I liked FF8 a lot more than pretty much any other entry in the series, although FF6 was definitely the most fun.

He asked for advice, not marketing. :P I use Internet Explorer as my only browser and (almost) never run into any problems. Never, if you're talking about serious problems like viruses or other malware, as opposed to merely annoying things like webpages constructed to mess with IE.

On the other hand, if your problem is that Internet Explorer is working incredibly poorly for you, I would suggest trying another browser. There's no reason to stick with something that isn't working.

I'm an Elite on GameFAQs. I used to post frequently a year ago, and I've never been modded once. Learning to hold your tongue goes a long way.

The mods there are also hardly power hungry. Weird moderator decisions are due to their moderation system, which only allow them to see the post in question, only posts that are reported, and not its context or anything.

It's how they manage to possibly moderate a set of boards as huge as GameFAQs.

Having recently read through it, it's pretty obvious that either the site is entirely a joke, or he was merely frustrated with certain elements of the culture that developed around anime in America. I'd question where an anime-hating troglodyte managed to find a lot of fansubbed anime to take pictures from, as well as have relatively accurate information.

Also, his arguments can generally be summed up as "hentai is sick and wrong" (...it's basically porn, do you expect it not to be?), "some anime has awful plot (or humor)" (Bad anime is bad. Who'd have thought?), "the art in anime tends to be low-quality" (Well yeah, it's made to be done quickly for animation), "some anime plots are implausible, like Sailor Moon's disguise or Codarl (the giant robot) having hair" (Superman has a better disguise? And hey, the hair looks cool.), with a dash of "anime fans are stupid, fat virgin geeks" thrown in for good measure. (And hey, some of them are.)

I don't really see anything there that's actually a condemnation of anime as a whole - which I'd see as rather difficult, anyway. It'd be like condemning live-action movies, television serieses, or theatrical productions as a whole.

And, to SNM - I don't entirely see how the "Unix underpinnings" really give you any advantage at college, but maybe you go to a college that is quite unlike mine. On the other hand, mouse/keyboard unresponsiveness (as you said) usually seems to be a function of full CPU load, so you could also check how often you are hitting that on your PC in comparison to your Macintosh.

See, as it's WinRAR, it's a Windows program...

(The company that makes it, however, does make a command-line-only version for Mac OSX and several other systems, but it is merely called RAR.)

This Vahnatai Creationism is complete rubbish, but so is the so-called "evolution" theory. I, for my part, adhere to Intelligent Design by a cooperation between hyper-intelligent carrots, Rakshasi, and Illithids. :nods:

Evolution is indeed rubbish. Hyper-intelligent carrots sounds at least plausible, though I still support the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, CFSM

This is an RP, not a discussion about creationism theories. Now I said that, i'd like to say that it's maybe better to wait until the other RP is finished. it's moving rather fast at the moment.

In theory, it is also better to wait until the next RP is finished, as I said before.

Nonetheless, it'll probably go ahead. We'll find a solution - if necessary, we can run both at the same time; General has cooled down past the point where several roleplays at once would have caused havoc.

Much better to bring some closure to the entire vahanatia theory. With everything laid out in the topical post, this looks like an excellent place.

On that note, it is obvious that Jeff intended these creatures to be roughly equivilent to aliens from another planet. In Jeffworld terms, that means interdimensional of undeterminent origin. Kinda like the efreti and rakhasa. All this other who-hah only serves to distract the masses from the true question.

If Jeff despises elves, why does he have dryads in his games?

Anyway, I suppose you do have a point. We definitely got a great chunk of history cleared up when we acted out the Civil War two years ago - and even if we need to postpone doing the same for the Anama, perhaps we can develop the Vahnatai instead?

I don't think Jeff intended for the vahnatai to be anything except another humanoid race in Avernum. For the record, he expressed positive thoughts at Drakey's theories.

I'd say this seems pretty straightforward, although I haven't played GF3 to know for sure.

It also costs far less points than over-investing in one skill, which I think is probably the main advantage.

Enemies all have dexterity, though, so you're going to have some sort of penalty to hit all of them.

Granted, it's only really noticable on certain things, like Hill Goblin Assassins in Emerald Mountain or when you're Dread Cursed a lot.

Icewind Dale 2 didn't really deserve an expansion, in my opinion. While I don't have Planescape: Torment on account of it being impossible to find, I've played all the other Infinity Engine games, and IWD2 was by far the weakest of them, especially with how lame Heart of Fury mode was in it.

Eldibs, Knotty, TM, please do not encourage him. :P

MyBuddy, you seem to continually post topics about nothing in particular. Please understand that while this is the General board of Spiderweb Software's forums, and thus meant for topics that are not necessarily about the games, Spiderweb Software does not have the resources to support all sorts of utterly meaningless topics. It is for this reason that posting games are disallowed, and it is for this reason that this topic is being locked like the last two you have posted. I will ask, on behalf of the board as a whole, that you consider whether your topics can spark any real discussion or are essentially mindless - before you post.

There are many other forums on the internet more receptive to these sorts of topics, such as Gaia Online.

It is so. Baldur's Gate 3 is supposed to be a prequel, but I'm not really sold on it. The awesomeness of the original "trilogy" (Throne of Bhaal is, for some reason, usually counted as Baldur's Gate 3 even though it is only an expansion to 2) seems like it will not be replicated by a third game.

However, it's entirely possible that it'll be neat. On the other hand, I'm looking forward to NWN2 and hoping it'll be awesome.
