New version of LP released. Nethergate PC graphics have been implemented, but it turns out that this feature totally fails to work on Windows, so I just included the graphics, gave instructions how to insert them, and leave it up to the player to do so if desired. I also added that the party's original spells and skills are restored at the end of the scenario, and I fixed one or two bugs. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. I do in fact have e-mail notification on and, since the e-mails contain the entire text of the PMs, tend not to look at the PMs themselves until I'm about to reply, which I haven't had a chance to yet. I am looking into what you sent me and will respond soon. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Come to think of it, that would make sense, too. However, "Donarus" does not, AFAIK (and I admit Church Latin is not my thing), mean anything. And yeah, the "Papam" thing: in the name, it should definitely be nominative. TM, your Latin needs work. EDIT: Even if it were "Papa Donatus," that would mean "Pope Having Been Given." I think you mean something like "Papa Donator." But the Pope will have to address the inadequate number of priests. The ordination of married men (not forbidden until the Middle Ages) seems like the most obvious way to do that. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Go to "Edit Statistics," click on the spell type you want to edit (Mage or Priest), and then click on the level of the spell that you have. You can edit it up to 5. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Smoo: Get ready to face the walls! Funny, I thought this was mentioned in the docs, but I can't find it. The place that I've found was this: "If you set every space as visible, be sure to set them as not visible before ending the cutscene," but he really ought to mention that the total visibility resets to zero only when specifically reset with set_total_visibility(0) or when the player quits and restarts. I think you may have mis-read his post. It seems like it would be easy enough to copy the graphic into a graphics program and turn it into a black and white image, but I don't know if that would achieve the right effect. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. The biggest difficulty with the combat in this scenario is adjusting to the engine modifications. Once you've adjusted, it gets really easy really quickly. If you used the "pre-fab party" (so to speak), you have a trie fighter, a fighter-thrower, a first-aider (who I like to switch to the fourth spot), and a pure thrower. Make liberal use of the pila, and buy more in Timoria when you get there. Gold is a bit sparse in this scenario, but if you do the sidequests and don't buy too many first aid kits, you should be able to get a supply of pila to last you through the rest of the scenario. Re-stock your potions in the outdoors between every fight, and distribute them between your fighters and throwers. And when all else fails, run away. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. Smoo: Get ready to face the walls! You found out whose family was watchers? Then go to the northwest and talk to some folks. One person will have a key. It's, err... Belinda. Ask about the she-devil, then Demonslayer, then that her family was watchers. EDIT: Also, Wizcozski's getting an Unhandled Exception error upon killing the bandit leader. Anyone know why this might be or how to fix it? I'm a bit baffled about it, myself. Many things updated. Bahssikava updated to v1.0.5, fixing a graphic. The Player FAQ has been updated. HLPM updated to v1.1.3, updating the Library, and Nine Variations updated to v1.1, adding a new variation and some other stuff. An LP update is coming soon, as soon as I try out the Windows version to make sure the graphics work. I made the Links list much bigger, too. If anyone has other BoA sites that aren't on this list, please let me know and I'll add them. Check all this stuff out at the link in my signature. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. quote:For the record, I beat Bahssikava with a level 40 HLPM party, and we know what you think of my skill as a player. Rather than calling your playing ability shoddy and then editing it out later in order to get away with it, I'm just going to say that scenarios are easier to their designers than to others. quote:I made the HLPM presuming a linear relationship, which may not have been entirely accurate. But I examined carefully the spells and skill available in the four pre-packaged scenarios, omitting special artifacts and including default ones, as I was making it. For the record, if anyone wants to re-do the item balance in the HLPM, you're welcome to do so, and I will examine the changes made and include them if I consider them an improvement. The code is pretty obvious in that regard -- the main difficulty is deciding what each level range should get. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens. I never did find the bracelet. I don't think it exists. The watchers' tower, though, you can get into if you just wander around talking to people in that town. Someone in the northwest has a key, I think. You have to find out whose family consisted of watchers and then ask that person about it. -------------------- Arancaytar: Every time you ask people to compare TM and Kel, you endanger the poor, fluffy kittens.
