Hello all,
Just checking on scenarios in development.

There is currently one in betatesting--
Bahssikava

There is another in betatesting limbo--
Undead Valley

Several people have mentioned that they are working on scenarios.

Overwhelming-- Roussa
Dahak-- Longshanks
Supanik-- The Yedda Prophecy
Demonslayer-- The Edge of Cipirus

Some have also listed that they are working on as
yet unnamed scenarios.

Poit, Venom, Killercrono.

Just checking in.

Edge of Cipirus is dead.

Another is in development... a comedy: Saint Brevity and the Oochie Squad. Actually quite compelling if I can ever bring myself to make any more progress.

Edit: Though... I'm rather positive that it would work better on BOE. But we'll just see...

I've restarted work on "Eye of the Storm", this time in Blades of Avernum. Seeing as it is now more than three years, I wouldn't hold my breath. :rolleyes:

I'm working on 2 - The Yedda Prophecy, which is 90% done, and Hope, which I'm plotting and drawing terrain for.

The reason for Hope is that I had ideas that couldn't be implemented into TYP which deserved to be in there. Plus I got a little bored. But, don't worry, I've split my time between them equally.

I've more or less reconciled myself to the fact that I'll never actually do anything for BoA no matter how hard I try, and instead I have been making absurd monsters for BoA which no one with a fear of God and a love for mankind will ever use.

I'm about a quarter of the way through the one i'm working on now but seem to have lost all interest lately for some reason,
probably because I made the classic newbie mistake by being too ambitious regarding its scale.

Yeah, I was just browsing through all of the topics and noticed this one. Anywho, I'm nearly finished with my own scenario. I'd say one week tops and I'll be needing some beta testers.

I've got a scenario in the begining development stages. I'm writing out a plot and reading helpfiles/the cookbook on how to script. Once I've got a fair handle on the editor, I'll begin work. Don't hold your breath, I'm trying to keep from getting overambitious. But hey, I've made huge mods for WCIII in the past, so maybe I won't be effected as much :P

I can only hope. Anyway, if anyone wants to help give ideas for the scenario, hope over to Idea for Scenario topic, Blades of Avernum forum.

Back to the update: What is currently in development.

Since I last checked Lost Bahssikava, Canopy, and Backwater Calls came out.

There were others in development:

Dahak-- Longshanks
Retr-O-- Saint Brevity and the Oochie squad
Supanik-- The Yedda Prophecy and Hope
Overwhelming-- Roussa

Poit, Venom, and Killercrono were working on unspecified works.

Jonah Zolohahni-- is starting another one.
Terrors Martyr-- requesting graphics for new scenario.

Lynkfox-- mentioned was working on mob graphics for a new scenario with his girlfriend.

Roussa is in a very slow development.

It's meant to be a compelling mystery adventure, with strong (characters/personalities) NPCs. Plus some surprises.

Unfortunately, it won't be easy to pass from the paper to the editor. I'm considering the Editor's and AvernumScript's limits and trying to adjust the project to them, without loosing the initial quality objectives.

I must be sure that the project is executable before spending hours in the editor to find out that I can't do this or that, and change the scenario for the worse.

I think I was caught in the perfectionism trap. I'm considering about making a small and much less ambitious scenario first. To practice.

But Roussa, on the paper, is almost done. Just some pending difficulties still hanging. I guess I will put it aside for a while and start planning a smaller scenario. :)

lol, but the scenario is coming along fine regardless. While i do know C++, so avernumscript isnt too hard to grasp, i still ahve to work my way around it.

i have recently started my own scenario the way of the guild . i,m just starting so it,s gonna be a while though had to restart few times. and i,m still learning scripting so dont hold your breath

I'm in preliminary stages of working on something, so I hope to not be all talk and no show, but I haven't dived into the scripting too far and don't know how well I'll manage that part. I've got custom graphics, objects, towns and other things in the works already though.

And of course lots of people start things and don't get anywhere, so who knows if anything of mine will ever see the light of day. I might try for small pieces released individually and then sew them together later or something.

Undead Valley is in its 8th beta version. Oops sorry. I think its detractors scared away Archmagi Michael which is too bad because although it can be terrible at points there are a lot of very interesting tricks and fights throughout the scenario. He stopped posting in November of 2004.

I'm currently stuck. I just can't express.

How observant- yes, I am working on another scenario. It will be the first scenario to date to have the party be a specie other than human, nephil or slith. I am comfortable enough with it to speak openly of it.

Tentative title is Day of the Ursidae. And no, it is not the sequel to Canopy. Rather, this scenario focuses on the interaction between a beleaguered party and a cunning, cutthroat villain who goes by the name of Sonzoku Satsujin.
