Great for you.

But are you quite sure you wanted to give your topic that title?

Congratulations, and good luck. Perhaps this good Univeristy's English department will not bother too much about spelling :) .

Congrats! 'Tis always good to get what you want out of the nightmarish college application process.

Personally, I would hope that they don't see the topic title here... just like I'd hate for my university to really look at my posts.

Stop reading things into what he said. Evidently Nik was just so excited that he got a hot flush and had to apply a damp cloth to his face to cool down, and that's what he meant by wetting himself. Honestly, you people have such dirty minds.

"Wetting Yourself" should be the new name of the General Forum. No particular reason, but that somehow seems to fit just aboot everything that goes on in here.

The Univeristy in question is Nottingham. It's ranked witin the top 7 or 8 in the country for my particular course.

Very sure! Wetting myself can mean one of three things right now. Two of which aren't exactly the kinda thing one would talk about in polite conversation. The third - Ash got it...

I'm not sure exactly what you mean :P My spelling isn't that bad is it? (I was going to say "atrocious", but I may have spelled it wrong...) In fact, it's my typing that stinks. Ahem. Okay, I do lapse occasionally, but you all know what I'm saying.

There's also the fact I have no idea about my future after attending University. There are so many career's I'd like to do!

But I'm thinking of doing two or even three degrees in different areas. It never hurts to be educated, right?

What? Oh. That reads quite badly...

There are many jobs that I am interested in, all of them in different areas of the employment sector.

And Jewels: What's wrong with my hair? It's pretty much unnoticeable because I still wear my hats...

It's probably too late for you to change your grades, so hopefully they're good. You can always get exam prep for SAT, ACT, etc., if you aren't a good tester(Kel would be the expert on this, though). Good scores can help make up for a lacking GPA.

Otherwise, I would just advise you to go to the highest ranked school that you get into in a climate you can tolerate for four years. Seeing as you're from Minnesota though, I can't imagine the latter will be a problem for you! :)

Two things: Yes, prepping for the tests makes a quicker improvement than trying to increase your GPA. It's possible to raise an SAT score by 200 points over the course of a semester (with hard work), but it's often not possible to raise a GPA by a comparable amount over the same semester. I work for The Princeton Review, which was what AM was alluding to, so I know a bit about this; just ask if you have any questions.

Also, there are a number of hidden gems out there — Minnesota reminds me of Carleton and the nearby Grinnell — that have good programs but not as strict entrance requirements as a Harvard or a Princeton. There are a number of good schools in the Midwest that get overlooked because so many people want to go to the coasts.

Haha study buddies is just fine...
I most likely will not go to nottingham trent though seeing as it was my last choice. But i've only gotten responds from 3 of my uni's so far, which were my bottom 3... so i'm still waiting in agony.

Yeah, what Kel said.

However, keep in mind that you can get a good education at almost any school. There may be opportunities for specialization at a top-tier school that you don't have elsewhere, and the student body will definitely be different. But professors at big name schools aren't necessarily better teachers -- sometimes the opposite, since they may be pressed to "publish or perish."

Nothing personal, I just like longer hair in general. Orlando Bloom in his Legalos wig, braids and all, is sizzlin.
