Semi Spoilers - - - - - - - - - - - The demon captmurdock talks about is actually a Haakai, but you don't have to fight him to get the poppy shrooms. I believe there are two areas in the Deep Caverns with the poppy shrooms, both of which are far out of reach. I know one area is located in the far northeast. Once you have stumbled onto the area, you will recieve a message stating that you have found the poppy shrooms. Then just go back the way you came. I would advise that you explore the whole cavern, checking for secret passages. There is some nice stuff down there. You can steal the Dragon Scroll from Morgoth (or whatever his name is) later, so dont accept it as payment. Hold out until he (she?) offers the two other treasures. Edit: Check Catapults post for teh corrections. I'm too lazy to make them. If you wanted your scenerio to take place after Avernum 3, you could always go for a cliche loyalist scenerio. Or if you are feeling really up to the task a scenerio about what would have happened if you hadn't succeeded in Avernum 3. Think about it, the apocolypse of the surface and the escape to Avernum. (I actually don't know the end of Avernum 3 because I never finished the game.) I recently tried playing a two player party on Torment difficulty without the convenience of spells (including wands). The alternative was alchemy, so I had one of my characters master it. VOTD was a bit difficult, there weren't many ingredients, and I didn't want to waste them on low level potions. I eventually beat the scenerio using the potions I found and using my Divinely Touched skill :) . SR would have been easier if I had access to higher level potions. With a high level wood lore skill, I found a ton of ingredients for potions (along with a few nice items.) I eventually just used the potions found in the scenerio, instead of wasting my ingredients on low level potions, although the slime pit was a real pain. I finally reached VKR and got my hands on some decent potion recipies. I was sure that the Strength and Haste elixer would have the same effect as a good war blessing. In the beginning I ran into a camp of Slith Warriors, relatively easy enemies, comparatively. After using a Strenght Elixer on my warrior/alchemist I sent him headlong into battle, only to be promptly massacred. I thought that the Strenght Elixer would, at least, make the enemy miss a few times. Was I sure wrong. The only potions that seem worth getting are the restoration brew, heroic brew, and the invulnerability potion. Are anyone elses potions this weak? What am I doing wrong? avoidant You've all see the picture, so I won't bother posting it. I found for almost all of the questions I'd either want to pick two or three of the answers, or that none of the answers discribed me. Nonetheless the description of avoidant felt close to home. No one hates me, yet no one likes me. I can get along with anyone, yet that may be why I have no close friends. Usually some people really like you and some people hate you. Life is kind of boring when nobody cares that you are here at all. Edit: Ironically I tend to be a natural leader; people tend to look for me for help and guidence. I feel better when I'm directing people my way, instead of following their orders, whether subconciously or forcefully. :) [ Friday, July 30, 2004 23:03: Message edited by: The Artist Formally Known as Slith ] Posts: 1233 | Registered: Wednesday, October 3 2001 07:00 |

I have a Miniature Schnauzer named Tucker. My friends deem him as the most vicious and terrorizing animal to have ever walked the earth. He barks alot... If anyone here owns a small dog, I'm sure they know what I'm talking about. Posts: 1233 | Registered: Wednesday, October 3 2001 07:00 |

A puzzle needs to be challenging but fun. Please note: An easy or obvious puzzle feels like a waste of time thrown into a dungeon to slow someone down, and usually pisses off the player. Its very easy to make a hard puzzle seem more like work than fun. Take for example in Exile 2, in the Tomb of Delrin-Bok. There was a switch in each corner of the very large tomb, and they needed to be in set specific order. The tomb was filled with many respawning monsters, including Black Shades and Guardians. By the end of the dungeon I was ready to frag' my computer with a baseball bat. Posts: 1233 | Registered: Wednesday, October 3 2001 07:00 |

Wow I'm destined to Limbo... I'm strangely and eerily dissapointed... Here is how you matched up against all the levels: Level | Score Purgatory | Very Low Level 1 - Limbo | Very High Level 2 | Low Level 3 | Moderate Level 4 | Very Low Level 5 | Low Level 6 - The City of Dis | High Level 7 | Moderate Level 8- the Malebolge | Low Level 9 - Cocytus | Low Posts: 1233 | Registered: Wednesday, October 3 2001 07:00 |

If you are into fantasy you could always try reading some Dragonlance novels. All the ones by Margret Weis or Tracy Hickman are very good. Otherwise, Richard A. Knaak is a great author, except he tends to reiterate how beautiful his women characters are, every freaking chapter. Not that thats a bad thing... : perverted grin : Posts: 1233 | Registered: Wednesday, October 3 2001 07:00 |

If you talked to Maynard and asked about the mission, but got no key, its probably a glitch in your game. You can give yourself the key by going to "add special item" in the character editor. Just make sure you get the right number. Posts: 1233 | Registered: Wednesday, October 3 2001 07:00 |

After you kill the Guardian Spectre, and both the stairways become open, go to the other Gremlin infested level. In the southwest corner there will be a small room with a dark alter. Enter it, and the Bound Infernal will eventually appear. Warning, he has low health, but all the mage spells. Posts: 1233 | Registered: Wednesday, October 3 2001 07:00 |

OOC: Alright, because this RP is not as confusing as it was and because I was asked, I'll roleplay my character again. If I mess up somewhere, cut me some slack and correct me. IC: quote:The people slowly circled around Oskoth, many wore large grins over the lines of pain and sorrow, that now scared their faces. Every one of them carried some sort of crude homemade weapon, varying from broken-off table legs to rolling pins, a few men (who Glen determined as the only decent warriors of the group) carried small crossbows. They made no noise, all were completely silent, Glen even had to slow his own breathing to keep hidden. It was all too strange, they just stood there silently, staring at Oskoth, with the same large grins. Glen couldn't put his finger on it, but there was something else strange about these people he hadn't touched on yet. Something about them didn't seem right at all. It became apparent. Glen wondered why he hadn't noticed. Every one of their stares were blank, as if they didn't even notice they were there, as if reality meant nothing anymore. He couldn't tell, for sure, if they were insane, but they definately looked the part. Then something happened. One of the men slowly reached down and wiped his fingers in Oskoth's slowly forming puddle of blood. He then brought it up close to his face. His eyes grew wider and his grin broadened. Seeming satisfied he showed it to everyone else. "Look... shifter... dead." The unearthly howls and shrieks of, presumed, laughter that followed terrified Glen, he now knew that they were insane. The only good news was that Oskoth was alive and breathing (he could tell by the way his chest rose and fell) and the people were certain he was dead. Glen would have to somehow distract the people away from Oskoth, long enough to drag him to a safe point. Unfortunately the laughter was a bit too loud. As it died down, slow footsteps were heard outside, gradually becoming louder. Every head turned as the door slowly creaked open. OOC: Again, please correct any mistakes. -------------------- Live teh fez. Posts: 1233 | Registered: Wednesday, October 3 2001 07:00 |

Actually no. If you agree to help Vahkohs he keeps up his end of the bargain. If you try to smash the crystal like he asked, it teleports to a more secure location before you can destroy it. So you have to fight through Maynard's men (including the lord himself) to reach the crystal. Then when you destroy it, Vahkhos teleports you to safety. However to kill Vahkhos, one must simpily perform the ritual that Maynard taught you, then return to the basement of his castle, where the barriers are open. If you do not want to get on Maynard's bad side, obey his orders and don't tell any one about his dealings with the vampire. There is nothing good in Stalker's fortress anyway. I think there is a Blessed Bow, but you can find that in the Deep Cavern in ZKR, and buy one in DWTD (along with a Blessed Crossbow and good bolts and arrows.) Posts: 1233 | Registered: Wednesday, October 3 2001 07:00 |
