By the way, why are war tralls only from canisters? I thought they were a new Shaper creation.

If you're only trying to avoid bad canister effects, you might try just one wingbolt canister to get unstable firebolts. They have a half-life, but they have extra AP, a fire attack, and the magic resistance of a wingbolt, making them amazingly useful (especially against wingbolts). You could also take a drayk canister if you want, but it's your choice.

Edit: I'm not sure exactly how many canisters it takes to be adversely affected, but I know you can use at least six safely.

Many secondary creations in G4 are unstable, due to crazy lifecrafter techniques that previously just weren't around. The only unstable creation I really like having available is the unstable firebolt (upgrade of wingbolt).

Um... cool? Don't see why it should be necessarily that helpful, but one might find a use for such knowledge. You could also back up old games in a special directory, for better preservation.

Whereas that level of caution is good if you don't have virus protection, its probably a little excessive. You just have to learn what to trust, and how to tell when something's a little iffy. :P

Example: Limewire is not your friend, for although he will give you free music, he will attempt all sorts of nefarious things if you ask him for videos or programs. I learned this when I accidentally downloaded some viruses and... other weird stuff when I was looking for free games and music videos.

I'd like to see some real Shaper civilization. Not just little forts and stuff. Sure, Dhonal's Keep was neat, but I want to see the real thing.

Prepare to be crushed beneath the essence-infused-iron fist of the Shapers!

You have to admit the Shapers understand this principle well, whether their complaining subjects do or not.

My qualms about fanatical loyalism are dissolving away. How refreshing. :) I hope this means more acceptance for Khyryk among the Shaper mainstream...

With something as basic as GIFs (not GIFTS), you would have to look through quite a few pages before you got any dangerous links. I have not verified this myself, but it seems logical. Doesn't it, Iffy?

Lately, I've become rather disillusioned with both Democrats and Republicans, but if I have to pick I'll say Republican. I'm also totally pro-Shaper. Yeah! :D

As always, I uphold the establishment because I see nothing better to uphold. Except possibly the Awakened.

And I'd start with Java. It coddles the programmer in a way C doesn't by extensively safe-guarding against certain errors - but doesn't spoil the programmer by using weak variable types like PHP.

Technically they were Internet program scripts, not actual programs. The stuff WildTangent uses all the time. Hardly documents.

I had heard that starting with C/C++ can often lead to devilishly complicated coding unnecessarily, so I think I'll look into Java a bit. Thanks for the advice.

So far, I know just enough HTML to severely modify certain programs (and almost hack some WildTangent stuff, but I decided it wasn't worth my time). Since HTML isn't a "real" programming language, I'm trying to find something that is easy to work with, yet has a lot of capability and can function as a foundation for learning other languages. Any idea how I should start?

And I'm doing fantabulously, by the way. :)

You find the Black Key in Northforge (just look everywhere and you'll find it in a chest). Then go back to Monarch's place and use the Key on the Black Door. Through the trapdoor is the Sealed Catacombs, and under that is the Pit of the Titan.

I like the wrist-as-thorn-baton idea, but overall it looks like an unholy combination of Star Wars and Diablo bad guys. Which is freaky but kind of cool.

Argh. I don't like the idea of talk credits, mainly because my girlfriend and I would have to buy so many for every conversation we have that we would deplete your stingy regime of speech. ;)

How did I pwn everyone in authoritarianism, by the way? Does that put me at the top of the Tyrant Watch List? Other than possibly Dintiradan...

G3-why do you dislike it in Geneforge Series
Infiltrator
Member # 10578

Actually, the "black-and-white-ness" of Are You a Loyalist or Rebel? in G3 tends to promote playing through it twice, since there are so many plot events that will be totally different (like assassinating powerful Shapers instead of purging Rebel towns, for instance).

To me, "rebuild damaged body parts" sounds like limb replacement is an option. I don't know how easy it would be to do, what it would look like, or how functional the resulting limb would be, but it sounds like it's possible.

Dikiyoba.

I stand corrected. That makes me feel a bit better about that part of Shaper law. Although I still think they would do well to keep some of that DNA research from Sucia. However, that knowledge is very easy to abuse, so I don't know. It's all part of the dilemma that makes the Geneforge world so interesting.
