Sounds just like my loyalist Shocktrooper. :)

Shaper Trueweave is my favorite armor for any of my characters, especially because it only weighs 2 pounds. Ha! :D

To be honest, I'm not sure. It just came off the top of my head, really. But I think it was from some book by George Grant.

Interesting that there are so many versions of the quote out there. Makes you wonder about its authenticity. Personally, I think he did say something like that, but so many people repeated it that it was recorded half a zillion different ways.

Viability of Lifecrafter investing heavily in spells in Geneforge 4: Rebellion

My first lifecrafter cast aura of flames non-stop throughout the whole last battle in the Inner Shaping Hall. Oh, and lets not forget his pet eyebeasts! And all those friendly drakons. All in all, those Shapers got pretty scorched.

However, this kind of thing doesn't usually work, since it leaves the lifecrafter very vulnerable to attack. I suggest more of a blessing magic focus.

Yeah, I was a little surprised to see that in a Spiderweb game. No wonder Oliver (A4) said what he did about Avernite women...

Destroying towns is only fun when they're really hard, such as Porphyra if you're a rebel. That's what I call an enjoyable challenge. Mass murder of defenseless townspeople, on the other hand, is quite pointless.

Okay, I meant no offense. How was I supposed to know? :( I had just been reading Dikiyoba's stories, that's all. But now I have the facts straight. :)

Hope that didn't sound too sarcastic. Because it wasn't meant to be that way.

Seriously, romance doesn't have to be bad. ;)

War is a difficult situation for love, though. But it would be kind of intriguing. Remember the little room in Khyryk's Tower in G3 where you find out something rather romantic about his previous life? I want to know more on that.

Mental Magic? in Geneforge 4: Rebellion

As a lifecrafter, I use very little mental magic, but some spells (mental barrier, unlock, dominate/charm) are extremely helpful once in a while. Despite its sheer awesomeness, I have never cast mass madness with any character in any Geneforge game, because you can always find more than enough madness gems for those situations.

Newbie Character Question in Geneforge 4: Rebellion

I like Lifecrafter best, but Shocktrooper is great if you've played "missile Guardians" in the past. Serviles can become virtually indestructible characters if you get lots of shielding spells (steel skin, essence shield/armor, augmentation, elemental cloak, etc.) And now that you can attack even with only 1 AP left, melee characters have a new edge.

Alorael is absolutely right. Which keeps us Christians on our toes, right? It should.

Stillness is right too, sort of. But it's so deep in the subconscious that it's hardly worth saying openly.

Maybe this thread isn't dead yet. Whether that is of any consequence, we shall see.

It depends which way the Celt's arm is moving. If he is already swinging down, he has a decent chance of lopping of the Roman's arm without getting a scratch. :D

You probably had the wrong kind of lenses. If you have bad astigmatism (like me) but you don't get special lenses for it, weird things can happen.

Even though contacts are a pain sometimes, they're worth it. You never have to worry about them getting scratched, falling off and getting stepped on, etc.

Wait a second... remind me why we're talking about this?

Virtually immune to acid of any sort, tantalum is known for its ability to remain unaffected by nearly any reagent. Yet it is capable of containing vast reserves of energy, making it a common element in modern technology. However, it is not without danger - tantalum dust is highly explosive when flamed, and could be used to greatly intensify the deadliness of nuclear weaponry. And Ta could also stand for Taliesin.

A bit long, but it's a start. I don't expect to be included for some time yet - although I've been a Spiderweb fan for a long time, I only recently joined the forums.

Actually, I'm reading Song of Albion right now. How come I didn't know about the new series?!? I need to check that out!

Of all the Pendragon Cycle characters, Merlin is my favorite because I can really identify with his personality. Taliesin is a cooler name though. :D

I prefer the Geneforge series because of the way everything moves (spaces annoy me a bit), because the Travel screen saves so much time, and because I like singletons much better than parties.

I have also played part of Avernum 4 and I just started Nethergate:Resurrection.

Given Synergy's perspective on religion, I'm not surprised he left whatever church he grew up in. Whenever someone treats religion that way (and unfortunately there are many), they give their faith a bad name.

When religion is at odds with spirituality, that religion has serious problems. But I think it is unfair to say that this is always the case. That's not my religion. If it was, I too would quickly outgrow it.

Somewhere, Synergy, there is a good church waiting for you. A church that sees God's truth as truly liberating. A church that does not seek to control you. A church with true faith. I hope you will find it someday.
