OOC: Ok, first of all SIS, I do not have a new home yet. I simply said I was shopping for stuff for my future home. I still live with my parents.

Second, I will try to interpret a scene from what I have read so far. SIS, your info to Tommy confused me. I hope I am doing this right.

Third, I am Sherlock Holmes, Warslith. I used to be Murder, She Wrote...hence the MSW.

Fourth, I was too confused lately and had no idea what to post, so that's why I have been so silent.

IC: Daniel and Oskoth reach the edge of the clearing and one of the guards notices the approaching footsteps.

Eferas: "Halt right there!!! Whoever or whatever you are!!! I'll blast you to the hereafter if you don't identify yourselves right away!!!"

Oskoth: "Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Now, Eferas...no need to be hasty. It's me and Daniel."

Eferas: "It could be you. But how do I know that you aren't possessed by demons?"

Daniel: "You're kidding right? That's one of the dumbest things I've ever heard."

Oskoth: (Turning to Daniel) "Now wait, he's right. Who's to say that we aren't demons trying to infiltrate the bunker?"

Daniel: "Don't you start too!!"

Oskoth: "Now wait, I'm not finished, Daniel." (Turns to Eferas again) "Eferas, I can assure you that we are not possessed. And if you don't let us in, I will cast a strong light spell and let every demon within five miles see where we are. When I said I only had weak and meager magic skills... I lied."

"You don't have to be crazy to make the blood angel. I've done it myself. It's just another way to drive others crazy with fear. That could have been some creature possessed by a demon, but if it was, it was a very smart demon. That's nearly as frightening as the possibility that one of us is trying to sabotage this whole mission."

"If we have to move, we have to move. However, we can't afford to waste time or make an obvious target using a stretcher, so the wounded will have to walk. And we can't afford to stop. By all means help them walk but if they can't keep up and they start delaying us, we'll have to leave them."

"We'll have to leave them all alone. We cannot fragment this group. Nobody must run off like Terril did. We have to reach the village as quickly as possible, give a signal so any survivors can reach us and leave within a few days."

Raymond searched the floor for any hollow spots - he remembered that he and a friend had dug an underground tunnel to Selger some point after this bunker was constructed.

"What the HELL are you doing, Law?" Chadussid inquired.

"Found it," Raymond announced. It was a trapdoor disguised as four tiles on the ground. "It's a tunnel that I had built that leads to Selger. I don't know about the rest of you, but I think it would be wiser than going to the Temple. Because, you know, there's kind of a whole army of demons there."

"And how should you know?"

"I almost got killed by that army."

Chadussid looked wistful.

"Law, under the doctrine of supremacy of martial justice, I hereby declare you suspect of the murder and mutilation of our friend the guard. I doubt I am alone in finding your demonic armies far too convenient, and I frankly would not enter a series of tunnels running underneath this hellhole if you and everyone you ever cared about were to lead the way. Even if you aren't trying to sabotage us intentionally, the prospect of being in an area where the whole group can be crushed to death at the whim of someone above who knows where we are is not a pleasant one."

OOC: now i know that trying to get the party to town is a crime.

IC:
"If you do not believe me, then I shall go to Selger alone," Raymond concluded, and left on his own. "You can go to the temple if you think I AM one of them. Just don't blame me if an army of demons comes and kills you all."

Just before Raymond could open the hatch, Chadussid lunged at him with all his might, but quickly found a spear launcher pointed at his heart. "You know I am innocent. It's also not a crime to kill in self defense."

Rey started speaking, with some difficulty because he should be resting, not speaking. "Chadussid, if Raymond IS a demon, wouldn't he have killed me and Eferas when we were in here alone? Think about it, he could have killed me without much trouble because the only way for me to hold my sword is if I bandage it to my hand. He's had plenty of time to kill us all." Chadussid did not look pleased with Rey.

"Fine. Then his problem is not one of maliciousness, it is one of stupidity. Does nothing occur to you, Mr. Law, to be less than tactically sound about entering a series of underground tunnels beneath a demon-infested war zone? Like, say, the fact that one well-placed explosion, magical or chemical, could kill all of us at once?"

"How would anyone know where we are if we go down that tunnel? Rey asked. Then Rey, knowing that he needed rest, decided to take a nap to try and get better.

(OOC: Tunnels? Doesn't that seem slightly too convenient to you?)

"Garath, I would like you to witness that our two friends are seemingly on the brink of violence. I would like you to note that I am holding what appears to be a crossbow of the 193 pattern coming from the Malney Manufactory."

"I would further like you to witness that I am holding this weapon only for the good of the group. I would like you to witness that should either Mr. Law or Sgt. Chadussid care to continue their quarrel by violent means I will be forced to shoot the agressor for the good of the group. I think you will agree that in this case one might consider it to be self-defence and an aid in restoring discipline."

"Has that got your attention? Then stop squabbling. Chadussid, if you're going to make accusations you can't back up, watch your back. When there's a killer running around wearing your uniform, you don't want anybody to think you might be a double agent."

"And your rank and unit mean nothing. We aren't a military group."

"Mr. Law, if you think that a tunnel from here to Selger built in a hurry is completely structurally sound, you're either a master architect or an idiot. Nothing suggests the first. And if you think that we can get the whole group down this tunnel, you're away in fantasyland."

"That's not to say it's useless. If you can collapse the tunnel loudly enough, it ought to draw some of the demons away. But I just don't believe that tunnel is safe."

Garath nodded.

"I agree. And we need to get to the temple. We are almost there, and it would make a waste of all our efforts if we turn back now. The demon army is still waiting for us, whereever we go, and at the temple, we may be able to find archives and so on to strengthen ourselves for any battle."

"I don't think you, Chadussid, have any evidence to declare any of us to be a traitor. In fact, we have no evidence that you aren't the killer yourself - after all, the madman out there is one of your buddies, and you have done little but sow dissent and division."

Chadussid glared at him in rage. Garath rested a hand on his knife, just in case.

"I suggest we keep the tunnel as a backup plan, and strike for the temple as soon as we can."

There was a glint in his eye as he said this. He opened his hands in a placating gesture.

"After all, we can't afford to keep wasting this time squabbling. Raymond can walk with me, if you are scared, Chadussid. I'll keep an eye on him. And er... Chadussid?"

"What?"

"You find demonic armies 'far too convenient'?"

While all this was happening, Thendran was deep in meditation, chanting an arcane ritual in a harsh voice. "Manastra Tende... ...Manastran Gratan... ...Manasta Tende... Suddenly, he spoke to the adventurers, still while in the trance. "I have seen at least 50 demons guarding the temple... And something far more powerful... A kind of Hellspawn, but what type, I do not know. Its power... Overwhelming... More than a Haakai... It senses that humans are here." Then he spoke with a more normal voice, "I have informed my order's master of our situation and asked for his assistance. Let us hope he will come before the Hellspawn comes."

OOC: If that's too many or too little an amount of demons, Tell me and I'll change it.

As soon as Alex had entered the bunker he immediately took his supplies from the carts, went off into a distant corner, and set up a crude, but functional, forge. By this time, with aid of magic, he had managed to heat a fine steel sword to white hot and was mumbling incantations under his breath. With a flash of inspiration he stopped and call out "Thendran! Come over here quickly please!" Thendran complied.

Alex continued, "I remebered an enchantment I know, but I need the aid of a priest. Will you help me?" Thendran replied that he would. Alex quickly instructed him and began working on the sword again.

A time later there was a sudden flash of light and the mages all felt a sudden surge of power. everyone turned to see Alex and Thendran stagger. Indicating the sword in his arms Alex speaks, "Well, the two of us can't conjure a spark between us for a while, but now we have this. It's a Demonslayer. Who is skilled with swords?"

Rey woke up and then heard "Who is skilled wiht swords?" Rey stood up. "I am good with swords." Rey looked at his right hand. It had stopped bleeding, but was still in no condition to hold a sword. "But before I can fight well, I need to get my hand healed."

"By all that's holy, do you never stop whining?" Hispar grumbled, coming out of his healing trance in a corner as far from Garath as possible. "Let me see it." He unwrapped the bandage from the hand and examined it. "It's not infected, it's not bleeding anymore, and it's not going to kill you. You're better off than I am."

"You seem better," someone noted. That infantryman, Kenthred.

"Healing works wonders."

"No, you seem close to sane."

Hispar raised an eyebrow. "Thanks. I assume you mean that the spirits are not speaking as loudly in my ears."

"Whatever you want to call it."

"It saved us before," the shaman said, narrowing his eyes. "We have a sword to kill demons with now. We have people who can use it?and not Rey. Chadussid hasn't led us wrong... yet..." The Corpsman snorted. "...but the voices were clear. If we leave the way we came, we die. I say we try the tunnel."

And with that proclamation, Hispar collapsed, exhausted.

?Alorael, who realizes that his post accomplished very little towards moving the plot along. Sorry about that.

Rey then actually clenched his right fist in anger! He had to bear the extreme pain."Why do you say I cannot use it?" Rey sheathed his longsword and picked up his shield in his left hand.

"Rey, put the sword down. You think demons won't sense the power of the weapon? Even unwounded you wouldn't be strong enough to form the centrepiece of an attack. Take the shield instead. You don't need any co-ordination to use that and I'd rather you knocked demons down with it and needed someone else to deliver the coup de grace than that you had a sword but no defence and you got killed. Get somebody to follow you and knife anything you knock down."

"Stick with me and give the sword to somebody big enough and stupid enough to wield it."

As Rey considered, Kenthred wrenched the sword from his hands and handed it to Oskoth.

"Another one of the adventurers must be able to use this."

OOC: Even I could tell that Zephyr was holding his own sword. Give him a chance to learn in the RPs instead of putting him down all the time. And for Pete's sake, try to read the posts right people. I swear, one fifth of this RP is nothing but arguments resulting from misinterpreted posts.

My character and Daniel's are still not near the others yet. We are waiting on Arancaytar to post and bring us in.

As far as I am concerned, that post of Your Unborn Child's doesn't exist because it came as a result of misinterpretation.

No IC in this post, I am waiting for Alorael to react to an MP and it is marked as unread at the moment.

A drop of water formed on his dark, oily hair - the night was damp. Glistening in the moonlight, it began rolling down the strand of hair, picking up speed as it went. Finally it came to the end of the strand, paused, and then dropped onto his hand, shattering on contact.

With a start, he woke up. The dream had been far too real, far too close. But the water was just water, he thought, looking down at his hand; if it had been the demon's acid, he knew, the hand would not be there. He groaned and pushed himself to his feet. Why had it seemed so real? He tried to remember. The demon chasing him, of course... the fire, crashing walls, exploding potions... but that would mean... Selger...

He looked wildly around, suddenly realizing how close he was to the barricade. That twisted tree - could it be the same one he had rested under each day, scrawling figures in the sand, amazed at how much wealth was to be had in this valley? But it was young and green no longer. The demon invasion had turned it old, sinister; his demented vision showed it as black, where it should have been white. There was no white in this landscape, just the moon above. He looked towards the barricade once again. Was that a spark of light? He set off at a run, feeling refreshed from his rest on the forest floor.

A shriek pierced the night air, and the bit of white was snuffed out. A low rumble shook the valley, showering him with debris and termites from the trees. He jumped backwards. A shadow rose from the barricade, drifting quickly towards the sky; it passed overhead, blotting out the moon momentarily, and then vanished. Even in the pale light of the moon, he could see nothing, only black; his mind was reeling.

Then, suddenly, he saw a human shape coming towards him. He cried out in surprise and relief; the human saw him, came towards him. And with a start, he realized that the man was blacker even than the trees around him. He turned away in panic, consciously thinking no longer. Fear consumed him, and he ran.

Four hours later, a shout startled him out of his trance. He opened his eyes and was immediately blinded by the light eminating from a small group directly in front of him. The brightest fumbled at his belt, grabbing for its dagger, then gave up and raised its staff above its head. "Not me - behind -" he gasped as the wizard brought his staff down on his shoulder. He crumpled, completely devoid of strength, thinking before he lost consciousness how odd it was that the brightest one should strike him while the darker one by his side did nothing...

Eferas took a little time to catch his breath while he leaned on the staff he had just swung. Purely physical effort he was unused to; he preferred using his magic. But in this case he had hesitated: The one who had just burst out of the trees was a human, and might not be evil, so it was always better to be on the safe side. Fire magic was convenient, but had the disadvantage of being rather permanent in its effects. No need to scorch someone to cinders without knowing who he was.

"Where in hell did he come from?" Eferas wondered aloud, as the others recovered from their surprise.

"It's not the corpsman," Garath pointed out. "He'd be wearing a uniform. Besides, you wouldn't have been able to strike him down like that - he would've killed more than one of us before we knew what was going on."

Oskoth went over to the unconscious man. "Must have been running for some time. My guess he was frightened near dead by something he saw in the woods. Demons, most likely, he shouldn't be able to see the corpsman."

"That doesn't necessarily make him our friend. Do you think we should wake him without binding him first?" Radic asked.

"He doesn't look particularly dangerous, but just so I think we should get him to the bunker first. I'll feel more safe with more of our people around us. Besides, whatever he ran from stands a good chance of being on the way here, and I don't want to meet it no more than he did." With that, Eferas cast one more magic-enhanced look around him - his fire magic and limited knowledge of demonology allowed him a rudimentary sense of demonic presence - but he felt nothing. Zilch.

"Ah, Garath?" Garath looked at him. His face was so neutral as to be almost expressionless.

"Would you mind?" Eferas waved his hand impatiently. "I'm trying to do some, ah, sleight-of-hand trickery now, so if you would be so kind to look in another direction for a moment?"

"No!" Garath almost shouted. Eferas looked up, surprised.

"I need to... ah... figure out if there are any demons around, just in case."

Garath shook his head vigorously. "No... we don't have time for that kind of pointless trick. He could be hurt, he could be dying."

"He doesn't look in that bad shape to me. Just shaken... and obviously with a bump on his head."

Garath ignored him. His eyes flickered quickly from side to side, he licked his lips rapidly, trembled, a little.

"He came from out there, don't you see? He may have important information. And we need to get it out of him, quickly."

Eferas was confused. "What sort of information? Surely it can wait."

But Garath was already dragging the limp body back towards the bunker. With a sigh, Eferas assented, and soon they arrived back with the others.

A chill breeze was starting to blow through the forest.

Terril awoke with a start. With the memory of that thing fresh in his mind he jumped to his feet, quickly glancing around, he saw no trace of the creature.

He felt... confused. He found that he had his sword in his hand, but he couldn't remember drawing it. Everything just seemed hazy.

Checking himself for injuries, he found that he had acquired several large scratches and a claw mark down his back, not a deep one, but enough to cause discomfort. The pain wasn't the first of his worries though; the claw must have been huge for the marks to be so far apart. And it might come back.

Why am I alive? Why didn't it kill me? What was it?

Taking a look around one last time, he set off towards - well, he was pretty sure it was that way - the bunker. Keeping a careful eye on the shadows. On the dark...

EDIT: Because it would be stupid if there was a "trance of the creature".

Sylvain rubbed his eyes. He had dozed off for quite some time - he was lucky to still be alive. And then he stopped all movement. He could hear voices outside of the thicket. Checking the ward, he realized that it was rapidly deteriorating. They were probably demons, plotting how to kill him. He hefted his mace and winced. His arm still hurt him, but he needed it now. Uttering a small prayer to Hiram, he yelped in pain and slumped to the ground. His arm felt wonderful, but he was so drained of energy he could hardly move. But now was no time to relax - the demons would be on him soon; he was sure of it.

Slowly creeping out of the thicket, grasping his mace tightly in both hands, he hoped to maintain the element of surprise. There were only two of them - arguing over a dead body that they seemed to be dragging in the direction of the thicket. Incensed, he let out an ear-splitting yell and charged the two demons. Waving his mace about, he cracked the one dragging the body on the shoulder, sending him tumbling to the floor. But the other one was nowhere to be seen. "Shifty demons!" he cursed to himself, and slowly turned around. As he did, he was bludgeoned in the stomach with a large staff that Eferas had swung at him.

EDIT: Change two words, the meaning is exactly the same.
