Or brown sauce. I love that stuff. Still, there's nothing quite like worcestershire sauce as a marinade for grilled burgers or steaks! :) Posts: 2242 | Registered: Saturday, April 10 2004 07:00 |

Long Dark Tea Time is probably the most humorous book I've ever read. Not all of it is wonderful, but there are several spots in it so hilarious, I had to stop reading for a moment in order to read through the laughter. I don't think they do, Kel. I still don't know how to pronounce Worcestershire Sauce correctly. Following what I've picked up from learning to pronounce "Leicester" correctly, I figure it would be something like "worstershire sauce." Still a bit confusing to this American, though. :) Posts: 2242 | Registered: Saturday, April 10 2004 07:00 |

Wow Ash, that was pretty brutal. Why don't we keep it civil - it's not like he's TM or anything. ;) JadeWolf, I would point out that it's likely you'll receive little to no traffic on your sight. Essentially you're asking only people from this forum - the Spiderweb community - to participate on your forum. Given that we're all already here, there's no incentive to use yours. In addition, though I don't personally feel one way or the other about you, you haven't cultivated the greatest reputation while you've been here, which further reduces anyone's incentive to participate on your boards. I appreciate your energy though. Perhaps it would be better spent designing a scenario? Just a thought. :) Posts: 2242 | Registered: Saturday, April 10 2004 07:00 |

Fair enough. EDIT: Ben, obviously I'm aware of the sizable demos. I wasn't suggesting he let the game go for free. Were he to offer it instead for, say, ten bucks, I think he'd manage to sell a lot more of it. That's all. You know, JV really ought to bring the price on his older games down a bit. I can't imagine his sales are that great for the Exile series when the Avernums are available for virtually the same price. I think he'd actually sell a lot more if he dropped the prices a bit. Law of Supply and Demand, and all that, you know? Posts: 2242 | Registered: Saturday, April 10 2004 07:00 |

Nettling Imp/Royal Assassin and Nettling Imp/Sorcerous Queen-to-feed-the-Sengir-vampire were also fun tactics. Of course, if anyone got the circle of protection: black out, I was hosed. But that's just the way it went, and was why I'd include a couple artifact creatures in my deck, on the off-chance I'd be able to spare myself. Ah, but back in the day (meaning ten years ago) you could have a forty card deck, no more than four of any card, and dark ritual was legit. The most valued card at that time was the black lotus. Funny they'd make a card that they'd later ban. [ Friday, June 10, 2005 11:12: Message edited by: Andrew Miller ] Posts: 2242 | Registered: Saturday, April 10 2004 07:00 |

I found a forty card deck was the way to go - you'd have a higher probability of getting the cards you'd need to execute whichever gimmick you could afford. For me, it was a black deck with Dark Rituals (Instant, spend one black mana to gain three black mana), Sengir Vampires (two black three colorless, 4/4, flying, some other perk), and Hypnotic Spectres (two black one colorless, 2/2, flying, every hit on opponent causes opponent to discard one random card from his hand to the graveyard). If I lucked out and got two dark rituals in my hand the first round, I could have the vampire out immediately, and that could end the game pretty quickly. Two hypnotic spectres early on would also eliminate options for the opponent pretty quickly too. Of course, this method has probably been completely invalidated by now. The fact that I remember even this much is discouraging. :) Posts: 2242 | Registered: Saturday, April 10 2004 07:00 |

Ah, but which of the turings would you be circling in? Turing definitely seems to be of use, though I'm afraid it will find less use than our friend the gerund, which I engaged at the start of this sentence. Still, you have to admit: turture is cool, though it may seem a bit turturous. EDIT: Out of curiosity, what uni are you at, SoT? They should be betas as opposed to b's though, shouldn't they? Does the "10010" signify anything? Tricksy Thuryl - ture isn't a verb. [ Friday, June 10, 2005 06:38: Message edited by: Andrew Miller ] Posts: 2242 | Registered: Saturday, April 10 2004 07:00 |
