This is... confusing? Yes, that's the word I'm looking for... could you explain your methods a little better? It's topics like this that make me want to leave the country as soon as I can... I just wish I wasn't so attached to St. Louis. I hate the image associated with America at this point, but I love living here. It's the leaders who make such idiots out of themselves that I can't stand... That said, I can't wait for 2008... or a double impeachment. Whichever comes first. Come to think of it, Cheney may be impeached sometime soon (please let it be so!)... just in case you haven't heard of his recent "incident". -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. quote:I would certainly hope so... and even so, it's still unpleasant. quote:When 50% of a country's population is victimized and repressed by a law, I think it's safe to say that society is being harmed. Sure, their society may be stable, but that doesn't mean that it's doing the people any good. In fact, that sort of rigidity seems to be a decisively negative trait, particularly when you're dealing with this kind of oppression. -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. I seriously thought everyone here was above this sort of thing, or at least willing to try and sort things out in a civilized manner... General is starting to sound like a Blades chat, complete with backbiting, naysaying and incoherent arguments. This is all very interesting, but I have to scream now... I'm sick of this. Everyone needs to let Ed adjust to the boards, and Ed needs to stop attacking people as soon as they cut him some slack. Just so you know, Ed, I also find you annoying. But I'm willing to give you a chance as long as you try to calm down as well. (And random tip: leave the moniker changing to TM and Alorael) Seriously, this is out of control. Everyone's exploding a little more often these days... first Ed/EDF/Cessel, then Synergy and Kel... Can't we all just get along? ( :P ) -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. I hate undead. I really, really, really, really hate undead. With a passion. ...or something like that... I present this. I just can't believe that a few shreds of sanity still cling tenaciously to my mind... And it just occurred to me: I don't start many topics. quote:Yeah, I think that's one of the only semi-logical explanations for how me and my girlfriend got together. But just like the matter-antimatter analogy, what's left is either lopsided or prohibitively spread out. Quite a few of my friends (great people) just get terminally unlucky, and are forever bouncing off bits of unresponsive matter. Anyway, </rant>. quote:Or perhaps you're just projecting your insecurities onto me. :P But seriously, I had no claim on being particularly attractive, and I suppose I did set myself up for that one. My general point was that most girls seem to seek out the worst guys, and most guys seem to seek out the worst girls. quote:This is quite a mental image... angry tupperware, perhaps? But I agree, Gap ads are abominations... until you turn the sound off. Then they're just funny, in a kind of sad and pathetic way. Or, even better, blast some completely different song while it's muted (something from Spamalot, for example). Come to think of it, I've had the "swap in different music to make something tolerable" principle work for System of a Down videos... they sync up eerily well with "He Is Not Dead Yet"... -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. In my experience, intelligence and sense of humor never seem to factor into the equation, otherwise I'd have had much better luck with relationships in the past. quote:Quite true. But whenever we hear "something must be done" in America, it seems that massive troop deployments are always the solution. That's not what the situation needs. If only there was a way to go back and alter hundreds of years of cultural practices... Sadly, I can't see any feasible solution beyond the time-travel-and-change-their-customs one. No more wars over injustice... they just tread on the already-downtrodden, and often have questionable end-goals. -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. I hate undead.
