I'd wouldn't advise the take out of town command. There are alot of triggers that were activated and toggled in Stalkers Fortress, it might mess up your file. I would try to edit the game manually, so you aren't auto killed.

Besides, spells use up 5 ap. Just give casters Quick Strike or the Dress of Speed later. Not only will they attack earlier, but they will have 6 ap instead of 5.

If the bandits banded together they would win. First all supply routes would be cut off, due to the danger of traveling roads. Then the bandits would slowly pillage each town and demoralize the opposing forces. Then, with sufficient towns and reinforcements, they would kill off all the dragons and such with superior numbers.

They can also steal the horses.

Edit: Come to think of it, haven't bandits always won? Think of Rome, arguably the most poweful empire to ever exist. Bandits/Raiders were one of the biggest contributions to its decline.

I was way too tired by the time I reached Khoth the second time to kill him. When you run through every possible dungeon in ZKR you tend to get a little anxious to finish.

The rewards I got for giving Khoth all the unique items sucked. Come on, Slippers of Speed and Mithril Woven Robe? You have to be kidding me.

My first party consisted of a Defensive Slith Warrior, a very high powered Nephilim Archer, and a Nephilim Priest/Mage, all Divinely Touched. My Slith was a brick wall, he took all the damage for my team and dished out quite a bit as well. He focused on Parry, Riposte, and Blademaster. My archer was the heavy hitter of my group, and I never had to worry about other archers and casters. He easily dished out 2x130 damage per turn with his bow skills. He also doubled in Tool Use. My mage/priest was mainly for support, but occasionally used Cloud of Blades for the tough fights. The benefit of having a Defensive character is that they are practically immune to Cloud of Blades, while it hit the enemy for over 100 damage.

My second party consisted of one Female Ninja type human, and a Female Paladin. Both were divinely touched. Like my earlier defensive Slith, my Ninja used many defensive skills and had tool use. She was also decent with bows. Since the enemies were never able to hit her, I never had to worry about her dying. My Paladin's defense was horrible, and she usually got ripped to shreds. But after warblessing herself she was a fighting machine. She is extremely close to getting lethal blow.

Both these parties beat all of Jeff's scenerios on Torment.

An interesting bug in Blades of Avernum

The second one is actually supposed to happen. If you could just render your enemies completely useless but still hurt them, the game would be too easy and the spell would be unbalanced. (Cloud of Blades is probably just a bug.) Forcecage, still, is a very powerful and helpful spell. I'm not quite sure about the first one.

They are down a cliff, just south of the Melopa Fortress. After scaling the cliff take a right and follow the path until you reach a cave.

If you kill Maynard and not Vahkohs you get an alternate ending. So the one you got is actually unique for that path.

I wasn't planning on killing Maynard as well, but after being attacked by his own guards upon leaving his keep, I changed my mind.

Small Rebellion: Stuck on the sewers in Blades of Avernum

The first run through the sewers is always difficult, due to the long passages leading nowhere. I just beat it a second time so this is simple.

The porticullus is at the end of a long path that leads alongside the water. The path is located on the left side of the river. The river is on the left side of the building entitled, "Waste Outflux Control." The porticullus will open if you operate the controls in the Waste Outflux Control. The key is hiding in a building, inside a desk, past the porticullus.

If Jeff ever makes another Exile/Avernum game, Vahnatai will not be anything more than NPCs, unless the game is set underground. Vahnatai will die if ever exposed to sunlight.

Add something like Slithzerakai and Nephilim with their own stats, and let those characters join your party?
Wait, what? You can already have Slithzerikai and Nephilim in your party. Just click on the race portrait in the character creation screen.

Can you make it so that when you create a party, you can get different races?
Only if you are good at hacking and programing.

Za-Khazi Run question in Blades of Avernum

If you are having too hard a time I would suggest lowering the difficulty. Next you should look at your character design and make sure you aren't putting points in useless skills, your fighters and archers should be dishing out damage atleast above 80. Finally, you need to put a sense of strategy into your battles. Don't just rush warriors off blindly, make sure they are well protected and ready to retreat if needed. I'd suggest giving them a few potions for extreme battles, just in case.

Above all, use protection spells and cloud of blades.

Hold on, Giant Slayer? I beat it in 13 days and got a Blessed Greatsword. It was more disapointing than the Mithril Chainmail I got for beating a Small Rebellion.

EDIT: Anyone know what that key I found after killing the three Ice Drakes is for? I found it in one of my games, but it was so far out of the way I decided to leave it alone.

True, but summoning takes all the fun out of the game, I mean why develop your characters when you can just summon something. Plus, I heard that it also eats up your exp gain.

Besides, you should try Cloud of Blades. :P

Edit: If you can't win without using summons, you should rethink your character designs.

Actually your stat placement does affect your, "rank." My Mage/Priest is something like Master Spellcaster. My Fighter and Archer are both Swashbucklers.

It is true that characters with one job tend to be more powerful than multi-classers, but when playing with a singleton or a two person party it is important to multi-class to get your required war bless.

Besides, in a fight, a Priest/Fighter could easily kill three powerful Fighters, with one war bless.

Go to the BoA Editor folder and look at the "BoA Editor Docs V12" application. It is a giant help file.

Then look under "Creating Custom Objects."
From there you can explore creating custom creatures, items, floors, etc. It is not hard once you learn how.

Copy the templates Drakefyre posted and copy them in Notepad, Wordpad, etc. Then fill in the blanks.

That was a bit confusing...

Some Spoilers

There is a control panel in the middle of the School's Waste Facility. That is what you need to activate.

However, before you can activate the control panel and win, you must restore power to that area, by traveling through the lower levels of the school into a secret valley. (You will have to fight quite a few very dangerous monsters, so be prepared.) Travel through the valley until you reach a tower at the end. Inside the tower you will find a switch to get power back to the Waste Facility.

Hope that is what you needed.
