Thralni, I just went offline to change worlds - didn't buy the pickaxe yet, but will do that tomorrow. Bring some money. :P

I now take a bronze pick whenever I go mining. It occasionally sells for an exorbitant price. Also, it actually does bring triple the profit to stand in the shop shouting "Selling iron longswords, 60 gold" for half an hour rather than dropping off the entire bulk at the vendor.

Was the author making stuff up, did that feature get cut, or is it just that I haven't yet mined enough to get that tired?

We just need to know all our usernames, then we will see if anyone else is currently online. I'm unable to significantly alter my schedule anyhow, so I'll have to make do with chance meetings.

I'm Arancaytar. Wiseman is Wisemanism. Thralni is Benthol. Anyone else?

I got my mithril pickaxe and managed to destroy it almost immediately. :P Repairing was cheap though.

At that speed, the fact that you're limited to 27 items (28 minus one slot for the pickaxe) and that ore doesn't stack becomes the real problem...

Or 100. Seriously. It was his offer though, not mine - perhaps he was in a hurry to get one. I sold another guy a Chef Hat for another 100 GP. Gave me a bad conscience, almost, but he was level 35.

Did you get a river troll? :P

Thralni, I died almost right after you left and lost all the stuff. But the smithing level was high enough by then to make it again.

And can you imagine what it is like to mine iron with a bronze pickaxe, surrounded by people with mithril pickaxes? You're lucky if you get a single piece... And apparently, mithril pickaxes are very hard to come by.

Apparently a moderator thought so as well.

ADOM is an unbelievably wonderful/addictive RPG, and it's 100% freeware.

Side note: Good stories take devotion, but graphics take money. A devoted programmer is more likely to offer free games than a developer (or a studio) who already invested in graphics. Still, TANSTAAFL. ;)

NetStorm is a very fun and somewhat unconventional strategy game. (Unconventional in that practically all units are immobile, requiring a very different strategy from other games.)

It's still "Arancaytar". Watch for the #2984 and the "Very Important Date" under the name, and you know it's me. :P

Level 12 now, and currently (whenever I can log in) traveling between Varrock and Lumbridge and back, mining and smithing stuff. I'll be there tonight I hope. :)

Yes. It's similar with drinking and posting, except no one can get killed.

I wonder if we are ever going to see cars with a built-in breathalyzer that locks down when the driver is drunk.

I am a bit confused. For some reason I got the impression that Belisarius was a multi account of TM, although that appears to not be the case. I don't know what gave me the impression.

My advice: Avoid message boards when intoxicated. It leads to unpredictable results.

The problem is that I know my keyboard so well that whenever I try to hit random letters I instead come up with random words. I close my eyes and what comes out is no different form what I wrote before I did so.

Well, except for the "form".

As a matter of fact, there's no such thing as a "paid InvisionFree forum". The only enhancement you can pay for is the removal of the ad banner.

However, there is a paid software named Invision Power Board (often confused with InvisionFree), which is what powers Polaris. I've worked with it, and it's very easy to maintain. The downside is the price. It's worth it if you already have a solid community, but for anyone else I'd recommend something free (phpBB for self-hosted sites, or InvisionFree). Boards come and boards die, and you'll regret it later when you have an expensive software package lying around that you have no use for.
