Tyranicus! That's exactly the program, that i got to work a few days before you started this topic! I also thought it would be nice to play Nethergate, and all those other outdated games which still run on my old Imac G3. So I installed the thing. However, indeed, aquiring a CD is rather complicated. maybe I too should look for a friend who has the CD. The only problem is, is that it MUST be a retail CD, and not a CD that you got with a Mac, like me. I got system 9.0.4 with my old Imac, but it doesn't work on my Intel Imac (for reasons which I hope I don't have to explain). Buying a CD is an option though, and it will probably cost me not more than 10 euros, though i still find it a pity. -------------------- Play and rate my scenarios: Where the rivers meet View my upcoming scenario: The Nephil Search: Escape. It would be a reasonable answer if the question were: "How does a turn-based game work?" But what i am asking is how the turn-based engine of (for example) Avernum, could work in a mmorpg such as Runescape. To make scuh things work, you would have to be with a small group, as you said, that can handle working together as a team in a very good manner, otherwise its doomed. I think I answered my own question now... -------------------- Play and rate my scenarios: Where the rivers meet View my upcoming scenario: The Nephil Search: Escape. Give us your drek! This has been asked many times, and the simple answer is "no." Jeff has neither the resources, nor the motivation to make such a thing. Besides, the Avernum engine is turn based. An online game can't be turn based! EDIT: and welcome to Spiderweb! Leave your sanity at the door. So why exactly did you post this? If nothing intellectual or otherwise interesting things will be said here, I suggest to lock this topic. I can't remember my school having any weird rules. Actually, its quite a tolerant school. You have all the normal rules, and if such a rule is broken constantly, a new rule is made, which does have affect. Its all quite normal, actually. Then we also don't have a school nurse, but you do have other persons to go to who are quite experienced when it comes to identifying sick children (they have children of their own). And I haven't done homework for weeks now (7, actually, as the last 3 weeks of school don't have any homework anymore, just 2 weeks of tests and a final week of sitting around the house, getting back the tests and here your marks.). In 3 weeks I will be starting again, though. -------------------- Play and rate my scenarios: Where the rivers meet View my upcoming scenario: The Nephil Search: Escape. Give us your drek! I was on vacation, and therefor had not contact with the outside world for some time. That's for the ones who didn't know where I had went. Betatesters: PLEASE send me an email to say where you are all now; what progress you made; try to send a small report. I want to get this thing out, and ifd I get nothing, I will simply release it. my second scenario is already in the making, and I got some very nice ideas due to Switserland for some outdoor terrain. Furthermore, France really halped me lining out a plot. But here is a problem: I want a big mythological creature, like a dragon, but the dragon is totally overused. My father made some suggestions, but I was curious as to what all you guys have to offer. -------------------- Play and rate my scenarios: Where the rivers meet View my upcoming scenario: The Nephil Search: Escape. OOC: Hmmm. Now there is something which I indeed didn't really forsee. I was on vacation, adn therfor I didn't post. IC: Filbert was hold firm in the grip of Sequoia, who was clearly ready to kill him any time. And the druid was right. Filbetr had caused this mess. He was fully reponsible for the mistrust of all his team 'mates.' First he was just a fool, now also a weak one. Then suddenly all hi thoughts collapsed under the wight of this one other thought, the one that he tried to repressfrom the very first time that the group travelled together. The one which made Filbert sych a weak person, the one that made it so easily for Orloki to manipulate him. Hatred. He could feel it now over all his body. The group thought him to be a fool, and he discovered now he indeed was a true fool. Instead of just talking, saying what he felt, he kept it inside. Now it had to come out. He actually didnt care that he was manipulated by Orloki. Actually, he found it a very pleasant feeling, that he could bash the brains out of Lisha, destroy edith's rediculous herbs, give Sequoia what he deserved. Tuulentekija also mustn't be forgotten in all of this. he also deserved to be beaten, just in a more friendly fashion, as he seemed to still be convinced in some way or another, that Filbert was here with some goal. Or maybe not. Maybe Tuulentekija was against him too. He didn't care. He was about to die anyway. The big problem here was Cain. Cain, now being a demon, was to strong for him, and he must have been the one finally chasing Orloki out of his body. Now it was the time to talk. Although it might be his last moment, his final words, and only Sequoia might hear them, gos, he didn't care. "Let me go! I can barely speak! I have things to tell you!" Sequoia kept him right in place, but loosened his grip. "Thank you," Filbert said, in a now slightly clearer voice, after which he continued: "From the start, right from that moment that we all started to feel the dangers, you thought of me being a fool. Just some luggage on a long trip. Moreover, some worthless luggage that one had to dispose of. You didn't do that, not yet. but I could feel that hatred, I could feel what you thought of me, and I don't care now anymore what you do to me. Yes, I injured you, got you cursed, but think of it from my point of view: I felt hated, I suffered. When orloki get hold of me, what do you think you would have done?" Sequoia looked at him. he didn't answer. the only sign Filbert could see about Sequoia really listening, was that he started frowning. "Yes. I wanted to harm you. I wanted to kill you, if possible. That is why I was manipulated so easily by Orloki. Not because I am weak, not because I am a fool, it was your own doing. In my home country, they have this saying: 'Never treat a person as a fool, untill he shows you his strengths.' You didn't do that. I was treated as a fool right from the start. I built p my hatred, and instead of just talking about it, I kept it in. As a result, orloki took hold of me very easily, and I injured you in a very bad manner. That wouldn't have happened, if just you, you and the others, wouldn't have treated me as a piece of dirt." Filbert was silent. Sequoia was silent. I said what i had to say, Filbert thought, if he wants to kill me, so be it, but he will always feel the guilt. The guilt of killing a weak fool. A weak fool who was made a weak fool by his friends, his mates. his mates who didn't really seem his friends. Filbert shut his eyes, and waited for a final blow. OOC: I hope that was convincing. If not, kill Filbert. I'm making that script, ecause I'm building a new website. The website will be the home for the Flight Simulator 2004 Clan which i'm setting up together with a friend. in order to get members, i made a form for them to fill out. now I have to make it work with this script. First i tried using custom scripts by others, but as they all returned errors and it all just didn't function proparly, I made my own. Anyway, when making my own scripts, I know exactly what it is that I'm writing there. When I use other's scripts, i usually don't. Its the same with BoA. I prefer making my own scripts, even though a certian script already exists. -------------------- Play and rate my scenarios: Where the rivers meet View my upcoming scenario: The Nephil Search: Escape. I'm trying to make a script which will automatically send me an email upon the registration of a member. the email will include all information Entered at a form (which i made myself too). now comes the thing I don't understand: Even if you fill out the whole form, it keep saying that you didn't retype the password. The script is below: I was hoping that one of you may know what's wrong. If you want to give it a better look, I can send you the script together with the form it comes with. -------------------- Play and rate my scenarios: Where the rivers meet View my upcoming scenario: The Nephil Search: Escape. Yes, that problem is what i had with my own PC. Being made in the backroom of some computer shop... we'll say some parts were loose *cough*. At a certain point my computer just froze after five minutes, also during start-up, in safe mode, we tried everything. Eventually we brought it to the shop. The man opened it, and the cooling fan simply dropped out. It wasn't attached proparly, and it didn't cool. The processor's heat (a Celeron...) simply caused the fan to melt down and drop off. And yueah, the good 'ol OS's as they once were. Without all the extra crap which make them unstable (or at least some of the OS's currently available). I played it for about three months. Then I quit. not just because I thought the game sucked (Okay, i admit it, it sucks), but mostly because of reasons that are not your business. lets just say that I discovered that there's more to the world. Apart from that, the community is simply outrageselously stupid, for reasons portrayed in the previous post. And this was my second reason to quit. The third reason was that it got simply immensely boring. And to be honest, the non-member world is very dull in comparison to the member world, or so I hear. Its just that I don't want to pay to be a member. I'd much rather buy a game for 50 euros which i can play whenenver I want, and forever, then a game which per year will cost me the same price, but will be only available for a year. -------------------- Play and rate my scenarios: Where the rivers meet View my upcoming scenario: The Nephil Search: Escape.
