The presentation I've been going on and on about is done (grade isn't decided yet, so there is still some suspense), and I have a little time to turn toward this place and all the Ermarian stuff again.

1.) Going to work with Logo to restore Polaris so we at least get the year-old content back.

2.) Going on a hunt through the Google cache, my email and keylogs to bring back a little of the data we lost - RPs and so on.

3.) Rework the Endeavor to work with the latest version of Drupal

4.) Extend the PPP a bit so it has nicer navigation and the PPP2 threads are included as well.

This is all fairly long-term; I still have craploads to do this semester. But there's a bit of respite so I can fix some of the more pressing things. :)

Edit:

Oh, and I seem to have forgotten completely about this.

I love how this topic is right at the top of the list with 0 replies and you're already two posts ahead of your landmark. True Aran style, that. Congrats on the presentation and welcome back (though you're far more active here in your dormant state than I am on vacation with not much to do).

Wow, Aran, welcome back! An entire month without posting must have been hard!

What about participating in the RPs? Melora's been unconscious long enough, and I'm too tired to post in MoS after a grueling 1,086 word post in the Avernum RP. :P

Erm. Every topic is right at the top of the list with 0 replies - right after it's posted.

But not everyone has 7002 (now 7003) posts while celebrating their 7000th post.

Anyway, Dikiyoba congratulates Arancaytar on his excessive posting and welcomes him back from his "absence".

In other news, The Pirate Bay plans to buy the Principality of Sealand and establish a data haven.

(Off-topic? It's my topic. :P )

Edit: Except Sealand already is a data haven in the most literal sense.

On another note, if I ever decide to leave Dreamhost, I know where the Ermarian Network will be moving to. Not that there is anything on it that would require freedom from regulation - but just the coolness factor. If I could afford it, of course. :/

Welcome back, your falling behind in your slow race to catch up with Alorael. Maybe by post 14000 you'll get closer.

Congratulations on your work in the real world.

That was bound to happen.

In other news, hordes of fluffy turtles were recently spotted near the Ermarian Network at the promise of aggregated insanity.

Empty promise. :P

Oh, and a gender feature? How is Dikiyoba supposed to confuse newbs and Italians now?

Not really. :P

For the false information you have provided, you have apparently been removed from the list.

Though I am surprised that I was born September 8th, 2006. I'm not even a year old! :P

Stupid date fields getting mixed up. Fixed.

The gender feature is mainly my own speculation and observation (although I'm pretty careful not to jump to conclusions). There are only about 152 that are set. If you feel uneasy about this, I'll remove it from public view again as it was before.

Oh, and I didn't get the part about "delisting" until I saw that a few profiles weren't being updated anymore (among them Diki, Ephesos, Jewels, Saunders, Randomizer, Nemesis, and Tully). This is because their "last updated" timestamps are set to null, and so they're out of the updating cycle.

I can't say how this happened, but I forced a manual update on these, and they should be working regularly once again.

Edit: Of course! Last month, I was in hot water because the bulk updater got stuck on trying to update a spammer that Stareye had just deleted. So I rewrote the updater to automatically "delist" accounts it can't reach, so it doesn't get stuck in a loop.

Unfortunately, if the Spiderweb forum goes down for an hour or two, any member updated during that time will be delisted.

So I need to distinguish between "server unreachable" and "member not found" in parsing the response...

Even more evolution.

Thanks to the new generic changes&list functions, any field can be tracked or listed (provided it makes sense, ie. no tracking of member number changes). It is now possible to track homepage as well as karma vote changes, or list by last update.

Just something I noticed, when I have it sort all members in a list by total postcount, it sorts them from least to most. It sorts from most to least when you click it again, but I just thought it might be more convenient for it to do most to least first.

You and me both, but after an hour of searching, experimenting and complaining, the API still disagreed. It was either this or spend another week bypassing or rewriting the table API.

That field should be in our profiles. If nothing else, it'd make Aran's job easier.
