I tried what you suggested, but it doesn't seem to work. It's still very slow. Also reinstalling has no affect. Yesterday I installed the systemupdate of 10.4.8. Guess what. All Avernum games run extremely sluggishly, to the extent that it's hardly playable (I didn't testAvernum 4, though. I only tested Averum 1, 2, 3 and BoA). It's mainly the fighting, shooting arrows and such, which has gotten painfully slow. Would anybody know how to work this out? I didn't have any problems previously, in 10.4.7. "WtRM is supposed to be mildly amateurish" I was wondering about this statement... "Suypposed to be" as in "because it was made by Thralni" or as in "Because it's a first try?" -------------------- Play and rate my scenarios: Where the rivers meet View my upcoming scenario: The Nephil Search: Escape. I did that, didn't I? The third parameter in between the brackets (1 at the first call, 2 at the second), is the item class. -------------------- Play and rate my scenarios: Where the rivers meet View my upcoming scenario: The Nephil Search: Escape. I don't know if I'll by a complete book to do just one pittyfull installation, though. But thanks, I'll keep it in mind. I might be able to lend it at the library. EDIT: I just found out that there is a GUI of the program I tried to install. I downloadd it and it works perfectly now. Thanks anyhow. I want a script to check whether there is a specific item on a specific spot, but I didn't find the right call. I only found "item_of_class_on_spot" and that was basically it. is there the call i want (a call to check whether a specific items was put on a specific spot), or will I have to do it with the item_of_class call? -------------------- Play and rate my scenarios: Where the rivers meet View my upcoming scenario: The Nephil Search: Escape. Oh my god, hoe stupid. i changed the place of the gates, because Nikki told me that would be better, adn I forgot to change the coordinates of the gates in the script. goign to change that right away. I really am very sorry... EDIT Fixed it and put up the new version. You don't have to replace the whole scenario file, though. You can just drag the fixed script (t10castlentr.txt) with your old script. Okay, thanks. Now for the second problem. If it all works that way, then why is the su saying "sorry" after typing my password and pressing enter. i can't imagine that I type in the wrong password, for I have but one account on this computer. Am I missing something here? -------------------- Play and rate my scenarios: Where the rivers meet View my upcoming scenario: The Nephil Search: Escape. Give us your drek! For a certain program I have to use commandlines in order to get it installed. The problem is not so much that i don't know what to type, the problem is, is when I want to enter the password for the admin account, so i can install the program, it asks for a password. I can't enter it for some reason. When i type, nothing appears in terminal. The only key that seems to work is "enter," which i don't need before entering the password. Anybody understand this? -------------------- Play and rate my scenarios: Where the rivers meet View my upcoming scenario: The Nephil Search: Escape. Give us your drek! So does my site actually work yet? I received your email about the new login details, but it says the host is still the same. Does that mean that "thralni.ermarian.net" is still the domain of my website? When i try to access it now, it says that, except for some things, all is "forbidden on this server." I'm confused. -------------------- Play and rate my scenarios: Where the rivers meet View my upcoming scenario: The Nephil Search: Escape. Give us your drek! Though WtRM is just released, I'll already comment on it by saying what i don't like: The plot. It's too standard. For the rest i'd tried to give some characters in the scenario something a bit more special, that at least the key characters stand out a bit more. I don't have anything to say yet about my second scenario. -------------------- Play and rate my scenarios: Where the rivers meet View my upcoming scenario: The Nephil Search: Escape. This morning I found a tiny bug, which isn't really a bug, but just something that could make it a bit difficult for some players to do a certain quest. I corrected this, and uploaded the new files. If you downloaded my scenario before I made this post, I recommend downloading the scenario again, just to make sure. Sorry for this small inconvenience. Now you cna start enjoying it. -------------------- Play and rate my scenarios: Where the rivers meet View my upcoming scenario: The Nephil Search: Escape. Give us your drek! Yeah, I know, 18 months.... It took just a bit longer than I thought it would. There were quite some problems with time management. Anyway, i sent it out to SW too, so i hope to see it soon on the "untried and untested scenarios table." EDIT: for me the pages work allright. It says "released" where it previously said "beta testing," downloads work... i don't knoe what your problem might be. Try later is the only thing I can advice you to do. Yes. After about 18 months, my first scenario, Where the River Meet, is released. You can download it at my website: thralni.ermarian.net. Click the button "scenarios," and you will find it soon enough. Both the Mac and Windows versions are available as of today. I hope you enjoy it, and if you have any comments on bugs, typos or whatever, please mail me about it. Don't post it here please, as I might not see it. My email adress is B.J.van.Soldt (AT) inter.nl.net. Good luck. if you have questions, I first of all refer you to either one of the "Hints" files. If your question still isn't answered, email me. I hoep you enjoy this scenario. I worked hard on it, though you must not forget that this is only a first attempt at designing. it may be good, it may suck bigtime. It's your opinion, and I'd like to hear it. Thanks to everybody who helped me out: Ash and Drakey for plot advice; Thuryl, Kelandon and some others for answering my coding-questions; and the betatesters. Of the betatesters, I'd like to give my special thanks Nikki, who sacrificed much of his time to help me finish this work. Have fun, and good luck. People, Nikki's intentions with this thread was not only to show off your poem/story/whatever, but you also had to comment on previously shown works made by fellow members. Until now only i and the green dragon (Riibu?) did that. -------------------- Play and rate my scenarios: Where the rivers meet View my upcoming scenario: The Nephil Search: Escape. Though I would like to choose all accept the combat option, I chose the "good plot" option, as it's a sort of summary of all the rest in my opinion (well, actually not, but who cares anyway). -------------------- Play and rate my scenarios: Where the rivers meet View my upcoming scenario: The Nephil Search: Escape.
