Does cr_summon_class also effect the level of Simulacrum needed to effect a creature? I've had creatures with summon class of -1 that are effected by simulacrum, which can be annoying. -------------------- Guaranteed to blow your mind. Frostbite: Get It While It's...... Hot? Dintiradan: I made the plot changes I mentioned over at the BTC. Beta testers who play through the new version will find it to be quite different. And on a somewhat related note, how long does Jeff leave a scenario in the "Untried" section? MoC seems to have been there forever, and Nephilim Mystery was there for a while as well. -------------------- Guaranteed to blow your mind. Frostbite: Get It While It's...... Hot? My new scenario, Dilecia v 1.0.0, is out. Get it from the Spiderweb scenario boards (as soon as Jeff puts it up), or here from my website. I currently only have the Windows version for download. If you use a Mac and can't convert your own graphics, then you'll have to wait until I get the Mac version, or Jeff puts it up. quote:The point wasn't to complain that sports are to violent, or players and fans are all miscreants. I was trying to say that these things exist in all sports, so singling one out and labeling it "thuggish" or "rowdy" isn't very accurate. I don't have a problem with players being emotional and caring enough about the game to occasionally scrap with other players (admittedly this is the only reason I'd go to a hockey game). I don't have a problem with baseball managers throwing tantrums (pretty funny). It really doesn't become a problem until riots break out in the streets or players go into the stands and start slugging fans. I don't think you have to use clear or import, but if you don't then things you defined in previous terrains will blend with your current one. Its definitely best to use them to avoid problems. -------------------- Guaranteed to blow your mind. Frostbite: Get It While It's...... Hot? Posts: 900 | Registered: Monday, August 8 2005 07:00 |

quote:Ahhhhh soccer, the sport where fans chant racial slurs at their own star players, so often that said players threaten to leave the field. Thank you rest of world. The fact is all sports have their low moments. There are players in soccer that act like thugs just as there are Ron Artests in America. There are fans for both soccer and American sports that get rowdy and behave inappropriately. There are racists in all sports. You can't categorize a sport by one incident, or one person or group. -------------------- Guaranteed to blow your mind. Frostbite: Get It While It's...... Hot? Is there any way to use this call outside of a special encounter rectangle? Specifically I was trying to call it from a specobj script (to kick off a cutscene.) If I absolutely have to I can resort to a rectangle, but it would look better. This seems to be a very picky call, I tried to use it from an Init_state and it didn't like that either (This one I know you can't work around). Putting on the finishing touches....... -------------------- Guaranteed to blow your mind. Frostbite: Get It While It's...... Hot? Posts: 900 | Registered: Monday, August 8 2005 07:00 |

I ate a hungry man dinner once, it was free with the rebate, so what the heck? It was actually pretty good, but it took me two days to eat it. I don't understand why you think everyone is trying to dissuade you from doing this. A project the size you are talking about would take months for even the most experienced designer. People aren't saying "You're a loser, don't try" they're saying "Make a small scenario, use the experience you gain to build your epic." I think Kelandon already suggested making a small scenario related to your epic. Have an idea for one sidequest? Turn it into a samll 5 town scenario and release it for everyone to enjoy. If when you're done with the small scenario you resolve to go on to the epic, then do so, but if you decide its to much work then at least you'll have a finished and playable product. Nothing plagues the blades community like unfinished scenarios, get something done and learn what it takes to build your huge scenario, then build Avernum 3.5 So whichever way you go, you can find scripting help, plot help or whatever you need posting on these boards. Although most experienced designers are loathe to make a formal committment to collaborate on another's project, most would help with a specific question. -Good luck- -------------------- Guaranteed to blow your mind. If when you say "has created an invention" you really means "has thought of outlandish idea, either probably impossible or definitely impossible" then yes, I am working on an invention. My most interesting invention is for an elixir of life, it will be created from the egg sac of an undiscovered insect in the Rainforests of the Sea of Tranquility. I am also working on an invention that will allow you to convert a regular car engine into a worm hole generator, which will rip massive holes in the fabric of space-time, and allow for instant travel across the galaxy. Edit: I almost forgot to mention my abacus for dividing by zero. My only real invention was for a school project in third grade, I taped flashlights to my shoes and said they were for walking at dark (pretty ingenious but not as glamorous as the above.) Well the reason you didn't get it was you posted a completely different e-mail earlier. I'll try to get it to you some time soon, but I don't even have the working Mac file on my computer. Edit: check your old e-mail, Ephesos sent it to you earlier. [ Wednesday, June 14, 2006 18:35: Message edited by: Lazarus. ] -------------------- Guaranteed to blow your mind. Kel was on the right track, using the call force_start_day() causes it to return zero for the day of the year. If you want to use this call then you must use what_day_of_scenario() to find out the day. And, oddly enough, a quick test shows that day 1 does return 0. I put in a call if(day_of_scenario() == 2), and it only works on day 3. -------------------- Guaranteed to blow your mind. Frostbite: Get It While It's...... Hot?
