My mom made me read "I kissed dating goodbye" by Josh Harris. My girlfriend thought that was rather funny. :P -------------------- "We were meant to live for so much more. Have we lost ourselves?" - Switchfoot ---- My poetry Posts: 432 | Registered: Tuesday, September 18 2007 07:00 |

I am not pleased with the current choice of candidates. Many of them have some good strengths, but nobody really jumps out as The Candidate. Especially among the Republicans. Years ago, Sean Hannity predicted a Hillary vs. Giuliani election. I hope he was wrong, but it could happen. -------------------- "We were meant to live for so much more. I suggest always looking at the little bar at the bottom of your browser (at least it is on mine) before clicking a link like that. For instance, on this one you can see the query ?ubb=delete_topic. Just to be safe. I've been tricked by these things before. -------------------- "We were meant to live for so much more. I agree. As I just said in the other Geneforge forum, G4's intriguing decision process is unheard of in the mainstream RPG world. It would make a much better story (or stories) than almost any other game out there. I like it. :D -------------------- "We were meant to live for so much more. Oooh, hard question. I pick G4 because it has the most intriguing decision process. -------------------- "We were meant to live for so much more. Have we lost ourselves?" - Switchfoot ---- My poetry Posts: 432 | Registered: Tuesday, September 18 2007 07:00 |

Which makes the canister system perfect, because it's supposed to have a psychological effect. Just like SoT pointed out earlier. -------------------- "We were meant to live for so much more. Ooh, that's a nifty trick, moving away by clicking objects. I must remember that. :) I wonder why Jeff added that rule of no moving after attacking. Any ideas? -------------------- "We were meant to live for so much more. Have we lost ourselves?" - Switchfoot ---- My poetry Posts: 432 | Registered: Tuesday, September 18 2007 07:00 |

That's good to know about A5. Even though it's not terribly realistic, it's nice to be able to pick up twenty-five iron bars in a dungeon and not worry about running home right away. I guess my slith tank will have to carry most everything, since none of the others will ever have many points in strength. Still, encumbrance is nasty for characters that have to use several AP just to get withing striking distance of the enemy. I had considered the tactic of picking stuff up only after clearing the area, but in many areas that's just not practical. -------------------- "We were meant to live for so much more. Forgive me if this has already been discussed, but is it a good idea to designate a party member as a packhorse, spending all their skill points on strength and such? Or the reduced fighting efficiency of your party a bit much relative to the amount of XP you are getting? I haven't done much in the Avernum games, but I always wondered who to give the heavy stuff to. Added: This is essentially the "Deadweight Shaper" idea from the Geneforge series. I didn't use it much in those games, but I thought it might be nice in a party. It's just like all those Geneforge collection quests (research notes, special herbs, etc.) In most cases they're not only the best price you'll get, but a nifty source of free XP in later levels. (There are some exceptions to the last bit though.) -------------------- "We were meant to live for so much more. My new G4 character will try a lethal combo of loyalism (result: better training) and canister obsession. To avoid a bad ending, he will also be a Trakovite. Power-gaming, much? I find all this New Math a bit confusing, but it's definitely not spam. It's vastly more intellectual than any flame war or spamfest could ever hope to be. By the way, sorry for the gargantuan spam post earlier. I had not yet attained enlightenment on the situation. *assumes lotus position* My (math/logic genius) brother would love this thread... -------------------- "We were meant to live for so much more.
