it's behind a door with a lock too complicated to be picked. But if you can defeat (read: stay alive for five rounds) Vali the uber-drakon, he'll bash the door open for you.

If your Gumption is over 4 then you can bully Vali into bashing the door without picking a fight, but I don't get why people don't just walk over the stepping stones, through the archway, and through the unblocked wall. It's like Exile all over again :D

Yeah, the problem with the low trajectory is that you have too much forward momentum. As a dorky child I had a tough time understanding that I had better be running when I hit the ground or else risk a scabby tumble. The jump from up high usually allowed for a few feet of forward momentum followed by a crunch and roll as you hit sand and tried to avoid injury.

In related news, -X-'s fake cousin has a flock of bats in his chimney, basement, attic, outside, and one on the top floor. His dad is very nice to them, too. -X- likes that. -X- always feels sorry for the little "pests" that live in peoples houses and are killed for it.

Sadly, I crushed a bat today. It had lived in my attic and shat all over the attic floor. It was not welcome and chose to not leave while there was no roof. It no longer has freedom of choice.

Aran - Your room is a cluttered mess. No wonder there is no more USB cable.

Thuryl - Your head. Is the largeness due to the camera angle, or is it just huge?

Alec - Your tie is crooked. And princesses shouldnt wear dark blue. Really.

As to the play surface medium problem, we had sand underneath all apparatus. Swings, jungle gym, horizontal ladder, climbing pole, slide, see-saw, even the tether ball. I can't recall anyone getting injured from a fall, and we always flew off the swing set when we had gotten it as high as it could go. Well, maybe some kids forgot to not get sand in their eye, but that is hardly an injury, even for a 1st grader.

Sand packs down and becomes like concrete (no give left). That is why rubber pellets are replacing them. And rubber pellets have many more uses than mere kicking sand into an opponents eye, why the bigger ones fit nicely into slingshots and rubber band guns!

There are different types (grain sizes) of sand. I've never seen sand so fine in a playground that it compacts to that density. But then again, I don't hang out in playgrounds so much anymore. I'll stand by my statement though. Sand is the way to go for play surfaces.

Must generate new, non-quiz, non-poll topic...

Okay, got it. A lot of folks here are either in college or have graduated college. Five questions.

1) Where are you going to school (Or where did you)?
2) Was it your first choice?
3) Do you wish you had gone somewhere differently?
4) Are you now, or will you ever be, a member of the Communist Party?

As for me,
1) University of Maine.
2) Sure. I picked schools with access to ski mountains, and it qualified.
3) Not sure it would have affected me either way.
4) I will be when the time is right.
5) This is confusing, eh?

Come on Slarty. You know I'm a creature of love, yet even I can see past the false logic you present. If a user is crying out "Ban me! BAN ME!!!," I fail to see injury when they are banned. In fact, stareye or Drakefyre is fulfilling that dream of being able to command an admin. There are no wounds, there is no salt. (Peanuts will walk at midnight) There is really no other recourse, as the posting habits of these people are not very social.

As a gesture of love, I would suggest SHAMED as a title. :)

Here is a classic attempt at misleading the public. Most dogs will in fact seek out attention when injured. However, if the dog is mistreated on a regular basis, it will likely retreat and hide its injury from its malicious owner. Tully's experience with dogs seems to bear witness to his level of compassion.

Alec, please teach me more. I was beginning to be sucked into the vortex of Tullyspeak and was losing my senses. I sit here typing wondering if I should be beating my dog instead. Your words have hauled me back from the edge. I now think there may be error in Tulogic, but I can not find it. His method is, is , is so seductive. It has power. I want him to be right so that I can share his philosophy of moral righteousness and megalomania. I want you to be right so I can reject his philosophy of immorality and return to the path from which I have strayed. Please.

Predictably, emotional content gives rise to emotional outbursts. I'd say this is a completely normal effect, but it just hasn't been seen with frequency for quite a while now.
