My girlfriend is dead... killed by a drunk driver... I... I don't know what to say... I-I didn't have a chance to confide our commitment before she got herself killed. I curse alcholics, I curse them all. I feel grief... that's all I do, feel grief...

For her I have made this speech and sent it to her closest friend:
Sends my love to Nicole, who has sadly died this day. It was such a brief love we had, yet a strong one. I shall pray you get to heaven as I knew you belived in it.

So, as the great Groxy, I have come back to be served by goblins. In the "main hall" of the goblin cave was a large totem which resembled very much of... me.

My girlfriend's parents were both killed by a drunk driver. It's not funny.

Never mind, perhaps I should tell my parents. Hopefully she will restrain from laughing. >_>

My condolences.

I would like to mention that this calls to mind the need for more accessible and affordable treatment programs for alcoholics (at least here in the U.S. — not sure what the situation is in Sweden). Alcoholics are not bad people, but they need medical help, and usually it is extremely expensive.

Many lives could be saved with more available programs.

EDIT: Nevermind, Drakey says you're really from Sweden. In that case, I offer you my condolences.

EDIT 2: Forgot to campaign for Thuryl.

Find your condolences with your loved ones, close friends and religious leaders. Sincerity aside, this is not the best place to seek comforting for a personal event, considering how recent any acquaintances here would be.

This is perhaps the cruelest thing to say in a topic where someone has died of drunk driving. I mean, really- good job, you cad.

My condolences as well.

You may be confusing a willingness to argue about religion with ability to offer spiritual advice. Speaking in person with a local spiritual leader may be a better option.

EDIT: TM posted as I was posting. How amusing that we agree on something. But to continue, our views are too varied on the boards to give you any comfort. Seeking those you know with beliefs you are familiar with would most likely be the best option.

EDIT2: And ADoS, this is not the place for campaigning.

Well, I'm glad that you didn't know her very well, as this reaction indicates.

If I am mistaken, I apologize sincerely.

I'm using that sentence like a signature that goes on the top of my post. Note the signature-like hyphen row. It's going to be in every post I make until either the election is over or Thuryl is eliminated, regardless of the topic.

Eagle, I know what it feels like to lose a loved one. My father died from leukemia. However, I can't even begin to imagine what it's like to lose someone so suddenly.

Do you have AIM? Maybe we can talk about this.

Yes, and I don't think she's actually dead. If Eagle wants to IM me, I can explain why.

My utmost sympathies to you, Eagle. It hurts to lose a loved one. It really is best that you talk to someone you know, such as a friend or family member. If you require spiritual guidance, then TM is indeed right and you should talk to a local spiritual leader. You may also wish to consider talking to a counsellor.

I'm sure she's in a better place, now. :)

She was indeed a girlfriend over the internet. On internet or in real life does not matter... as long as you have a webcam, microphone and a sensitive mind. I fell in love in the best of her, and now she is but a memory. I would prefer if you all would drop the suspicion to all this, I wished to have some sort of guidance, an advice on what I should do to honour the memory of her and half of you goes so unsensitive? Shame on you!

Her younger brother and her best friend told me. They already knew me to begin with.

Well, if it's true, then my condolences. I'm skeptical though - they could just be having a laugh at your expense.

Then they are all pulling a very well-planned game, a game that are inhuman, realistic and harsh.

You already answered your question, Eagle, about how to honour her. The best of her were qualities that attracted and bonded you, as she radiated them. So honouring and loving those qualities wherever you meet them is an ongoing, living memorial to her who made you aware, who showed them to you.

And that would be true even if she had played a game with you. She may not be everything you see in her and love, but she has made you aware of what it is you seek and love.

Thank you... That was the kind of reply I had been waiting for. *Feeling a heavy stone drop from the chest and a sort of well-needed relief.*

Yeah, ef's good like that. She always seems to give good advice whenever she offers it.
She's a regular poster at Polaris, by the way. You might want to join. I think you'd like it.
