quote:These have been tried before in BoE. They end badly. The one insurmountable difficulty with them is that if even one person drops out of the project then the whole scenario tends to go down the gurgler. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Consider making a scenario that ends with something other than a fight. Build up the anticipation of a climactic battle, and then give the party a different kind of challenge entirely. If you do it right, they'll love you for it. This should probably be in the BoA forum. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! The stat system. I dug the way linking weapon skills to HP and magic skills to SP made it at least a little useful to build up every stat (well, except maybe Endurance). As for plot elements, definitely finding the crones' little black book as Romans. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! "An older version of BoE"? BoE hasn't been updated in about 7 years now. Every version is an old version. :P -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

I'm on OS X 10.1.5 and haven't had problems as severe as yours, but have occasionally experienced crashes when viewing PICT resources in ResEdit. Resfool and ResKnife are alternative resource editors for OS X. Can't vouch for their features or stability, but if they work for you they're better than nothing. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Webspace is simply the amount of space you actually have to store stuff. Data transfer is the total amount of data users can download in a given time period. For example, if you have 10 MB of webspace and 1 GB data transfer per month, you can store a 10 MB file on your website and up to 100 users can download it per month. Or you could store a 5 MB file and 200 users could download it per month. Or a 1 MB file and 1000 users could download it per month. Of course, in a real situation, different users are likely to request different amounts of data while they're visiting your site. -------------------- My BoE Page Bandwagons are fun! Roots Hunted! But if it weren't for starvation, disease and death, population increases wouldn't be a bad thing, would they? Okay, so after a couple of dozen generations we'd all have to start standing on top of each other to make room, but still... :P -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! quote:Not much we can do about this; the length of a day isn't constant, so it can't be used as a standard for scientific measurements. There's really no convenient non-arbitrary standard for time. quote:A litre of water is one kilogram. Your point? quote:The number of atoms in 12 grams of carbon-12, as you probably know already. Making the molar mass of a proton or neutron approximately equal to 1 g/mol has its advantages. Why not use 1 gram of hydrogen-1, you ask? Not sure. I suppose carbon was easier to purify and/or work with. -------------------- My BoE Page Bandwagons are fun! Roots Hunted! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

I live in Australia. You can pay by cheque if you have a bank account, or by international money order at major post offices. All you need for a money order is cash. Often an illegal value for an argument in a function seems to cause that sort of error. Worth looking at, but of course it's possible that it's Jeff's fault and there's nothing you can do. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure!
