I agree with Alorael on Doomguards. They can pretty well hash anyone except skilled adventurers. The Rakshasi have a cool name and absorb spells is a great ability, but I don't really like them beyond that. I like hydras. Not necessarily the hydras of Spiderweb, but a monster that grows two heads for every one cut off is pretty neat. Rather similar to Doomguards. I suppose I just like monsters that get more dangerous the more you damage them. -------------------- Need a pet? Need cheap labor? Buy a Moose! Take the Personality Test! So, how many of you all are productive working members of society? Or at least have a job? What do you do? How much do they pay you to do it? I myself am at work right now. I work at the library ! It's not the busiest or most exciting job, but it's low stress and leaves free time to post on message boards . I get a whopping $8.25 an hour. It isn't a lot, but it's certainly better than the minimum-wage burger-flipping jobs most teens have. -------------------- Need a pet? Need cheap labor? Buy a Moose! Take the Personality Test! Only a little speeding and perhaps some minor larceny here. And I would like you to name some one who drives but has never exceded the speed limit. -------------------- Need a pet? Need cheap labor? Sorry, I have kind of lost interest in this RP. To satisfy the story we'll say Alex left to avoid the disease (That was about the time I stopped reading/posting) -------------------- Need a pet? I usually visit one to two times a day and post maybe once a week (hence my low post count). But if I am particularly involved in a thread I will visit/post more often. -------------------- Need a pet? Need cheap labor? Buy a Moose! Take the Personality Test! I would say you should play Exile 3 first and then perhaps Avernums 1 and 2. I have observed that those who play an Avernum first don't really appreciate the Exiles. Exiles 1 and 2, while good, have horrible interface in comparison to E3 and the other games. Also, BoE is indeed a good investment. -------------------- Need a pet? Need cheap labor? Buy a Moose! OOC: Tommy, pretty good. IC: As during the other undead waves, Alex ran about hasting, slowing, lobbing fireballs/storms, and occasionally a conflagration here and there. Dang, he thought, ten more minutes and I've had had those bolts of life ready. Oh well, they'll be ready for next time. Perhaps I should have ef help me make a few scrolls and wands of dispell undead. -------------------- Need a pet? Need cheap labor? Buy a Moose! Take the Personality Test! Alex was woken from his peaceful slumber by horrified screams and the moaning of undead. Sticking his head out the window, Alex sleepily yelled "Can't you crazy kids keep it down?! I'm trying to slee-" and was knocked over as a vengeful spirit burst into his room and began attacking him. Quickly dispatching the spirit with a fireball, Alex hurriedly dressed and rushed outside to aid the others with his spells. (Including a little hasting of friends and slowing of enemies.) -------------------- Need a pet? Need cheap labor? Buy a Moose! Take the Personality Test! Oh, so you're not taking over the plot. Just the town . If you would care to notice, no one else felt a need to bring in "reinforcements" or make buildings. Perhaps you should follow our trend of having one character who stays in the inn. -------------------- Need a pet? Need cheap labor? Buy a Moose! Take the Personality Test! Blech! I had to read Lord of the Flies too. A slightly disturbing book. Although, it is kind of interesting to read some reviews on it. If viewed politically as malevolant dictator (Jack) vs. democracy (Ralph), it is actually kind of interesting. I also found it interesting that "Lord of the Flies" is a translation of beelzebub (Satan). -------------------- Need a pet? Need cheap labor? Buy a Moose! Take the Personality Test! Alex, a powerful archmage. Is staying in a good room at the inn. He is in town to study unusual magical mushrooms that grow near there. -------------------- Need a pet? Need cheap labor? Buy a Moose! Are there other mirror sites? Where? (and sorry it took me so long to respond, after the first week and half I stopped checking for replies) Edit: Never mind, PC Game World had it and it worked. Thanks for the suggestion. [ Wednesday, August 27, 2003 12:52: Message edited by: Archmage Alex ] -------------------- Take the Personality Test! Deep down, you wish you were a stick figure. quote:Terry Brooks' books (hehe I rhymed) are very good. I liked his Shannara series better than his Landover series though. His Word and Void trilogy is pretty good too. I am currently reading The Forging of the Darksword. It's pretty good so far. -------------------- Need a pet? Need cheap labor? Buy a Moose! Take the Personality Test! Well, as I said, I don't spend 5 mins in week thinking politics. I just saw the link once in Sir David's(?) signature and liked some of the bumper stickers, so I stuck a link in my sig. I probably should have looked through the whole site earlier. While I do consider myself conservative, on looking at the site it is rather extreme in its views. -------------------- Need a pet? Thanks, and differing political views is no need for nastiness. Although, seeing as how I don't spend 5 mins in a week thinking about politics and this link has brought nothing but hostility, I might as well get rid of it. While waiting for GF2 for windows to come out, I thought it would be nice to try out Nethergate. Unfortunately, I am having trouble downloading things from Spiderweb's site. Other sites seem to work fine though. I was wondering if some one would be kind enough to put a copy of the demo on their website. You could have it downloading in the background while you read these boards! Could some one do this for me please? -------------------- Need a pet? Need cheap labor? Buy a Moose! Actually, those numbers only represent the members who voted. If you will check, you will see there are way more than 50 people that come to these boards. It would make sense that those who view themselves as above-average would be more likely to vote then those who think they're dumb, so the poll actually doesn't tell us much. Or I suppose you could say that 80% of those who vote on polls feel they are above-average. -------------------- Need a pet? Need cheap labor? Buy a Moose! Take the Personality Test! Actually, I'm anti-mac mostly because so many people here are anti-windows and it gets very annoying. Also because Jeff uses a mac which means I have to wait for GF2. -------------------- Need a pet?
