We have two cats, one that thinks she's a person, Patches. This one only drinks out of glasses and will only eat the fanciest foods.

The other, Nemo, who is handicapable, eats anything that fits in his mouth...needles, nickels, cake batter, whatever. The vet LOVES this one. I "rescued" him from the family farm, he's not very bright and couldn't fend for himself with the other farm cats. Now we know he just suckered us in.

Anything by Jim Butcher is a good bet. Might I suggest checking out BookMooch , it's a great way to get cheap cheap reading when the library doesnt' have anything good (We have a small library so it's usually a good bet that they don't or it's checked out).

I like BoA, and as such I was fine with the interface for Nethergate. Story was fantastic, and gameplay was exciting and varied. I haven't played the original so I can't attest to the differences in the two versions. Having played A4, G4, I can understand your concerns in "taking a step back".

Just wanted to say, I think my wife finally understands why I love the Spiderweb RPG's. I've always said, I love Jeff's writing style. Well a while ago I bought The Poo Bomb and she just read it and said what a fantastic book, this guy has a really nice style of writing. I haven't read it yet (oh am I ready am I ready?) but I thought a note of praise was in order.

I do find the original Avernum graphics to have a special grainy charm to them (grainy comes from running them on a 20" imac I suppose).

Graphics don't mean a lick to me. If the game is fun I'll play it. And these keep drawing me back in. Hell I still boot up Ultima and Zork on Gametap every so often because they are enjoyable. Personally I've found all the engine's and graphics to have their own charm from Exile to A4. I personally prefer these "retro" graphics to today's wham bam 3D gizmo games (Don't get me wrong Blue Dragon looks to be bubbles hawt). Sprites to me have always had an innate organic feel to them.

Agree'd, I get annoyed when people call it theft. It's not theft, it's a violation of copyright law, an infringement if you will. That doesn't make it any more "right" but it most defiantly is not theft.

Cripes it's because its wrong. I don't disagree that many of today's entertainment items are grossly overpriced, but that don't make it ok to violate copyright law.

No I didn't partake in either of those activities, while my opinions on them differ from that of the law on both accords teh law is teh law. I've taken the high road and written my congress persons on several topics including, drinking age, marijuana, and the state of copyright law. Just because you don't like a law doesn't make it any less of a law, but with enough support these things can get changed, unfortunately I fear today's youth have been tvpopmelted into apathy.

While I think a lot of media should be released under different terms than they are right now (CC) it's up to the rights holder, they created something and they deserve to be able to do what they want with it, if that means, charge for it so be it, if that means charge a lot for it so be it. I can't afford it isn't a legit excuse. I can't afford a Benz I'm not going to go jack one.

Stuffit, so many memories. I'm probably one of very few individuals that actually owns a copy of Stuffit Deluxe 11. I got it for 30 dollars when it was first released and I tend to like the .sit/x format (maybe it's nostalgia). I rue the day when Expander stopped coming with macs.

I'm excited but it's currently incompatable with the thing I reboot in to Windows for, Gametap. As soon as the Gametap client is compatable with these new features I'll be set.

They seem to run ok on my iMac. Occassionally I see a beach ball during an action but it doesn't seem to slow it down any. Beings I've only played these games on an intel Mac they could be meant to run much faster and I wouldn't know, but they run fast enough for mii.

I use ichat for AIM, Adium for MSN, Yahoo, ircle for IRC. I prefer iChat and wish they would add MSN support, I hate the official MSN client (on any platform). I typically use Pages for typing though I have Microsoft Office (provided by work). I use Mail.app for mail. Media Players would have to be iTunes and VLC.

Escape Velocity! After Starcraft thats probably my second most played game in hours. Hundreds of hours sunk into the EV games. I wish Ambrosia would kick off another EV, though Defcon has kept me busy for a while.

They're fun, nuff said. Graphix don't mean a lick of the cat to me. I play Ultima III, it's fun. I play Final Fantasy I through at least 3 times a year(for many many years). I still play the Zorks, they are fun. On the other end of the visual spectrum I play Gears of War, also fun. Burnout Revenge fun. But then there's trash like Final Fantasy XII, not fun, don't play it. (I really didn't like XII, it looked nice and that's about it far as I was concerned, to each their own).

Fact is these game's just draw me in like the games of yor did. I get pulled into the thick of these fantasy worlds like I did in the old days with games like FF III(or VI whatever you prefer) and Breath of Fire. These were games I played into the wee hours of the morning, and the same thing still happens every once and a while with the Spiderweb games. It's few games anymore that can draw me into an all nighter, especially in the RPG genre. As long as they keep being fun I'll keep bringin in the pennies.

Cripes did I type lick of a cat up there, it's been a long long day at work......

In all honesty I don't think the asking price of the Exile is all that much. As soon as I get sheep saver running I plan on buying all 4 games.

I found the interface worked well with the game, navigation was easy, combat was easy to follow, I rather enjoy the BoA engine. But then I rather enjoy BoA.

In the same regard as not making much profit, any sales he does have, after credit card frees, is essentially 100% profit. He's made back the cost of the games by now, so by having a discounted price Jeff can still bolster sales while raking in a little extra cash. I can see releasing them as shareware when sales drop to close to 0 though, at that point you've probably sold all the copies you are going to.

Isn't there something called FRAPS, I remember a couple WoW addicts going on about it. Recording there MC runs, and watching them over and over.
