Agreed. Win2k is basically XP Light. Same great OS, less of a resource hog. :P

Edit: Before you Mac-lovers get on my case, great is a relative term. Besides, I use both anyway. I'm a proud owner of a dual-booting MacBook Pro. :P

If I hadn't already known this, a "welcome to the dark side, have a cookie" would be appropriate.

As is, all I can do is laugh. :D

ME was definitely a blight. XP has its problems, though, especially when it comes to configuring wireless software and virus checker/firewall suites. Ech. But hey - what can you do?

Dual boot you say? I managed to make my Intel imac dual boot too. What program did you use to put windows on it (at least I presume it is windows you put on it)?

Did you always own a Mac, or is it new for you?

I used Boot Camp. It really is the best choice because it burns a CD with all the drivers you need. The only other additional software that I needed to install for Windows to work was Input Remapper. Enabling right-click functionality and adding a delete key are important when running Windows. :P

I just recently got the MacBook Pro (about 3 weeks ago), and about a month before that, I bought an old iBook off a friend. Before that, though, my only experience with Macs was the dinosaurs in the computer lab back when I was in middle school.

That's what surprised me with Apple's "mighty mouse." It actually has two buttons, and not the standard one button. I wondered: is it somehting Apple did because they knew Windows would run on Macs?

Well, that and the fact that Mac OS supports contextual menus now, so a second mouse button is a handy thing to have even if you're not planning to run Windows.

The one thing that I really wish could be supported in Windows on my MacBook is the touchpad gestures. It seems odd that tapping the touchpad in Windows doesn't act as a click when it does for every PC laptop I have ever used.

Mighty Mice are quite nice I find. Too bad they're not wireless yet. They don't have actual buttons as such, but they somehow distinguish (quite reliably) between which side of the mouse you press on. And they have a small middle button which works really well as an all-directional scroll ball, plus a side 'squeeze button' for a total of four effective buttons. You can remap the buttons to do whatever you want. The default is for tapping the tiny scroll ball to bring up the Dashboard, which was driving me nuts, so I turned that off.

EDIT: Ah, joy, the wireless MM has just arrived. Thanks, Steve.
