I almost wish I hadn't read this, since now I'm going to go loony waiting for the game. Luckily I don't have far to go.

Well worth the ridiculous dial-up wait. I would almost have asked to be Cher, that's the hilarious thing.

Too bad no one designed the tree for plural marriages. I have a husband, now I need a wife.

She knows who she is. ;)

Dikiyoba.

It's a rare thing on here that I don't ask that question about.

My Gripe about Artifacts in Geneforge 4: Rebellion

I don't really think that the Impervious Cloak is that great. The Cloak of Shadows, however, is extremely useful and I recommend making it as soon as possible. I also liked the Gloves of Savagery. Other than that, I didn't really care for the artifacts. I found steel spines the most useful anvil item of all.

Click the button to make a creation, but once you're at the screen, don't choose a creation type, but just click OK. You'll create an ornk that way since it's the default creation type.

The closest Jeff's games got to retribution for your evil deeds was the Reputation system. It should be reinstated, and with the possibility of negatives.

Alas, trades (such as she comes back, and you leave) don't seem to be feasible.

Your creations. in Geneforge 4: Rebellion

You mean we don't sleep walking around like the guards sometimes do? :P

No, creations don't seem to sleep or rest or have bodily functions (though one isn't exactly looking on the ground for creation scat). They don't grow either, unless you think of gaining levels as growing. I do sometimes get food and feed my creations, though. It heals them a bit, yes, but they're never so little hurt that a bit of bread or meat heals them fully. It's more like, "Here, Zap [my current Wingbolt], want a snack?"

I've wondered about this too. Most Shapers seem to be loners, and the games rarely mention spouses or lovers. The only exceptions I can think of are the couple Lord Rahul and Lady Anjali, who are both Shapers, and Khyryk, who had an Agent wife or lover who is dead at the time he appears in the games. Neither situation seems to have produced children, though. There's also little to no mention of your character's parents and what Shaping or magic abilities they may have had.

I would hazard a guess that, since use of the Geneforge actually messes with your DNA, that might affect any children you produce after you've used the Geneforge. Other than that, though, I have no idea.

If you really wanted to pick a fight, you could force-attack someone.

P.S. Dareva, I played an early beta game with an Infiltrator who was far less optimized than even yours may be, but she still whomped through pretty impressively, which is why I first got excited about the Infiltrator. I added some Strength, Endurance, Intelligence, and battle skills for melee and missles too. Magic was at much more normal levels, but she was strong all around. A Servile probably would have worked better with that allocation, but the Infiltrator still did great, especially having extra essence for creations late in the game.
Ah, I see. Well, it's not that she was bad; she just wasn't as good as I'd hoped. Call me picky, I guess. I rarely run out of juice magic-wise, though, so I don't consider missiles much at all, but that's not a bad idea. I'd love to discuss this further, including my current Infiltrator build, but I'll do it elsewhere, so as not to distract from Val's adventures.

I, for one, would be at least somewhat amused if one had too many creations, they went rogue, and killed the PC, as long as that led to an ending something like, "One of your drayks eats your head."

That was the biggest difference for me from previous Geneforges, as I generally play an Agent who lone-wolfs it just fine; my last Infiltrator needed a lot of creation support. Imagine my surprise. This second incarnation is doing much better, and I have plans to start crafting much earlier now. (I didn't make the Cloak of Shadows until way after it would have been most useful. Oops.) I have more in Endurance than I would have previously invested, and she's wearing sturdier armor than is my wont as well. But it's paying off, so I won't complain.

I've been inspired to try once more with an Infiltrator myself now. The last time, I was slightly disappointed, as she seemed much weaker than she should have been. I altered my playing style slightly, though my girl isn't quite as lethal as the various Vals.

I'll be waiting eagerly for the next installment.

That's better, yes. I generally wear logo t-shirts in that light heather gray color, if it's available, so that's why I asked about a lighter color.

How about a Geneforge Orois Blaze t-shirt? He says a lot of shirt-worthy things.

I would as well, just in a lighter color so you can see the GIFTS better.

Hmm, maybe I have a use for that CafePress shop after all. I haven't done anything with it since I tried to make a t-shirt about the Brontes. All my Bronte-loving friends didn't like it, though.

If you're using Schrodinger's (Matt P.) guide, the recipes are not wrong; the way he has them written may have confused you, though. It does say, however, right before the recipes, that you need the item above the perfected item as well as the item below it.

The "You're cute" spider shirt also finds approval with me. There are several SW members that I'd like to meet. I even think I'd get along with them.

SPOILER

I could be wrong, as I haven't played G2 in ages, but I think that in the Barzite ending, whether you used canisters in your game makes no difference at the very end. You won't be as arrogant, yes, but I think you end up going canister-mad later anyway. I suppose that after hanging out with the Barzites long enough, you succumb to the peer pressure and start using them anyway. :D

I just tried to check an old G2 save, since I'd labeled the last ones with the faction I had joined, but suffice it to say that the Barzites didn't come out on top in my Barzite save. :(
