The log of the chat would, presumably, be copied and pasted onto a topic once completed. I'd prefer this be done before the 25th (registration deadline). Weekends are good, right? Why not Friday afternoon for Americans? That equals Friday evening for the Brits, and Saturday morning for Thuryl. (Which is not a problem, as I have seen him on at such times.) -------------------- 人 た ち を 燃 え る た め に 俺 は か れ ら に 火 を 上 げ る か ら 死 ん だ Posts: 6936 | Registered: Tuesday, September 18 2001 07:00 |

So you're saying what you did is that you weren't fit for the task since you couldn't make your own decisions anyway, you banned a fellow for saying "fagot", and then marked out when people pointed that this was retarded? I mean, let's face it. There are many good reasons why the administration of this boards is not composed entirely of Vogel, Krizsan and Strout. (Speaking of Strout, who remembers my "fall"? Oh, lord.) -------------------- 人 た ち を 燃 え る た め に 俺 は か れ ら に 火 を 上 げ る か ら 死 ん だ Posts: 6936 | Registered: Tuesday, September 18 2001 07:00 |

quote:tldr quote:stfu bundle of stix Zeviz- Both your complaints and your administrative actions in question show that you did not and still do not understand the context. If someone says some c-razy and zany stuff at a comedy club, it doesn't preclude such an individual from acting responsibly in any other setting. Likewise, the antics that went on at Misc. were just that- antics. I don't think any candidate has misread this context, anyway. (It could be argued that I don't read this context properly, but that's flat-out untrue. I read this context perfectly well, I just don't care. :P ) -------------------- 人 た ち を 燃 え る た め に 俺 は か れ ら に 火 を 上 げ る か ら 死 ん だ Posts: 6936 | Registered: Tuesday, September 18 2001 07:00 |

Exile 2 offers something interesting until you hit Vahnatai homeland- then it's just more of the same, except you add more soldiers, hydras and some chitraches to the mix. Exile 3 has plagues. Do you even know why this sort of thing is shouted down in BoX scenarios? And saying that Geneforge is "nearing" monotony is like saying that our president is "nearing" conservatism. Geneforge is as monotonous as being damned to the level of hell where you are alone in a room and push a red button for the rest of eternity. Jeff needs more spice in his games. He managed to design well until after Anwnn in Nethergate- it's not like he can't possibly do this and still make a game that sells. -------------------- * Posts: 6936 | Registered: Tuesday, September 18 2001 07:00 |

If the first thing you did when you opened the editor at age 13 was better before it was deleted, then feel free to ignore my suggestion to stuff it where the sun doesn't shine. (Although I must admit, that's rather deep, given your favorite pastime.) And for the record, I still maintain that SS is less painful than Bahss. Did you know? The official board policy, as stated by Mariann, is that damn, ass and hell are okay. You don't have to edit them out. Mr. Watts' moderation is, by the books, too harsh. Zeviz has gotten emotional over an election, and has let this damnedly archaic grudge continue, much to the foiling of the process. "Impartial" is the sort of thing that gets Djur banned for providing the dictionary definition of "fagot". Take that as you will. Alec, on the other hand- like myself- provided a sense of order on Miscellaneous. I did so when it was just being formed. Does anyone here remember Sam Potter? Well, he wasn't bad- but Miscellaneous was twice as chaotic before I was appointed. I'm definitely not the most pristine member, but I was a good moderator- Miscellaneous did well under my care. In fact, so did half of the board- nevermind the fact that I am the reason that the Nethergate forum exists. Slander my current behavior if you want, and by the letter of the law, perhaps rightfully so. But even if Drakey is hell-bent to not accept my ascension, I certainly wouldn't make a bad candidate- A vote for me is, if nothing else, a strategic vote; I plan to use any votes I collect to support the most capable candidates and hold down the most inept or egocentric ones. I also, for the record, see nothing wrong with voting for either Mr. Kyras or Mr. Lucien, who I feel to be marginally and somewhat more restrictive than I intend to be respectively. Put more succinctly, I encourage whatever path leads to supporting open discourse and the flavors that make this community worth sticking to, however diluted that may be as of late. I also encourage bizarrely-placed, random images. ... Also, anyone who doesn't like Shiina Ringo will be banned, even if that won't be in my power. -------------------- 人 た ち を 燃 え る た め に 俺 は か れ ら に 火 を 上 げ る か ら 死 ん だ Posts: 6936 | Registered: Tuesday, September 18 2001 07:00 |

Hypothetical Situation #2 Member A calls Member B as composing the entire population of a locale called "fagotville", populated presumably by "fagots". The resulting, tumultuous rancor demands that Member A be banned. Member C raises a valid point that "fagot" has no definition as such. How long should both members be banned? And if you have been made a temporary administrator due to Drakey's absence, how long do you ban them both for? A day? A week? Permanently? Suppose you have an inexplicably asinine and likewise incorrigible grudge against Member A, and Member C has a public association with him. Does that influence your decision? Inquiring minds want to know. -------------------- 人 た ち を 燃 え る た め に 俺 は か れ ら に 火 を 上 げ る か ら 死 ん だ Posts: 6936 | Registered: Tuesday, September 18 2001 07:00 |

So far, all you've managed to say is that: * Both games have you beat up some dragons * Both games have you beat up a political leader * Both games don't thrust you directly into the plot * Both games have evil dudes who "infuse themselves with power" * Both games have plagues of monsters What does that remind me of? Oh yeah- virtually every role-playing game ever created. (And for reference, you don't "save the world" in Avernum 1.) To wit- Hawthorne III did not pretend to be dead, only to stab his father during the funeral. Hawthorne III did not have intercourse with his sister and mother. The party in ALL of the Exile games never has sex, EVER. (For reference, all of the Japanese Fire Emblem games are hentai games- buy a strategy guide for Fuuin no Tsugi some time and see how much you can "unlock".) The party is not any form of nobility whatsoever. Dragons are never even remotely vital to the thrust of any of the stories. Exile has absolutely no character relations of any size, shape or sort. I could go on, but I won't. EDIT: You're wrong, Drakey- Fire Emblem has been around since the Famicom. This franchise is more popular and profitable in Japan than friggin' Mario. (It's one of those "it's too difficult for American audiences" deals which resulted in that psychadelic Mario 2 game.) Find your condolences with your loved ones, close friends and religious leaders. Sincerity aside, this is not the best place to seek comforting for a personal event, considering how recent any acquaintances here would be. EDIT: quote:This is perhaps the cruelest thing to say in a topic where someone has died of drunk driving. I mean, really- good job, you cad. "Hello Hay i wus wonderin if enybodie wus willen to tell me there key to get into full vershin" The registration key is a bunch of numbers. There's only a limited number of combinations, so why not try 'em all? *lock, copy posts and paste to mod board for vicious mockery* "You do realize that your skin color and genitalia (shriveled though they be) are more important in the long run, right? But hey, who am I to stick the dong of communism into your wet dream of meritocracy." I'd be the one making that post. :P "..." Despite the fact that you are correct, this topic is over. (Actually, screw that- the topic never would have existed. A good policy is that "if a topic of the same name exists at OMGJ, delete it".) -------------------- 人 た ち を 燃 え る た め に 俺 は か れ ら に 火 を 上 げ る か ら 死 ん だ Posts: 6936 | Registered: Tuesday, September 18 2001 07:00 |

quote:Oh, good god- that only, what, extended the life of Misc? Saved bandwidth? Honestly, I thought this whole thing was a joke. But if elected, I promise a few things: * A 500% increase in Freudian imagery * More insecurity about your masculinity * An increase in the internet pornography content by minimally .1% (I don't make any promises I can't keep!) * A really happy Mother's Day. * All Australians who have less than four middle names will be forced to run in a hamster wheel with a gimp mask on. Screw everyone else. (No really, do it! It's fun. They won't mind.) When the time comes, you know who to vote for- ™ of the AUGHAUGHAUGHAGUHAGUHAUGHUAGHUAG HAGHUAGHUAGUHUAGHUAGHUAGHUAGHUAGHU AGUHAGUHAUGHAUGHUAGHUAGHUAGHUAGUHA GUHAGUHAGUHAUGHAUGHUAGHUAGUHAGHUAG HUGAHUAGHUAHUGHAUGH *gag* EDIT: While I certainly feel that I'd be the most "loose" amongst the potentially elected individuals (for better or worse or more phallocentric), I still don't think Alec would be bad. I think the best way for Alec to skip all of this nonsense is to refer to the fact that he was 14 back then and is 17-18 now. Well, if the form has a mailto field, it sends it to your address. That's the most common one. I'd suggest, though, using javascript to check the answers.
