No result for all of them.

However, lack of vision, electric sheep one, and by committee have something to do with "Marathon Trilogy", whatever that is.

Skip to my Lou is a nursery rhyme.

The last I have no idea about.

You sure that's not just an urban myth? Because I don't understand how you could run a profitable business without making sure your animals stay healthy.

PS. Sorry for the multi-posts, but, you know, can't be bothered cut-and-pasting multiple times.

Making sure animals stay healthy enough to be profitable isn't equivalent to making sure they are treated well. A chicken won't necessarily get sick enough to be less productive from living in a box its entire life, but it will definitely suffer.

Spring, what do you mean with only the letters (look at post above for the letters)? my TI 84 plus has a hole keyboard.

I have seen many calculator models, but I would really like to know what a Hole Keyboard is...

OOC: 12 hours.

Sequoia strode toward the portal and left Verwey. He probably didn't possess the password; if they were going to meet with him again, it would be they who would have to pass through and leave Verwey behind.

Lisha appeared to have that intention, for she eyed the portal critically and made a move as if to get up, as did Cyrus.

"There is another way." Melora spoke for the first time since her brief remark to Lisha after slaying the blademaster. The druid was good, she had to admit - she had been injured critically, possibly mortally, and now nothing remained of the wound in her back save a small scar that she barely noticed when running over the skin with her finger. It had been long since she felt so rested - they had slept almost till noon after last night's battle, and whatever else could be said about the cursed Verweyans, their hospitality was great.

"What do you mean?" Lisha responded to Melora's remark.

"This cave has an exit to the halls beneath the mountain. It would be easier to travel beneath the ground than to leave here and search the surface for another entrance."

"How do you know?", Andros demanded suspiciously.

"First, because I can sense it. I was not speaking idly when I said you would need someone with knowledge of the caves. Second, because we are not that far from it." Melora pointed towards a closed steel door set in the wall of the cavern, possibly a hundred paces away. Steel was uncommon - the Verweyans built with a translucent material created magically. It did not resist damage well; if the Verweyans had set in this door, they had installed it as a safety barrier against whatever lay on the other side.

"Caecus." Melora turned around to face him, but he was gone. He must have followed the druid while she had not been looking. "Doesn't matter." She went off in search of another villager who did not seem too superstitious to answer her questions.

---

When she returned a while later, it was with a triumphant smile. "I was right. The Verweyans dug a tunnel, and excavated a cave connected to the mountain's system. They were attacked and had to abandon parts of their own caves. The entrance was sealed to prevent their enemies from attacking them again. It's sealed with a locking spell, but I believe I have the correct password."

Andros was incredulous.

"And you want us to enter that infested den?"

"We're going to have to sooner or later, and whether we enter by this route or first risk our lives climbing the mountain makes little difference. But if you are afraid..."

Melora trailed off suggestively, smirking.

OOC: A potential idea. Unless we want to stick with Sequoia and Caecus, of course.

Really, Spring, get some elemental grasp of Ferret Physics before asking questions like this!

The bomb does not hold any ferrets. It produces them upon explosion, drawing the required energy from the air around it. From the design specs I saw when breaking into Alo's lab last year, depending on the environment, it can produce anything between 10^10 and 10^33 Megaferrets (MFr). I guess that has been improved upon now.

It's potentially a very good move for single PC parties, because in E3 it's impossible to put heavy armor on a mage. That means you'll have to fight either without armor or without mage spells - if you can exchange the latter for priest spells, it's a good bargain.

There's no good substitute for Haste though, and that's enormously useful with single PCs.

The flaw: People might kill people, but guns sure make it easier. Also, it is very easy to kill with a gun without intending to. Both oneself, and others.

Edit: It might be off-topic, but a debate about gun control is at least as interesting as discussions on compliments.

After Hurricane Katrina, Saudi Arabia admitted that it simply could not increase production to make up for the loss of Gulf of Mexico oil rigs. This was widely believed, albeit speculatively, to be the beginning of a final oil crisis, in which there will be no choice but to radically curtail the use of oil.
It's not just gas, by the way. The majority of the power industry, and the metal industry, and the plastics industry are directly dependent on fossil fuels, and pretty much every major industry depends indirectly on it via these. The world is running on oil, and if it peaks, there will be more effects than high gas prices.

Today's name, Bloodletting, is a real blast from the past. A widely-held theory in past centuries was that disease resulted from an imbalance of the bodily fluids. Fevers were believed to result from an excess of blood, and were therefore treated with extensive bloodletting. If the patient's condition worsened despite treatment, well, that was clear evidence that not enough blood was being taken.

Bloodletting was popular until the 19th century, when people finally started to suspect that the connection between massive blood loss and death was a causal one.

And there was absolutely no malady that could be actually cured by bloodletting? I heard it was used excessively and for many sicknesses that it had no effect on (or worsened), but not that it was utterly useless.

Is this like a "What's your religion", "How old are you", "What do you look like" etc thread in one?
---
I'm Chris. My moniker "Arancaytar" is a little older than I've been in this community (March 2003, and I joined in May), most people call me Aran. I've been 18 for exactly one and a half months, and am now in my second year of Scientific Programming in Aachen. Born in Manhattan (to German parents), and grew up in Germany for the last 16 years.

Christian protestant/agnostic/atheist. Politically, I'd describe myself as something between liberal to socialist.

I enjoy reading fantasy and science fiction (Tolkien and Asimov are my two favorites, although I'm currently devouring Lovecraft), and writing stories and roleplays. I was an avid RPG gamer a few years ago, but nowadays I only play occasionally for lack of time. I can also use Java with some skill, Javascript with a lot less, PHP with less I would like to and Maple less than I need. I speak English, German, and am learning Esperanto.

My mental problem was alternately diagnosed as Attention Deficit and as an IQ of 145, but that was before I had my wisdom tooth pulled yesterday - I sure don't feel very wise now.

I look like this:

IMAGE(http://images.polarisboard.org/arancaytar/aran.gif)

I also like to write pointlessly long bios in forums.
