We're all amazed but not amused
By all the things that you said you'd do.
You're much concerned but not involved by
Decisions that are made by you
But we are sick and tired of hearing your song,
Telling us how you are going to change right from wrong,
'Cause if you really want to hear our views,
You haven't done nothin'.

quote:
Ringo was a fine player, but unlike the other three, was no real virtuoso. Thus, unfavorable comparisons will always be made. His failure to compose anything of great merit while with the Beatles stands as another black mark on his name, although many of his songs were decent, if not anything spectacular (Octopus's Garden, Don't Pass Me By).
I love Octupus' Garden! That's one of my favorite Beatles songs!

Now I'm listening to good day sunshine (Beatles)

"Octupus's Garden" is not bad, in my opinion. However, I can't say it's one of my favorites, and it's certainly one of the weaker tracks on Abbey Road in terms of musical merit. My favorite Ringo composition while with the Beatles is most probably "Don't Pass Me By," off the White Album. It's got a nice folky feel, and while it's certainly not a complex masterpiece or anything of the sort, it's a pleasant and entertaining song. "Act Naturally," off the Help! album, is also a decent tune.

"Good Day Sunshine" is okay, although I feel that it's surpassed by most of the other tracks on Revolver. I'm currently listening to "She Said She Said," my favorite track off of Revolver.

Across the Universe, by the Beatles.

Did Lennon really touch the innermost essence of beauty or was he just high? As if it would matter. The music speaks for itself.
