I haven't seen any listing of what creature summon levels will actually be summoned by which levels of summoning spells, so out of curiosity I did some testing and this is what I found out: -Call beast seems to summon creatures whose summon level is equal to its level divided by 2 and rounded down to a whole integer -Create Illusions summons creatures whose summon levels are equal to its level -Summon Aid summons creatures whose summon levels are one greater than its level -Arcane Summon summons creatures whose summon levels are 3 greater than its level I thought that this information might be useful to designers who want to balance summoning power, partiularly in higher level scenarios. Correction: Due to my poor ability to do single digit subtraction, I had misstated the number for Arcane Summon [ Thursday, July 20, 2006 09:10: Message edited by: Niemand ] -------------------- Überraschung des Dosenöffners! My guess is that it's the raw spell level in terms of what you buy in the store. -------------------- Your flower power is no match for my glower power! Posts: 3726 | Registered: Tuesday, September 18 2001 07:00 |

Does cr_summon_class also effect the level of Simulacrum needed to effect a creature? I've had creatures with summon class of -1 that are effected by simulacrum, which can be annoying. -------------------- Guaranteed to blow your mind. Frostbite: Get It While It's...... Hot? I believe only characters of type "important" cannot be simulacrumed. -------------------- Your flower power is no match for my glower power! Posts: 3726 | Registered: Tuesday, September 18 2001 07:00 |

One way around the Simulacrum problem is to do what TM does with Cloud of Blades and take away Simulacrum in fights where it'd be unbalancing, giving it back again afterwards. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

I was under the impression that Wall of Blades was for Exile, not Avernum. Or perhaps I never played far enough to get that. ;) -------------------- And everybody say....Yatta! Posts: 1287 | Registered: Thursday, August 14 2003 07:00 |
