I find the show occasionally humorous, but its reliance on pop-culture references and random absurdity gets rather grating after a while. It's a decent show, but I feel that it's vastly overrated.

Perhaps it's just me, though. After all, I'm not much for comedy in general, vastly preferring movies and TV shows in the genres of action or horror. What little comedy I enjoy is usually just whimsical, light-hearted stuff, and slapstick such as "The Three Stooges," possible my favorite show in the entire comedy genre.

I tend to find the situational comedy replete in everyday life to be far more laughter-inducing than most anything committed to screen.

Do you really prefer the taste of hard liquor, straight, to that of a decent brew? I find vodka absolutely vomitricious when taken straight, and rum and tequila are pretty vile as well. Whiskey has a more tolerable flavor, but it burns considerably going down.

If you mean only that you find that mixed drinks taste better than beer, or that you enjoy the flavor of liqueurs like Kahlua or Amaretto, then I agree entirely.

EDIT: ADoS, I'm not sure if you'd feel that way about the taste of alcohol if you tried a Margarita. Pure heaven in drink form, I'd say.

I couldn't have cared less about this trial or the verdict that the jury arrived at, but I do feel that some of those who have posted above could stand to gain a bit of understanding and empathy for others. Jackson suffered substantial amounts of verbal and physical abuse throughout his largely nonexistent childhood. If he truly is a child abuser, his past by no means exonerates him of his crimes, but certainly it's a plausible explanation for his general kookiness.

I'm not sure if I can remember all of the monikers I've had, although since I only change my PDN every few months there haven't been many at all. Nearly all of my monikers (with the exception of iDavid) have related to the original "Stughalf" in some way or the other. Here are the ones I can remember, in rough order:

-Stughalf
-A Stughalfian Principle
-iDavid (during the whole name impersonation/exchange thing going on at the time)
-Spongiform Stug
-Slammin' Stugie (which inspired TGM's impersonation moniker, "Spammin' Stugie")
-Only Half Stultified?
-A Cool Half Million
-This Glass Is Half Stugie

Out of curiosity, can anyone remember any of the ones I've managed to forget?

Hmm. I'm feeling like a new one.

EDIT: And so it is!

Although my own laggardly posting habits have contributed to a fast-decreasing post margin between us, there's not a bit of resentment in me, only admiration. :)

Yeah, the chaps that do the cooking on my campus seem to be experts at cutting corners. The last special brownie I sampled only set me back $5, but it certainly had the desired effect, and more. More than four hours of looking and feeling like a shambling, spaced-out vampire was quite long enough, thank you. Especially at the obscenely slow rate the time seemed to be passing. :P

Ah. I have a very ambitious culinary friend who plans to come up with a five-course meal of very special foods for a fine banquet next year. We'll have to charge somewhere around $25-$30 per person, though, to make up for the cost of the, ahem, active ingredient. :P

How do we pronounce... in General
Guardian
Member # 3521

Split "Stughalf" up into "Stug" and "Half" and pronounce each phonetically according to American English, and you should be fine. I've found that people tend to see the name as pseudo-German and pronounce it as such. I believe when I posted a recording of my voice in a thread a few months ago many people were surprised at the pronunciation.

As for the shortened version "Stugie," it's pronounced stoo-jee. It's my favorite of the short versions, but Stug or Stuggy/Stuggie also work fine.

It was pretty damn fun. I got a ride down to my friend's apartment in Champaign-Urbana with another friend of mine. A few other friends also made the journey in order to be there. Add to that small cadre a group of friends and acquaintances that were staying the summer down there, and there was a fine party to be had.

We started out at the apartment, just drinking beers and chatting for a while. When a few more people arrived, my friend brought out the birthday cake. I went native, devouring my slice without once touching it with silverware or hands. As I was getting rather drunk, and it was still rather early, I took the advice of a few others and slowed down for a bit. A few other people arrived, and then, just before midnight, we gathered to trek over to a nearby bar.

On the way, I turned 21, and "Happy Birthday" was sung by all with great gusto. Upon reaching the bar, I received my first wristband, had a seat, and promptly was supplied with money to buy drinks for myself and others. They kept me fairly busy, but I had time to chill and enjoy myself. Several people I hardly knew stood drinks for me, which was nice.

At 2 AM, the bar closed down, and we were forced to leave and head back to the apartment. After that point, I don't remember too much, but I apparently managed to drag myself into a couch before passing out.

I woke up somewhat early, still feeling a little drunk and with a fairly bad hangover going. It got progressively worse in the next few hours, and I was sure I would end up vomiting. However, after a few slices of lemon at a local diner it quickly cleared up completely, after which I got a ride back home with my friend. Quite a fine weekend.

And, in case you're curious about the particulars of what I drank, here's about as much as I can remember, in roughly chronological order:

5 cans Pabst Blue Ribbon
1 shot Amaretto
1 Margherita
1 Mini Long Island
1 pint Leinenkugel's Berryweis
2 shots Jamison's whiskey
1 pint beer, of some kind

Keep in mind that all of this was consumed over a six-hour period. I wouldn't have survived the night if I had tried to drink all of that at once.

Damn. I've somehow managed to forget all about that for a little while now. Although my internet access isn't that great at home, my wrist healed up long ago, and so I suppose I'd be up for engaging in the debate in earnest. I'll admit that it probably would have begun long ago if I hadn't utilized more than a few delay tactics to cover up my reluctance to engage in a one-on-one debate which would involve a significant posting obligation. It's very difficult for a chap as lazy as I am to agree to accept such a responsibility.

Right now, however, I'm feeling just about up to the challenge. Expect a new debate topic from me some time in the next few days.

I'm somewhat addicted to social interaction. Whenever I'm not around friends for more than two or three hours or so, I begin feeling a bit down. Make it a day or two, and I start to feel as if I'm going insane.

Unfortunately, I fear I've become psychologically addicted to alcohol after less than a year of drinking. It seems that if I don't get drunk at least once every two or three weeks, there's a little something missing from my life. However, I don't crave the alcohol by itself, which I suppose would be the sign of a true addict. Getting drunk in a mellow setting doesn't really do it for me. I just crave the party, I suppose.

Other well-established addictions of mine include ferrets, mustard, vinegar, lemons, pepperoncini, and a whole host of other sour and salty delights.

This would be the most likely choice:

But I'd also consider using either of these:

I did make it through the weekend all right, and thanks for your concern. I had a pretty rough hangover Saturday morning, but it faded away after a bit. My iron-clad stomach held up well as usual, and I didn't get sick, although I did have more Friday night than I believe I've ever had before. At midnight we migrated from my friend's apartment to a bar, where I received my first wristband and purchased my first drink. A very good time had.

Thanks to all of you for your congratulatory messages, and happy birthday, Kel! :)

The only situation in which I would even consider hitting a girl would be one in which she had just struck a blow to my groin. It's the one unforgivable offense. Of course, if she apologized nicely enough afterwards, I'd probably be satisfied.

I've never been in a fight that wasn't just good-natured horsing around. I can't remember the last time I used a serious insult, either. People generally like me, as I tend not to give them reasons not to. If I happen to run across someone that decides to take a persistent dislike to me, I'll just avoid him.
