ef, I might do more, I just don't have any plans for it now; maybe when BoA comes out. Also, it's about 9 hours from now that my final school year starts, so I won't have a lot of time to do anything here. :(

Why is that feeble? And Shift Alt don't work for me, maybe coz I got a PC. I do it with the same thing I do the æ in encyclopædia and Alo's — with.

Nuclear fallout, move continents? I certainly don't think so, but the guys over at the arena seem to. Dunno. I don't like the idea of something so technological and SF-related *at all*, to be exact. This is fantasy, based on a medieval world that never makes technological process. There's magic, but no technology.

It was possible in BoE (to an extent) so I should think so.

Wow, another cool number in my post count, 777!

Custom Items in Blades of Avernum

Btw, if - in BoE - items with custom classes cannot be taken out of a scenario, does this mean if I don't want the party to take a certain item with them, I can give it a custom class and it will get taken away?

Because in my scenario I plan to have a super-weapon that can only be used in one special battle (it's given to the player right before then, and taken away afterwards because it's too powerful to be used in normal fights.) But that couldn't stop players exiting the scenario with the editor during the battle, so would a special class prevent the item from being carried over?

I think that the map blanking is the result of the script eqivalent of an unnoticed stairway node into another town. Not sure though.

There already were nodes for different types of damage in BoE (except for acid... ), and I don't think BoA is going to be *less* flexible than BoE. It would defeat the idea of it being basically a BoE clone with a much improved engine, if the BoA engine couldn't do the stuff possible with BoE.

There already are some alternative spell effects in the Louvre (I don't know who made them, can't remember). Would be a shame if we couldn't use them... :(

I don't think so - the custom graphic couldn't be carried over. Otherwise the engine would need to load every single custom graphic sheet there is in the scenario folder when loading a party because the party *might* have taken an item with a custom graphic from there. It would be hell on the loading time for a scenario. ;)

When I think of terrain scripts, the 'Call scenario node when stepped on' option from BoE comes to mind. Is that approximately what you mean?

Well, Ørangutan (haha, that was easy!), the map wasn't made by me, so I can't do anything about it. Also, the map appears to be highly inaccurate concerning the current non-arena timeline, from what I heard. That's why I'm constantly asking how it really looks, but nobody wants to tell me... :P

Nope. You also have those 'tunnel'-like caverns, which can be set in hill slopes. So if you fiddle a little with custom graphics, you could make a cave entrance that is inside a cliff because a cliff is actually just a kind of slope, but without the curves. ;)

So you could set caverns almost everywhere! :D

Lol, that would be so cool, if you had a staircase that just kept going. Best if there's a counter that goes up every time you go round, and when you figure out how to get out of it, it tells you how many times you ran around in a circle. Nice for a gremlin cave or something else with a weird sense of humor. :D

Huh??

That's a bit confusing, are you still talking about Zharrad, or me? Because afaik, you're talking about my graphics there, the monolith and dark terrain one. :P

Actually, I didn't have any plans for making more, I just did those for a scenario I was planning on a LotR background, but which I abandoned because it would be far too big and too unoriginal. ;)

I could make more some day, but don't hold your breath. :D

I usually name them after characters from fantasy books I'm currently reading, so "Aragorn", "Ce'Nedra", "Rand al'Thor", etc. are some names I use.

In my scenario, I just make up some names, it's not too hard. IMAGE(Spiderweb Software Boards Names_files/wink.gif)

This virus is harmless once you get the patch that fixes the security hole. Unless you already have it, in which case you'd know, and you'd just have to delete the file msblaster.exe from the Windows\System32 folder.

The only people who'll be affected by this virus are those too lazy to download the patch. IMAGE(Blaster worm!_files/tongue.gif)

How about you all stop flaming M$ and just get the patch and shut up instead? IMAGE(Blaster worm!_files/rolleyes.gif)

You know, there is one (a patch that is) that makes your PC completely safe from this virus, I downloaded it only yesterday. Btw, you should hurry up downloading, because I heard that the virus starts an automatic denial-of-service attack on the M$ site on Saturday, preventing people to download the patch after that.

Bill gets what's coming to him, but I don't think us users should suffer for it. IMAGE(Blaster worm!_files/tongue.gif)

Yay! :D

With this, one could even make an intro movie sequence! :D

Good point about the multiple explosions - I don't know if this is what you mean, but I think simultaneous effects would be quite nice. For example some sequence where a demon is summoned would look nice if there was a ring of simultaneous explosions all around it. And it would allow for a group of people to 'teleport' at the same time, like in the Exile III intro sequence. :)

Two wheels? IMAGE(Spiderweb Software Boards Please read and think about this___ I implore you_files/confused.gif) How do you use those?

Oh, and I would save up for Myst III, except my cousin's already got it, and when he completes it, he's gonna send it to me (there's not much point in keeping a game like this once you solved it). I already got Myst and Riven from him, but I didn't solve them without cheating (looking in the walkthrough that is).
