Would upgrading from regular to venom to acid batons work? Alwan still wouldn't be as powerful as Greta, but does it balance it out enough?

It sounds like Hawk King's editor to Dikiyoba. In theory, it should only effect Fort Monastery's script. In theory.

Well, I got the Lucia Pamela bit right.

Dikiyoba can't believe that Dikiyoba missed the fyora bit, though.

Anonymity and online identity, yet again. in General

The good news is that searching Google for my first and last name together brings up only two results, both of which present more of a postive impression than a negative one. Also, my real name and "Dikiyoba" haven't been put together online yet.

The bad news is that my real name is easy to trace should it ever get out. And it's not difficult at all for anyone who knows me in person to discover that "Dikiyoba" is my online identity, and have problems result from that.

Dikiyoba wonders what impression Dikiyoba's fan-fanfic would have on potential employers. After all, Dikiyoba is looking at a career in creative writing.

That was my reaction when listening to the Lord of the Rings soundtrack was mentioned in a review of a Spiderweb Software game a while back. For Geneforge, maybe. I wish I had the Star Wars soundtrack, but I don't.

Simple sounds and no music don't bother me. Half the time, I play with the sound off anyway. Besides, no music means that you get to choose the style of music you listen to. It's not difficult at all to put in a CD.

Dikiyoba enjoys listening to the Lord of the Rings soundtrack while playing Spiderweb Software games.

There are more than two. I think I have about 15 Spiderwebbers that either need to be revived or that need to walk through the door. Wonko, you have not been forgotten!

On a completely unrelated and somewhat random note, the search function doesn't seem to like this page.

it really pained me to see that alot of the graphics like pots and cuboards and stuff were just the same as geneforge, and that the game resembled geneforge so much - instead of being more true to the previous avernum and the exile series
This shouldn't be surprising, though. After all, many of the items in the Geneforge series, like bowls, daggers, trash, robes, etc., were also used in the Avernum series.

There's a reason that they explode when they are reabsorbed. Reabsorbing the creation is like killing it, only with some essence regained. Since pyroroamers explode when they die, they explode when they are reabsorbed.

Dikiyoba kills large groups of hostile pyroroamers with firebolt spell.

Well, fyoras, cryoas, drayks, drakons, and even roamers are all reptiles, so not having fur makes sense.

How often do you see someone bragging about how excellent battle betas are? It's not about the realism. It's about the percieved "coolness" factor. It has to be at least Guardian vs. Battle Gamma for things to be interesting.

Other possibilities include Guardians vs. Vlish, Guardian vs. Eyebeast, and Guardians vs. Everyone Else.

Why does Nephils vs Sliths get all the nostalgia and loathing? What about Giants vs Trogs?

Dikiyoba has failed to add anything new to this discussion. Oh well.

Waylander just said it was possible, not that it was the best way.

Dikiyoba thinks that anyone who spends five days on one battle is utterly crazy. The most Dikiyoba has ever spent is a few hours. Those augmented Sholai in G1 just have to be brought down!

Apparently not.

Dikiyoba came up with two startling conclusions today. First, Geneforge is actually the combination of the words "gene" and "forge." Second, nephils vs. sliths and nephilim vs. slithzerikai would give the same results, but nephils vs. slithzerikai is a whole new battlefield.

From Schrodinger's Walkthrough:

If you enter this region from the main level from the east, a dazed miner will stop and talk with you, telling you to go to the SW, near the sulfurous flats.

You have the Pyrrhic Gauntlets. They provide nice a bonus, but they are cursed and make you sick every so often, so it's probably not worth it to wear them.

And if you just came out of Coven Cave, you might want to check to make sure you don't have the Dread Curse as well. It's not responsible for making you sick, though.
