As an unfortunate and intentional result of Kelandon's shameful behavior, I have found myself unable to participate as a candidate in this election's final round without the removal of a capable candidate.

I assign all but two votes to Stughalf and one to each of Arancaytar and Thuryl, and urge that my constituents vote for Stughalf.

I also urge Stughalf to adopt the impeachment policy I have promised to govern myself with, as I feel that a lack thereof would leave an elected government without responsibility to its electors and would, as such, be a mockery of all this election has stood for.

I doubt he shall ever have to use it if elected.

All of my best to all three candidates. SE out.

Tasteful as usual, Watts.

You know, Kel, for someone who doesn't post in general unless it directly effects himself, you sure seemed intent on screwing Alec. What could be your motive? Was the fact that Alec wasn't stirred by LP's stunning, classical-centered narrative the first offence?

But hey, Stug will be a good mod- mostly since he doesn't take leads from you.

Unless Thuryl wins, which seems the likely outcome.

Darn, and I was this close to a windfall victory from all the solid candidates taking each other apart. :P

It occurs to me I could have dropped out and possibly even entered two other candidates and thus forcing Thuryl out of the race. I have to crunch the numbers to be sure, but history might have been different. But I didn't and it wasn't.

Make Lucien "Juicy Lucy" McMahon a.k.a. Thuryl moderator!

Why would you want to force Thuryl out of the race? It just wouldn't make sense to do that!

He.. would likely be too harsh, towards certain elements of the community. Stug is far more easy-going, towards everyone. Aran, too.

I'm so pleased that someone other than myself has developed an on-going feud with TM/Alec. :)

Out of morbid curiosity, what did he do that was so shameful? I missed it.

Kelandon made it impossible for Alec to get into the finals without Zeviz's votes, and Zeviz hates him.

I'm lost. Why is that shameful? If he prefers the other candidates for whatever reason, and the rules and situation allow him to use his votes to ensure that none of them get replaced by a candidate he doesn't favour, where is the problem? You could argue that one person shouldn't have that much power, but that's the way the rules are...

I don't see why that was so shameful. That's like saying that Nader should have dropped out of the presidential election so Kerry might have a better chance of winning. It's nonsense. If somebody wanted to run, they should be able to run, and whatever votes they get, they get. I'm sure many of those who voted for Kel did so because they preferred Kel over Alec.

The election was very fair.

As fair as democracy gets, that is.

I for one was against the idea of voting to begin with. Fuedal systems ftw!

He's not complaining. He's making a concession speech, and in the process explaining the circumstances which forced him to concede. I see nothing at all wrong with this.

Thank you, Alec, for your support, and much more importantly, your friendship. I really wish we both could have been in the final three, but as it didn't work out that way I am dedicated to representing the policies both of us advocate. I will adopt your impeachment policy as my own, and support & enrich will assuredly live on in my candidacy.

Let's see...

1. You've set up the rules of your choice.

2. You've started and ended the registration at the time most convenient to you.

3. You've made sure that all of your supporters were registered, while some of your opponents missed registration because rules were hidden in a reply edited into a post on a thread that originally talked about general idea of elections.

And now that you've lost despite all your machinations you still found a reason to complain.

Considering that you were loudly complaining about the fact that secret ballots would prevent you from strategically shifting votes at the last minute to push some candidates out of the way, this sounds like the definition of hypocrisy.

They might have preferred Kel over Stug too. Stughalf is a very good candidate, and it should be noted that Alec has himself given his support to him, but the manner of his entry into the list was an undemocratic intervention on the part of a single person.

The votes a candidate receives are lent to him, not donated. They aren't his to give.

Forgive me for not foreseeing the abuse of the rules which would remove me from the running. I can assure you it was an oversight, as I would not wish the underhanded tactic used to remove me on anyone.

I find it noteworthy that the three people who have been the most enthusiastic about deriding my words are those who count themselves as my enemies. I do not find it surprising, but I find it noteworthy.

Only 3 candidates could get into the finals. For someone to get in, someone else had to be left out. Kel wanted the current finalists in more than he wanted you in, so he spread his votes among them instead of giving them to you. How is there anything wrong with that?

He could have lifted Stug's count above mine without trying to exactly balance the candidates and forcing my non-presence. Really, the end result would probably be the same, except it wouldn't have had the welcome side-effect of giving me the finger on my way out.

I'm certainly glad I don't have to seek election as a moderator now, because I am not forced by professional dignity to recuse myself of the blood feud Kelandon had apparently elected to take up against me.

The man has an interesting and unfortunate taste in enemies which will cost him dearly. And that's all I'm saying out of respect for Stughalf's campaign.

And now for a refreshing new opinion...

I have no clue who you are Custer/Alec, but given your behavior regarding all of this election business, I am glad that you will not be given a position of authority on these boards.

It was just a sentence. I don't believe Alec meant anything by saying it was a shameful move on kel's part. I agree that it was fair to Kel to choose whoever he wanted, even if it was planned to take Alec out (which could or couldn't be true), but we shouldn't jump on Alec just for saying what he thinks.
