ADoS, I already knew he had dropped out, I just didn't feel like changing my vote until you started telling me to.

As noted the game is tied 19-19, with 1 run scored by the grounds crew. So archeological tidbits from election.

Persons registered <1000 are fairly evenly split between the two remaining candidates.

Persons registered >1000 and <3600 heavily favor Stugri-La.

Persons registered >3600 heavily favor Thuryl.

Of the remaining voters, 5 are in the first category, 3 in the 2nd, and 11 in the final catogery.

This should make for an excellent scrum-off, with hordes of newbies focused on the goal line while veterans begin the thinning of the herd procedure. Be gentle.

I didn't "tell you to". You hadn't posted so I assumed you didn't know. I just informed you that Aran had dropped out and that you should change your vote if you wanted it to count.

After long thought, and even looking into Desperance posts,
I vote for Stughalf,

although among the posts that I enjoy Thuryl's are clearly more frequent.
But this is for a moderator's joba and Thuryl, I would hate to see you holding back with your posts because you are a moderator.

You know this was a waste of time if Drakey decides to say no at the end. Then we got all excited for nothing. Or perhaps he means to install some kind of a puppet modship. You never can trust those 5 year olds--or is he 6 now?

Alorael votes Thuryl.

Voting is now over.

EDIT: James is 7, and no vote switching is allowed after the polls close.

It is not a waste of time. The result may be no new moderator, but that doesn't mean it was a wasted experience.

Edit -
Stugri-La (Ferret Party) 20 goals
Arancaytar (retired) 1 goal
Thuryl (Juicy Party) 22 goals

75% turnout

let the blood tensioning commence!

Well, it's that time, I suppose. I formally concede this election. My warmest congratulations to Thuryl, who will make a fine moderator. Eminently qualified, reasonable, suited to the position in every way. He will do the moderating staff and these boards proud.

As a candidate, I was something of a dark horse from the start, and although I always felt that I was qualified I never truly expected to make it this far in these elections. I'd like to thank the entire electorate for making my run possible. I'd also like to give special thanks to several members for their public support and encouragement. To Wise Man, Alec, Aran, FBM, and anyone I might be forgetting: I couldn't have come close to as far as I did without your help, and I thank you sincerely for it.

I'd also like to thank Thuryl himself, for being a fine and upstanding opponent. His never-faltering respectfulness and civility lent itself fully to the latter stages of these election proceedings, creating an atmosphere conducive to a fair and enjoyable election.

Well, that about concludes what I wished to say. Again, congratulations to Thuryl, and my thanks to the electorate and the community as a whole.

Stughalf out.

I'm just curious what happened to TGM's vote. Well, Thuryl wins enough as it is but scarce with one single vote.

:) Congratulations Thuryl.
;) And congratulation, Stugie, for your estimable success being only one vote fewer.

Congratulations, Thuryl! Congratulations on making Thuryl sweat, Stugie!

—Alorael, who was going to edit his vote into his first post in this topic and then demand a recount. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to access Spiderweb at all in time for his supposed last minute vote, and then it didn't matter anyway. That's probably what he deserves.

I was keeping a weather eye on your machinations. Although your Peruvian pilaster plan was a good one, I already had it countered with the Fijian dog paddle.

We can all look forward to the next election, which some of us may or not remember. It would have been more interesting if Stug had won, mostly as it would have been cause for another custom title to be generated from the code name book employed by the overseers. As the results (pending tensioning) stand, there will be no Blademaster to challenge the sniper.

Thank you to everyone who voted for me. Thank you to everyone who voted for someone else as well, for expressing your views and helping to make the process fair.

Congratulations to Stughalf for his strong showing in the election; from reading people's explanations for their votes, one can clearly see that there was strong popular support for both of us, and that either of us would most likely have been widely accepted by the community if appointed as moderator.

Now to have my blood stretched.

A couple quick questions here:

1. When is Thuryl going to be modded?

2. I suppose there can be more than 4 moderators per forum on UBB...

With regard to your second question, no, there cannot be more than four moderators for a single forum. One of the existing mods will have to step down for Thuryl to become a part of the staff. All bets are off as to which mod will be the one to go. They're all so eminently competent that it's quite a tough call.

I have my suspicions as to who, if anyone, might be going, but I've made a policy of not publicly speculating about that issue and I'm not going to change it now.
