Across the Universe, by the Beatles.

Did Lennon really touch the innermost essence of beauty or was he just high? As if it would matter. The music speaks for itself.

Yes, I'll just add my congratulations and begone.

Few topics of this kind deserve to exist but this one must be tolerated, I guess. You are, after all, the all-mighty idol of so many invisible newbies. And yes, even I belonged to that group once. Thank God those times are long since gone. :P

EDIT: Well, almost at least. Your post count still looks awfully big to a small, small newbie.

Hmm. Alcohol and petanque is probably not a very good combination. Unless of course, you rather dodge the spheres.

Yeah, and SubTerra here on SW. I once dared to read through some topics there, and boy was I suprised! All posts were obviously written by intelligent people and very matter-of-fact. No spam at all! What more, the people there were actually nice and friendly to each other!

It was almost scary. Like Shangri-La or something like that. You know, a lost valley (SubTerra) where people live untouched by the corruptness of the outer world (the Internet). I dared not post, as I was sure spam would break the delicate balance. But it was beatiful...

What in the name of funny names is Hermannin Nuorisoseura? :P

Currently going..."Shut up" by Black Eyed Peas. Few songs really have attitude. This is one of them.

What do you mean? I'm not a 75-year-old Frenchman who lives in Nizza, but that doesn't mean I cannot enjoy hurling heavy spheres against a smaller sphere! :P

Don't worry. Considering the "push ups in 2 minutes" topic was recently posted, I don't see why this should be so much worse. And you're completely right, this is no stupider than talking about any other interests.

This might not be the best place for discussing such things, however... :P Perhaps a lifting forum..?

I have no idea of my lifting capability. But I'm afraid I'm horribly bad at it.

Video and computer games:

Halo (no Xbox Live for me, unfortunately)
Midtown Madness (I'm already bored)
SW games (though not lately)
Gateway (the best text-based adventure ever! Play it!)
Angband and ADOM (when I'm bored I play boring games. Usually I end up screaming of excitement as the battle between @ and D rages on.)

Board games:

Chess (third place in the high school championship! Yay!)
Backgammon (if I only could learn how to beat my father...)
Othello (it's the corners, I tell you! The corners!)
Trivial Pursuit (no, it's not that fun. But at least I usually beat my sister at it.)
The Star of Africa (the one, the only)
Most card games ever invented. Plus fortune-telling.

And if we really stretch the concept of games, then I might as well add petanque and dart throwing.

EDIT: Now I only wonder if somebody actually bothers to read through it all...

Bad Day, by R.E.M.

Hah! Who said R.E.M. couldn't make good music anymore!

It's been a bad day, please don't take a picture. How universally true!

How true. How else are we supposed to achieve that state of pretended happiness, which is so necessary for a good party.

I say yay! :D :D :D

There you see. Not hard at all.

The Earl of Morey, by a definetly talented but as yet un-named fiddler!

Traditional music from the ol' Green Island, for your information.

I like all the NPCs who "follow" you thorugh the games. That includes (but is not limited to) Tor, his wife (can't remeber her name...but she was of the Hammer Clan), Nance and Elspeth, the guitar girl, Solberg and the other mages, Commander Johnson, Julio the mapmaker and many, many more. They make the Exile games more alive than most other fantasy worlds I've seen.

Still, I guess my favourites are Nance and Elspeth. They've just got that something.

I fear that somebody has said this already but I'm still going to say it.

I think there cannot be an all-benevolent or an all-evil god. There are always rules. Happiness is different from people to people. An all-benevolent god would approve of murdering and raping as well as other such things, as long as it increases one's personal happiness and pleasure.

The benevolent god is impossible. His teachings would be like "Do what you want. Don't do what you don't". You will have to separate the "benevolent god" from the "good god". It all comes down to rules, eventually.

But that doesn't make sense. I mean, I could just edit it, could I not? It wouldn't look as good as if I deleted it but the result would be the same. Or would it not?
