers of any moderator - the full range of moderator powers, but not abused. In short, no egomania. -------------------- Aut Tace Aut Loquere Meliora Silencio Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

My utmost sympathies to you, Eagle. It hurts to lose a loved one. It really is best that you talk to someone you know, such as a friend or family member. If you require spiritual guidance, then TM is indeed right and you should talk to a local spiritual leader. You may also wish to consider talking to a counsellor. I'm sure she's in a better place, now. :) [ Wednesday, June 22, 2005 10:25: Message edited by: FBM ] -------------------- Aut Tace Aut Loquere Meliora Silencio Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

For the first, I would respond: What you are asking for, would be a form of piracy, which is a criminal offence. Please desist from further requests of this vein. The topic would then be locked and reported. For the second: Please consider other member's feelings and opinions, before thinking of making such comments. Such comments are in direct violation of the CoC. This is an official warning to desist such behaviour, to prevent further action being taken. Any inapropriate language would be edited and a note made of it, on the Mod Board, for future reference. For the third: Posting games, such as this, are frowned upon. Especially as this one lacks any meaningful content. Please desist from such topics in future. That one would be locked. If it was a first-time offence, no action would be taken against the person who posted the topic. For a repeat offender, the person would be reported. Leniency may be had if the topic isn't just going to create mindless spam. I might claim that I can achieve outstanding things. That I could listen to what every single person wants and then still leave topics that are in violation of the CoC intact. That I would create a fictional drug and feed it to malcontents. That I would take over the world and spank all the people that I don't like. However, if I were to do that, I would be lying. The simple point of the matter is that I would merely do what is required. If there are topics in violation of the CoC, then I would edit or delete them and take action against the offenders. If there are issues that requires moderational attention, then I would attend to them. If there are disputes that need settling, then I would facilitate them being settled. Other than that, it is not required to interfere with legitimate topics, discussions and members. I would aim to maintain a good status quo and make this a forum where everyone can come to discuss the things that interest them. Where no-one is shunned and turned away and where everyone can have their say in what matters to them. Having been a moderator on three fora, so far, I believe that I actually have the skills and knowledge to be a good moderator. I know what needs to be done and when to just watch and look over things. I also tend to get on with most members. I don't bear grudges and I am always impartial. I doubt that you can ask more, of any moderator and even if you could, that would be beyond the bounds of moderatorship. I don't ask simply that anyone just votes for me. I ask that you look at all the facts and judge for yourselves, who would be the best moderator. I have the skills, the knowledge and the experience to be an exceptional moderator. Possibly most important, I even have a sense of humour. :) Choose wisely with your vote and make it count. Have a nice day. :) -------------------- Aut Tace Aut Loquere Meliora Silencio Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |
