Is that your voice? It seems somehow incongruent with your pic. Most likely because I never really thought about it and always just picture everyone sounding American.

Absolutely love the accent though. Give us one that uses Australian slang. :)

Yes, it's my voice. I'm not going to drag some other poor sap in front of a microphone just so he can tell the world how to pronounce "Thuryl".

Well it turns out I've been pronouncing it correctly all along then. Thanks for clearing that up though...

*grumble* Of course two people had to post in the time it took me to edit!

*grumble!* And I also had to edit out typos in this one!

Also, it seems I have been pronouncing it correctly too. Yay!

Mine includes slang. However, Kel was hosting it, and it seems not to work any more. :(

I could do a new one if someone's willing to host it.

I don't think you sound british. Okey, maybe a little bit but not so much that one couldn't tell the difference.

I love your accents, Ash and Thuryl :)

Thuryl, you sound a little different than I might have thought (due to the younger pic, maybe), but you don't really sound British to me.

Thuryl sounds more British than Aussie.

tAsh why didn't you put in 'how ya goin?'? It is used much more than 'hooroo' where I have been

I suppose I could get my voice here, but it would most likely be very scratchy - my MP3 player's mic is not the best. Even when I do get it, I would have no-one to host it. Unless photobucket do sound hosting?

Hmm. It seems that I was lengthening the name a bit more than necessary. Good to know the right pronunciation, though.

The last time the discussion on accents and such came up, I put up a clip of my own voice. I'd do it again, but it'd hardly be as interesting as Ash or Thuryl's clips- after all, an Aussie accent is exotic, but who gives a damn about the bland, practically nonexistent accent of the American Midwest? :P

And he talks like a host too. Wow, there are no words to describe my amazement. Btw, Ash’s accent = HOT. He sounds much more British than Thuryl does. and I loved the "You all know who I'm talking about so there is no need to embarrassed myself" part.

It doesn't take a fine ear to distinguish an Aussie from a Briton.

Ash sounds like the poster child of the Aussie accent, if accents went on posters.

—Alorael, who wants to hear Ash pronounce Kel's scenario. C'mon, Ash! (Which one was it when that was spoken? Bahssikava?)

It was Bahssikava, yes, and he threw the stress on the wrong syllable of my name, too, but you don't see me complaining, no, never.

Sorry, Kel.

Spring: At least I said G'day. :P

I absolutely do not sound more British than Thuryl. However, I'm hardly the poster child for the Aussie accent. I've been asked if I was American on numerous occasions.

I may as well do this. If someone will host it, I would be able to get my voice for all you people. But be warned: It will not be the best quality.

I found that thread, but many of the clips didn't work. I'd like to hear your voice if you decide to post it.

I'd consider posting, but I don't have even the slightest accent :P

Ash, you sound Aussie to me, and I've never heard an American sound like that :)

ADoS hosted it for me that time, and perhaps I could cajole him into doing it again. Or maybe I could try Desp. I'll see what I can do.

Dolphin, you've got no less of a reason to post a voice clip than I do, as I'd bet my accent is even more nonexistent than yours. :P

Stug has an accent you could break bricks with.

I've recorded another one with an attempt at pronouncing Bahssikava if anyone will host it.

Eh? I don't comprehend. Is this another example of the vaunted "Aussie slang?"
