We don't seem to have a Dr. Kavorkian equivalent on these boards, do we? This forum seems to need one. Seriously, when did this forum ever have any traffic? EDIT: Wow, that's the second time I've posted in this forum. Ever. [ Thursday, February 02, 2006 17:08: Message edited by: Ephesos ] -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. If I recall correctly, the crystal you're looking for is in a locked cabinet in the northwest corner of the top floor of the mine. -------------------- Thuryl: "Runescape: for people who are too stupid to save their games." Musically speaking, I've been hit my many bricks of varying consistencies. Good bricks: -"Human Torch", by Fastball -"Somewhere Else", by Razorlight -"You're an Ocean", by Fastball (among others) Bad bricks: -"For The Best", by Straylight Run. Actually, I'd known this one for a while, but that's what came on right after I broke up with my last ex-girlfriend. -"Whatsername", by Green Day -"Yahweh", by U2 -"When I Fall", by Barenaked Ladies And of course, there's always the Ben Folds Five song, "Brick". But that's just a weak, weak, weak pun. -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. I hate undead. I really, really, really, really hate undead. With a passion. OoC: Alright, we really do need a separate OOC thread next RP... Thralni, this is where we were after FF's post: -Melora, Tuulentekija, and Sequoia were in the mostly-ruined library, being attacked by a demon and wolves (the wolves could've come from one of the other two exits I mentioned in my post) -Edith, Cain, and Lisha were back down the tunnel a ways, where Cain and Edith's spirits were fully imprisoned and seeking a path out. Cain's demonic body, now free to act as a normal demon would (in this case, attacking Lisha). Important notes to consider when you edit that post... and you really should, trust me: -Lisha and Cain are fighting. -Cain isn't really controlling his demon body right now. -Edith is still slumped lifeless against a wall. -Melora, Tuulentekija and Sequoia are fighting wolves and a demon. -The library is still full of smoke. -Sequoia is in battle-rage mode right now. In summary, please rewrite that post. -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. I hate undead. I really, really, really, really hate undead. With a passion. OoC: Uh... Thralni? Slight problem with your post. Not only did you manage to unknowingly walk past Edith, Lisha and Cain (how, I don't know), but the demon my post referred to is not Cain. I think FF made that clear when he mentioned the wings. -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. I hate undead. I really, really, really, really hate undead. With a passion. (Major Spoilers) 1. Uh... the ones you've completed always tell you where the next one is. There's the one by Grindstone, one north of Formello, one northeast of Fort Dranlon, one southwest of Almaria, one above the city ruins at the far west of the Great Cave, and one in the Abyss (across the river from Bargha). If you go to one before it's opened, you get a map telling you where to go, so that'll help. 2. Don't worry about that yet. You can't get there from that side of the river. You'll get to that lair near the end of the game. 3. Check around the area where the west wall of Bargha meets the cave wall (outside the northwest corner of the city). You should get a message like "you see footprints in the gravel leading north". Walk up to the wall, and it should reveal the passage. 4. Don't worry about Annatolia. She's not really important to the plot. Heck, I assassinated her in my last game. As far as I know, it works for A1-BoA. In A4, it's not really an issue. Even story-wise, it kind of makes sense. I mean, dashing around before the darkness snuffs your light out seems completely logical. -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. I hate undead. Hm... sounds like you haven't cleaned out the dungeon yet. Once you've done that, you can grab a key and unlock some of those rooms on the top floor, which hold the spellbooks. -------------------- Thuryl: "Runescape: for people who are too stupid to save their games." That switch flips some terrain further back along the Gauntlet, and it allows you to get to another switch. Just keep looking, and you'll find it. Hint: enter combat mode, have the first character cast light, then run around in a fully-lit area to find the switch. -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. I hate undead. OoC: Let me see what I can do here... IC: Sequoia had to admit, the chamber was impressive. The one problem seemed to be that the room had scarcely any ventilation, so the smoldering books threw off a pale, sickening smoke. The elf didn't seem to notice, frantically searching through the piles of half-charred books for anything that could be rescued. Tuulentekija, on the other hand, seemed bothered by the smoke. Or is his wound acting up again? he thought. If he is cursed or possessed, we are through. Sequoia noticed that Tuulentekija was leafing through an undamaged book, and saw him return it to the shelf before he could say anything. "Melora, something survived the fire!" the druid yelled in her direction. She didn't seem to notice, and Sequoia could swear that she was muttering something arcane under her breath as she searched the smoking pile of lore. Rather certain that nobody was paying him any attention, Sequoia turned his gaze to examine the chamber. High vaulted ceiling, huge stone shelves along the walls, and two exits, not counting the archway they had entered through. The air crackled with the residue of long-confined arcane lore, somewhat akin to a deathly-humid afternoon, except that this could actually be deadly. A few half-formed shapes shimmered in the magical haze and pale smoke, and Sequoia's mind prickled with the taint's influence for a moment. He came out of it a second later, clutching his charm with a sweaty hand. There was a presence lurking here, and it was painfully close. To Sequoia, it seemed as if the air itself was pulsing with some malicious influence, and the shimmering shapes seemed to be growing more coherent. Illusions... Sequoia thought, gazing at the insubstantial shapes. He slowly turned his gaze up toward the ceiling, and suddenly yelled "Demon!" Sequoia fired a bolt of white light at the ceiling, and shouted for help as an angry demon fell out of thin air, cursing in some infernal tongue. The druid felt the anger rise in him, and felt part of his mind rise up to control it. A balance had been reached. -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. I hate undead. Augmentation is your friend in this particular area, as is Enduring Shield/Armor. Also, the bandits are relatively easy to Daze, so they're no problem. -------------------- Thuryl: "Runescape: for people who are too stupid to save their games." While I doubt this, it could be a whole pun on the christian habit of Christmas shortening to Xmas, making the items Christian. Presumably, this explains their interesting range of rather dysfunctional abilities, and why some of them are flat-out detrimental. I imagine the xian skull would be a rough analogue of some babbling idiot such as Pat Robertson. -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. I hate undead. Hm... I assume that you mean the fortress west of Fort Remote. If not, ignore this. That fortress is interesting, in that there are a lot of doors you just can't open until you defeat Rentar and grab a key. I get the impression that you missed the gate in the far southeast corner of the fort, because there's a usable door near that gate, and that's how you get in. Do you have the vahnatai escort that Ghall-Ihrno mentioned? They should've given you some pointers. -------------------- Thuryl: "Runescape: for people who are too stupid to save their games." Actually, as far as I know, the blessing kicks in on the undead's first turn after being hit. So if you time it right, it can kick in immediately, but you have to know what priority your characters get in combat, relative to the undead. Not sure if the blessing kicking in can be delayed by Slowing them... it would kind of make sense. -------------------- Thuryl: "Runescape: for people who are too stupid to save their games."
