Location of Key III for Romans in Nethergate

There is a Key III in a corpse behind a Magic Barrier in the south end of the first level of Galag-Trav available to the Romans.

What? Of course I'd already given myself like ten Piercing Crystals!

Hi!

I've beaten it as both, and am playing it again as the Romans (who are my favorites, because, well, they are the Romans).

Get it and play it.

(So maybe this is the wrong forum for this. If so, please move it and tell me!)

I recently installed Nethergate on my HP Pavilion a605x, which runs XP, and when I complete the (Roman) hall quest and go to sleep, Nethergate freezes in the post-hall dream sequence. What's happened, and how do I correct it?

Mac v/s Pc in General

I've had both, and while I prefer my old Mac Performa (from the mid-1990s) to PCs except for the processing-speed issue, I prefer my HP Pavilion to the New Mac on the interface issue. Otherwise they seem to be pretty much the same.

If anyone has a definite preference, that's cool, so don't start a fight with me unless you pay me $10 per word (I'll do the same, except for the $10 per word part - I'm broke and unemployed!).

You'll have to pardon the vagueness of my original post, but I didn't want to spoil it.

The movie seemed to leave open the possibility of a sequel, and I hope one comes along.

It's entirely true that people came to America to get farms, and that we could get more space here on Earth.

That's not the point of going there - Mars is not on this planet and is part of taking a step towards other planets! It is also part of not staying home on Earth.

On a side note, I'm firmly of the opinion that all the recent natural disasters, if they're anything besides just lots of natural disasters, represent a massive cosmic eviction notice, telling us that we should leave Earth.

Why go to Mars? The same reason that the Europeans came to America, except this time without the problems that come with a native population.

Also because it's there and unpopulated, while Earth is here and overpopulated.

Good idea, but I don't think people are smart enough for that...

Mainly 'cause they'd rather smoke Hagfens than not smoke at all.

Sorry for furthering this topic being off-topic (ooo, minor pun, punny ain't it), but I have nothing to contribute to the main point.

I'll get it eventually, around the same time I get the rest of the DVDs. Then I'm going to watch the original trilogy, then the prequels, and then the prequels and originals in series.

This will be long after I get a job (which seems increasingly unlikely).

naming a character in Avernum in The Avernum Trilogy

I often make up random names, such as "Ramiya Pyrope" for a woman in the original Avernum. They seem have elements of whatever I'm doing at the time; "Pyrope" may have come "pyrite," and I was volunteering at the mineralogy section of a museum at the time.

The main thing that Avernum 2 does better than Avernum 1 is the quest list. Handiest thing ever, I'm glad they kept it.

Another good computer game is Escape Velocity (and EV Nova).

I play one called Traveller, which is science fiction, about once a month. One of the others plays D&D, though I haven't joined him - no job, and so no income, so no D&D (one game is all I can afford right now).

Nethergate Update Poll in Nethergate

I voted both yea and nea. Yes, it should be updated as Nethergate 2, which while I would like, I don't expect. No, it should not be updated in itself, because it's pretty much all it's going to be, or indeed needs to be.

My favorite electronic ones were/are: on PC, anything by Spiderweb (no, not because I'm on their site), and on SNES, the Legend of Zelda, Ultima 6, Shadowrun and some others which I forget but liked.

A good pen-and-paper RPG is Traveller.
