Passionworks, 'Outside'.

RHCP annoyes me greatly. I liked their music just fine, until I got so sick of hearing one same song over and over and over and over again. Damn radiostations..

They also have an extraordinarily poor guitarist. He's somewhat cancelled out by Flea's excellence, but replacing him with someone competent would highly improve the band. Also, although they are good at turning out hit songs, their album filler material is usually pretty poor. Every time I listen to the "Californication" album, I marvel at how it could have received such rave reviews when only about a fourth of the songs are any good at all.

And I'm currenly listening to "Air" by Ben Folds Five.

RHCP rates on my top three bands, and "Californication" rates on my top three songs.
I also think that guitarist is great.

RHCP annoys me in that after a while, all their songs sound excatly the same.

It troubles me to the soul that we share musical tastes. I'm thinking of becoming a classical musician just at the thought of it.

'Communication Breakdown' by Zep. Absolutely brilliant track, and not even the best on the album.

50 Million Year Trip (Downside Up) by Kyuss has just followed it.

RHCP has done some good stuff and I'd rank Easily amongst my top ten songs ever, most likely, butthey're notas good as their press would have you believe.

Let the good times roll again

Have any of you actually listened to classical music? You might find you like some of it...

I'm listening to Brahms' 4th symphony, again, second movement. Windows Media Player is not very random...

"Interstate Love Song" is cool.

If you don't like RHCP's guitarist, get One Hot Minute. Chili Peppers fans will warn you against it, because they got a guest guitarist -- Dave Navarro, formerly and currently of Jane's Addiction. Navarro is among the top 5 greatest guitarists of the alternative scene in the last 20 years (competing with Dr. Know and a few others), and his work on 1HM is characteristically awesome. It's definitely the most rocking of their album. In addition to that, I like Mother's Milk and BSSM. Some of Californication I like, such as "Scar Tissue" and the title track. Oh, and "Get On Top." Songs like "Porcelain" are why their most recent album sucks horribly, not to mention Flea's abandonment of slap bass.

<rant>Jesus Christ, man! Everyone knows you for slap! You're probably the greatest slap bassist since Bootsy Collins! Why the hell are you using a pick? Why?</rant>

"QuakeMaster", MC Hawking.

MSW: Just list Wham! already.

Morgan: Sorry, you misunderstood me. I was talking about the StD business. But that of that.

EDIT: Motrax, I've tried (read: have been forced) to listen to classical music but it just doesn't sound good to me. I guess I mostly miss the text and the words. On the other hand, I find operas and choir music to be really good.

Motrax, I love classical. But it makes me feel so.. passionate, and living, and sad. It makes me think too many things I don't want to think. Books do that to me too.

If you think that after reading a book that ends up in you crying your heart out, is good, you're odd. Music just means too much for me.

For some reason that last post reminded me of a Linkin Park song;
"... Stop crying your heart out!
(Blah blah blah, blah blah blah)
(In the same fasion as "Stop crying your heart out!", aka screamraping) Blah blah blah blah blah
(Blah blah blah, blah blah blah)
Stop crying your heart out!
(Blah blah blah, blah blah blah)
(Now singing) And then its all goooone! "
Any Linkin Park fans knows what i am talking about, I think it is on Meteora.
But i don't think they say "Stop crying your heart out!"
