Hmph. Your folks must be generous.

Strictly speaking, though, is it really a necessary upgrade?

I've found that, no matter what I'm drinking, the safest thing to do (aside from not drinking at all) is to drink slowly. When you start chugging, knocking down shots, etc., things can get very bad, very fast - before you know it.

Also, never drink champagne out of a solo cup.

I have saved the Google cached pages of all of the Comprehensive BoA Scenario Rankings page with the exception of:

Page 2+ of any of the individual scenario reviews
Crescent Valley
Undead Valley
Emerald Mountain
Death at Chapman's
Rated BoA Scenarios
A Perfect Forest
Babysitting

With the exception of the page 2s (no idea how to get to a cached version of them) and "Rated BoA Scenarios," I suspect that the others are somewhere in Google, they're just too generally named to be able to find easily.

Whom should I send these to? I have no ability to host them myself.

I hope this is helpful!

Stareye is also in WI, I believe.

In the US, I love the southern states. But then, I'm from the south, so there you go. I think people down there, if not more honest, are at least a lot more hospitable, and I think that goes a long way. I also love Waffle Houses, being able to order tea pre-sweetened to a point it makes my teeth feel hairy just thinking about it, NASCAR, bluegrass, deciduous forests, and the feeling of being somewhere where, if the power and water were turned off, nature would quickly overtake everything.

No offense to CA, but I find the level of government subsidization necessary to keep cities running and lawns green out there a bit disconcerting.

Ben, get your head examined. SADDAM HUSSEIN WAS IN NO WAY LINKED TO THE ATTACKS OF SEPTEMBER 11.

You think it was a good idea to go to war to eliminate Saddam Hussein essentially because he's a bad guy. What about the Sudan? What about Myanmar? What about North Korea, where people are starving to death? Why isn't your god-fearing president taking action? How can you use this rationale as justification for war, and ignore these other travesties? How can you abide by this hypocrisy?

Why don't you join up? Obviously your patriotic torch is burning brightly, and your love of God and country make you a perfect candidate for senseless brutality in unjust war theaters. Uncle W. wants you!

You actually could determine that Samus was a woman in the original Metroid, if you beat it in under two hours.

Man, do I feel old. How many of you were even alive when the game came out in 1986?

Best of luck. Remember: there's no shame in purging if you have to. Better not to allow the alcohol to enter your system in the first place than to risk alcohol poisoning.

It was/is, simply put, not a just war. The case originally made for the war did not stand up, even lacking the benefit of hindsight.

In realpolitik terms, the answer to whether the war was justified is a bit murkier. I can see how on some levels it was. The trouble I run into here is the manner in which it was executed and has been carried out since "Mission Accomplished." Much of this has to do with the incompetency of administration officials.

People are furious over a lot of legitimate things. That particular scene only serves to reaffirm what people expect from this president.

I think how people react defensively to charges against Bush by asserting (seemingly without giving it an iota of thought) that the man is beyond criticism is very amusing. I believe very thoroughly that no one, after all, is beyond criticism. I'll extend the olive branch this far: the man has done a pretty reasonable job fostering free trade, and I'm certain his intentions generally are good. Can you meet me half way?

What was so wild about his theories? I'll concede that there was more melodrama than necessary involving the dead G.I.'s mother, but the facts are there.

To Smoked Salmon: I disagree. Provided I do well enough in law school and decide to work in the private sector, I'll essentially be guaranteed a six figure income. That's a fairly vast ROI, better than most other professions available, and to get there, you need an undergrad degree. I would say it's also a much surer path to success than going without a college degree - the Bill Gates-esque folks out there are a much rarer breed than Denny's managers.

Much of it has to do with life priorities, as well as standards and costs of living, though. My friends and I back home have often joked that Louisville, KY, by all accounts a wonderful place to live, is a "work-optional" town. Case in point: two of my good friends back home are local musicians, and have just bought an enormous old house.

Cicero is good fun - the Catalinian conspiracy is a classic (no pun intended). O tempora! O mores! The righteous indignation is thick. :)

Other fun (though a bit tricky) Latin stuff is Suetonius' account of Caligula. Avoid Caesar like the plague - it's pretty dull. I didn't mind Livy so much.

I cut my Platonic Greek teeth on Crito. The Apology is probably more fun though. If you're a masochist, you could always go for Thucydides. Very tough, from what I recollect, but worth it for Pericles' funeral oration. If you're tired of the optative mood, you can always go Greek NT.

I think it's a little tidier, as well as more intellectually honest, not to include punctuation inside quotations, especially when the punctuation is being introduced into the quote by the quoter.

But here is where uncommon genius, and post-graduate education in physics, sets one apart. I realized that it was the unopposed atmospheric pressure on the open end of the can that was holding the goop inside. So, in a flash of inspiration, I used a can opener to punch a hole in the bottom of the can. A triumph of science: the soup-cylinder immediately slid smoothly into the pot.

Flushed with success, I continued making my soup. In order to add one can of milk, I filled the can with milk. Oops.

This is an old wives trick, and hasn't really worked since they rounded the lip of the can on the bottom some years back.

Wouldn't positive pressure technically be "blowing" as opposed to "sucking?"

(As a side question, are folks in the US the only ones who include punctuation at the ends of sentences inside quotes? I heard somewhere that this is the case.)
