quote:
player::player():
average(0),
gamesPlayed(0),
AB(0),
hits(0){}
That looks odd to me, but I'm not up on C++ so I don't know.

quote:
void setAverage(){average=(hits*1000)/AB;}
Division by zero here, methinks.

I suggest you run the program in a debugger.

Did you actually fix every bug in those two reports you posted? That's what you seem to imply, but I have to say I don't actually think you did.

if (get_flag(77,7) == 1);

Extra semicolon there.

Thing to help with spellchecking in Blades of Avernum Editor

I've made a program that takes all the strings from the script files of a scenario and puts them in one file, so you can sort out typos and so on with less hassle. Once you've done that, it can put all the changes back into the original scripts.

If this is useful, or needs feature X, or deletes all your files, let me know.

Get it here: astring (For MacOS X)

Source: astring source (C source code, should be reasonably portable)

The only time I've done it without help is when I was playing without killing anything, and I thought I needed every experience point there was all to myself. If I was to do it again, I'd take a helper as a meatshield.

And if you do open the 200-lock, don't come complaining when there aren't any items in the room. If you can open the lock, you don't need what would have been in there.

Not sure which one you're talking about..

If you mean the one on the first island, I found gems were the best bet, since you can use two per turn. Go collecting, and you should be able to get enough. Alternatively, if you have leadership 10, you can tell it to die, or for leadership 7(?) you can leave the island without killing it.

For the one on the third island, just leave it to others.

Hurting and killing people with the stated purpose of showing off (Exodus, where Pharoah agrees to let the Hebrews go but God makes him change his mind to get a couple more plagues)

Num 4:18 The LORD is longsuffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation.
Just rules for living by, including "You broke her, you bought her":
quote:
Deut 22:28 If a man find a damsel that is a virgin, which is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found;
   29 Then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel's father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife; because he hath humbled her, he may not put her away all his days.
It's that sort of thing that bothers me.

Of course the chainmail bikini helps in combat. She's mostly fighting against men, and it's a good distraction. :P

I'd imagine it would be very difficult to make your black hole at a nice size, since as soon as you get your 200 tons of matter together, you're going to have more energy spraying back at you than you'd get if you detonated all the world's nuclear weapons at once. So really, you'd need vastly more matter than that to get started, and some way of collapsing it uniformly.

Oh, and when you forget to feed it, it'll really bite you.

You shouldn't have to go through Spharon's lands to get to Dhonal's keep. My noncombatant agent just went up the same way as my other characters, as directly north as possible without going into the purification plant.
