In an effort to include more people, we have decided to try out AIM as a means of doing the next Blades Chats. The chatroom will be called simply 'blades'. So to join: 1) Get AOL Instant Messenger if you do not have it already. It's free and easy to sign up for. 2) Select chat under the People option in the menu. Invite yourself and put in the phrase 'blades' for the name of the chatroom. This should allow you to join the room. Now, chat times. It's always difficult because it is impossible to please everyone around the world. If these times do not work for you, do not worry; we be changing the times such that hopefully one works for somebody. Also, the official times are just there as a reference. Feel free to come earlier or later. The next few "official" chat times: Monday, March 6th at 10 pm EST Wednesday, March 15th at 10 pm EST Saturday, March 25th at 2 pm EST After this, the chat times will probably go to once per week, alternating between weekdays and weekends every other week. Sounds good. On the topic of timezones, EST is GMT -5 is that correct? I can't download it. I press on "download" and immediatly go to the "sign in" page, although I signed in already ten times. After signing in I go to the download page, where I only have the option to download the windows version. if I click on the Mac version, I go back to the main manu, so I have to sign in again and do the whole lot again, after which I can only download the windows version. EDIT: Nver mind. I just discovered this tiny little button at the bottom of the page. Oh yes, maybe it will be possible once to have the chat at 2 pm EST, or will the rate of poeple showing up be so low that it wouldn't be worth the effort? Alternate way to access the chat room: Sign in (duh). Go to File -> New -> Buddy Chat... Follow instructions as above. (By the way, I still can't find the 'People' menu.
