There was TM's name thread that was killed by WKS's double post of the Kama Sutra and I think the other was the Avernum RP that had some troubles because of postage length rather than number of posts.

Matala's Workshop is below the Western Morass and accessed by a path around the northeast corner. You don't need to go through the gate to get to the path.

The Catacomb Lab is below Monarch's Realm at the door to the Black Pit. You need a key from Northforge Citadel.

Thrawn is a loyal cog in the Empire that no longer exists. He continues to destroy rebels as that was the last order of the Emperor. Maybe the Emperor used the Force to make that order stick a little more than usual so that Thrawn will continue doing so until the order is changed by the Emperor or his clone.

Besides he's an alien and you are trying to ascribe human motives to his actions.

Roman Party - All Druid in Nethergate

Finished the game. Way too easy at the end and I was too conservative on using energy draughts. I went into the Spire with 200 and still had almost half when I reached the Nethergate. You don't even need Hero of Old until the Land of Annwn and especially in the Spire so you can avoid healing.

Nethergate - where men are Romans and faeries run scared.

It gets to be a matter of how much loot can you carry. After the halfway point I increased dexterity and defense so I rarely got hit except by spells. With so much intelligence for spellcasting, I didn't get charmed by control life.

Can't wait to see ET down in Misc with those he sent down there. After all you can't stay dead down there so they can just keep killing each other until someone gets around to reviving them.

It's a high level spell that needs a certain crystal as a spell component. You fight a spellcaster and try to drain each other of spell points. Not really worth using and the very tedious in practice the one time I used it in Avernum 2.

Then it sounds like the corruption occurred in the downloaded program before you got it. Sorry, but this sounds like a problem for Jeff unless someone else has an idea. The data file for the monster shouldn't have got altered when he made the Intel based version.

Try installing a new copy of the game in a different folder. The preference file will be the same so you don't need to re-register. Then copy the saved game over from the old folder to the new one (count the first saved game as 0 and go down the first column to 9 and the second column starts as 10 if you aren't sure which file it is).

It may be a corrupted data file and this might fix the problem.

The problem with the A1 singleton is the level cap. Before you finish a major quest you are at the maximum level of 40. Between that and the limited number of knowledge brews, you have to plan out your character.

Time gets altered, but for most people their perception is altered so they don't notice the alteration. Only those with access to the time machine would know the change has occurred.

The rest blunder along in linear fashioned until they go down the wormhole and come out on the other side in another time or parallel dimension where things went a little differently.

The problem with acid spray is that it gives the wererat time to slit Riibu's throat. Firebolt wouldn't have killed it in time. Maybe Synergy's submission baton would have done the job.

Oh well the rat's away and probably someone else now. Anyone want to start a poll on who it appears as next?

We will probably avert thread death for a while since most of these posts are short.

A4 is a better combat engine, but it lost all the other features that made up Avernum. So I went with the older A1-3/BoA engine. I really miss elevations and the real feeling of distance between cities.

Repeated castings of essence shackles will usually prevent even a boss monster from getting an attack every round. As long as you can get in an attack then after the first few you can go to one a round.

Alternatively you can brute force your way through an electric field with enough health and use all the appropriate buffing spells: augmentation, essence armor, protection, and elemental cloak. Just heal after being damaged.

This is the only way to loot the body in the Warded Sea Cave, and reach the spore control box for the field in the Shaper Camp in the Forsaken Lands.

For all other ones you just have to be very careful and don't get within 2 squares or a pylon.

It can be accessed multiple times since there is a lot of loot. It just seems to have a bug about granting access sometimes.

There is a gate that can be opened from inside to get you a route into the Abyss.
