I am a pretty big fan of Lost. I think one of the strong points of the show is the variety of characters. They differ from the Vanilla prototypes you find on many popular TV shows. Many of the characters come from different cultures/backgrounds and I think that makes their interactions more interesting. I think that the writers would be well served to continue to play up this aspect of the show. I also like the continued suspense and mystery. I don't feel like I need answers every week and I am willing to accept that maybe there are no answers coming. Artistically speaking, I think the lack of answers improves Lost and brings it more in line with the classic Apollonian and Dionysian duality; instead of forcing it to fit within our obsessive Socratic norms. I only wish they hadn't killed off Mr. Eko and Boone. -------------------- Discipline of the Lost Birth of a Tragedy Posts: 32 | Registered: Tuesday, February 13 2007 08:00 |

I don't like the idea of being able to completely clear out most areas of the game forever. I think it might make more sense if over time rogue creations started to re-inhabit some areas. I just can't imagine that vacant areas stay vacant forever. I would be happy to see serviles herding ornks take over, or serviles planting crops, etc. Also, I think you should also always get at least 1XP for killing something. I think the moderempirators should take all of the annoying posters/flamers and cast them into a pit forum. That's what they deserve: Exile. We could design some complicated series of steps they would have to take to escape from the pit forum. Anything goes in the pit forum. ------------------- Lt. to the Supreme Lord of the Noobs Posts: 32 | Registered: Tuesday, February 13 2007 08:00 |

Have you ever tried to create art & culture while someone was trying to wipe you off the face of the earth? I think maybe I will stop to paint a mural while the War Trall throws a boulder at my head and the Artilla shoots acid at me. ------- Lt. to the Supreme Lord of the Noobs Posts: 32 | Registered: Tuesday, February 13 2007 08:00 |

I definitely think a religious war perpetrated by the Anama is the way to go. Jeff certainly seems to be into capturing present day political issues. What is more current than religous war? Of course in my opinion, this would perhaps need a substantial redesign of priest spells. In addition to Martyr's Shield, it might necessitate a spell Martyr's Sword™. Martyr's Sword™ could damage both the caster and his enemies. I could also see the dramatic return of Quickfire. Maybe Quickfire is the Martyr's Sword™. Quickfire could become a mid-level priest spell that could only be cast so it formed around the caster, thus likely resulting in death. Repent Infidels? Akbar Anama? On second though, maybe this is too close to current events for Jeff's taste. -------------- Second Lt. to the Supreme Lord of the Noobs Posts: 32 | Registered: Tuesday, February 13 2007 08:00 |

Here's a suggestion: Don't double post. I hope that is great for you. (There is plenty of strategy help available in Helpful Board Links and Lists (Accessible at the top of the Geneforege 4 topic list) and by searching for walkthroughs on google.) ------------------- Supreme Lord of the Noobs [ Friday, March 16, 2007 09:59: Message edited by: Blah_Blah ] Posts: 32 | Registered: Tuesday, February 13 2007 08:00 |

For the god's sake, check out the Helpful Board Links and Lists under this topic. I suspect you will find most of your questions answered there. There are also walkthroughs available. Find them through a google search. Stop posting questions that you can easily find the answer to. See my other post in response to your, dare I say, stupid questions. ----------------- Supreme Lord of the Noobs [ Tuesday, March 13, 2007 09:56: Message edited by: Cylon ] Posts: 32 | Registered: Tuesday, February 13 2007 08:00 |

I think it would be cool if you could make a creation and then ride on its back. I would climb on a Drakon and herd my Cryoas. Giddy up Drakon. Get along little Cryoa. ----------------- Supreme Lord of the Noobs Posts: 32 | Registered: Tuesday, February 13 2007 08:00 |

Does anyone else think that you should be able to make more artifacts? Frankly, I am a little disappointed that you can't create any breastplate artifacts (or weapons). Further, it seems kind of weird that all of the items you can make are not the type that would be made on an anvil. Granted, it is an enchanted anvil, but still, it would make a lot more sense if I could say, forge a sword on the anvil or hammer out a breast plate. For instance, wouldn't a cloak, (like the Cloak of the Shadows) require an enchanted electric sewing machine? I miss being able to make the emerald chestguard and the essence aegis. Finally, does anyone ever make the Sunstone Belt? It looks like a waste to me. -------- Ultimate Supreme Warrior Lord Philosopher Sovereign Wizard Jester of the Super Fabulous Noob Spiderweb Addicts Posts: 32 | Registered: Tuesday, February 13 2007 08:00 |

You don't need to help both in order to help Moseh. I believe the only way to get help from Shaftoe is to kill the servant mind (just the one that is already hostile). Posts: 32 | Registered: Tuesday, February 13 2007 08:00 |

OK, you got me there. The preceeding was just a cruel joke. I guess what I am really interested in is the topic of belief. Is the ability to believe in something a blessing or a curse? Obviously, there is not a bright line answer. It is a curse to those who waste their lives believing in something that doesn't exist? (e.g. God, gods, or an honest politician) At the same time it is a blessing in many ways. (We might be crippled without it, in that how could we work for something beyond ourselves without it.) -------- Ultimate Supreme Warrior Lord Philosopher Sovereign Jester of the Super Noobs [ Wednesday, February 21, 2007 12:50: Message edited by: Cylon ] Posts: 32 | Registered: Tuesday, February 13 2007 08:00 |

Wesnoth.org is a decent game. It is free, too. The latest version has taken a signifigant step backwards, however. The graphics and logic have gotten too bulky I guess. I reject your assignment and say who gives a $^!#. What would the point of a message board inspired by a computer game possibly be? If you want to talk about something important, go somewhere else. Or post it here, but don't expect everyone to be interested. Most people find their way here because of a computer game. Speaking of topics that suck, isn't this topic a 'meta-posting' itself? So why should we waste any more time with it? WOULD THE MODERATOR PLEASE ERASE THIS TOPIC FOR OBJECTIONABLE META-POSTING MATERIAL? Finally, I believe you are being elitist. I say, let the people speak. Who cares if MFI, I mean IFM, creates some stupid topic? News flash, if you don’t have the time, don’t read it. (And if you have the time, feel free to post something equally inane in response.) ------------------ Ultimate Supreme Lord Jester of the Noobs [ Tuesday, February 20, 2007 04:59: Message edited by: Cylon ] Posts: 32 | Registered: Tuesday, February 13 2007 08:00 |
