The seriousness of his post is being greatly decreased by the " :P ," while most posts in which newbs are being smacked about, are just there to smack newbs about. This suggests a joke, which is fine, I guess.

If we take that post of yours as an example in the music by Nioca thread where you made one of those "FYT" type posts, well, I think there is a distinct difference by that post and Nikki's.

EDITed to make the post more serious. :P

My bad, I meant Resfool.

Rezilla will not copy sounds. It does does let me paste sounds, but it then makes something totally weird of it. i don't know what it is, but it is no sound, that is for sure.

EDIT: I was just wondering: is it very difficult or hard to make Graphicadjuster in such a way that it can handle snd resources?

Is this a CD with your music on it? If so, are you releasing it yourself? Also, if it is a CD with your music, what sort of music does it feature?

That's what I wanted to know. Possibly more, no less.

ResEdit is not really free, but the only defence it has against pirating is an annoying timer, that will let you wait before saving anything. It's annoying, but you can use the program.

I wanted to ask this for a long time now, and since there is a topic about it now, i might as well ask: Who knows of a resource editor that will let me meddle with snd resources? Resfool doesn't work with me, ResEdit on my old Mac complains about having too little memory, the free ones don't do the job and the Resorcerer is $128. Is there any other one that I have missed maybe?

It's looking very good. Word wrap works well with me. All the dialogue things work with me, making of scripts according to templates works... So yeah, everything works fine. I'm on OS 10.4.9. Only thing until now that didn't seem to work is the naming of code snippets. I get the option to change the name, but it doesn't remeber what i type. For example:

I want Snippet 1 to be "Custom strings," but when I type that in, it immediatly reverts to "Snippet 1"

I don't know yet if I will be using it instead of textWrangler, as I'm extremely fond of that program. I might be using this program as a last check app, where i check things and correct everything last minute.

*Looks Ascript over again*

I might throw out TextWrangler anyhow, you know... This program has real good stuff in it. It will take some getting used too, though.

#1: Coming back from the dead is not of much use, I'm afraid. Ephesos will just send him back, and again, untill he destroys Lazarus' corps. And when he still returns, Ephesos casts repel spirit. Winner: Ephesos.

#2: Infernal and Alec are insulting, so only by insulting each other normally, we will get nowhere. However, Alec's faith is Mohammed Ali, Infernal is from isreal. Now there I see a problem for Alec. Infernal will probably gladly insult Alec for having this faith and Alec will not like that, so he will start insulting too. This will also get us nowhere, it seems. Alec, in the end, will show some bloody awfull pictures at Infernal, who will get blind, and Alec will stab her. Winner: Alec. *sigh*

#3: Music is so much better than any cult. Having written a lot of SW episodes will make Nico laugh, only. Nico will start with a stabbing attack, while throwing cookies around her as a distraction, which will not work. Dikiyoba has an outstanding memory, and for that she will always remember very well that her target is Nico. Besides, Dinosaurs are more powerfull than Sherbiebaby, and nothing will stop that. Winner: Dikiyoba.

#4: Ugh. I was afraid for this. Puns will not work with me. I detest them, and will just throw them back. I'll get me some chicken aid to help me throw them back, so I don't get swarmed by all the bad puns. Problem is, that Thuryl has so many of them, that one time or an other I might get tired of throwing them back. So this might work out for Thuryl, but as I'm a Nephil, and therefor swift, I will try to attack Thuryl first. And otherwise I'll simply fly. Thuryl on the other hand, knows quite a lot of animals, meaning he might know how it is that i can fly, and will make it so that I can't fly anymore. He will point out to me that cats can't fly. After that, he'll probably swarm me with emoticons, whome I learned to live with. So, although it may be get a bit yellow around me, I will not succumb to that.

Honestly, I could go on with this for some time, but I have no idea who the winner is...

#5: Synergy understand people's thinking. That is stronger than anything else. Winner: Synergy.

#6: Guardian against ranger. Tyranicus will start throwing javelins. Then he will throw more javelins. Then he will suddenly die, like always. Winner: magma.

#7: Riibu will make herself invisible, but Alex has RW, who will make Riibu visible again. Chaos will not really work, because Alex will make a stick figure drawing of Riibu, show it to her, and it will calm her down, maybe make her laugh. Alex will then summon a lot of stick figures, who will bind Riibu's hand and feet together, and carry her away. Winner: Alex.

#8: Oh god. I have no idea.

Oh Nico! Welcome back. So either one of the three diseases you mentioned is healed, or shouldn't we get too excited?

The music sounds very nice. Did you compose it yourself, or did you only play it? I assume you also composed, but I'd like to be on the safe side.

Garage Band's loops you say. yeah, I remember those. I tried the program myself, but didn't get very far, as I don't have a keyboard. I should maybe try to use the microphone option...

While most of the wins went the way of the voting and reasoning, two of the winners actually had less votes overall. In Nikki vs. Nemesis, Nikki had 82% of the votes, but it was Nemesis who won.
No, Nioca, you don't understand the point. I'm not talking about Slartucker. He did his job with, for me at least, surprising objectiveness for all I can say. It's the others, us, normal members, I talk about. What Zeviz said is exactly what I meant. He usually voted for the ones he liked. I understand his motives, and I don't say I did it any different. I voted for Nikki, and why? Because I like and respect him. It's human nature I suppose, but don't say the voting part by members is objective. It's not.

Calling it a popularity contest isn't really a good description, in hindsicht, but it's certainly based on member's popularities, which is why I was so surprised to win at round one.

I didn't vote for Muffin, for the same reason as Zeviz didn't.

Nikki: Calm down, okay? There are several members here like Nioca and Nicothodes and Nemesis, that I, for one reason or another, can't "hold apart" (couldn't think of any better way to say it in English; this is in fact a Dutch way to say it...), which means I forget about sexs. Sorry for that, but it happens to me a lot. I had the same problem with Latin words, mind you: rex, regnum, regina... Mix them all up once in a while.

If you look at the overal ratings, it should be quite apparent that the more populair people and some of the oldbies actually do get more votes. When a person has to vote, and doesn't know exactly who to choose, who will he choose? The well-known oldbie, or the not-known newbe? Besides, not a lot of people chose for, for example, Muffin, and I wonder if that's because they really thik he wouldn't have won it, or that there prime argument is that he is annoying.

Muffin, could you please stop acting this way? It's extremely annoying. It is more than clear now that you want to win, and yes, it is a popularity contest, but still: you have made your point more than clear. Now it's time to shut up. All you are doing now is reducing your chance of winning.

Please, take this deathmatch business as something for fun, not something that your life depends on, okay?

#1: I'm not sure if Jewels is up too the crashing powers of WKS. He seems to be quite rough a child to handle. On the other hand, I think Jewels is an excellent parent, who can even hush WKS up. Winner: Jewels.

#2: Piece of cake. Ash Lael will win: The christian music will make Smoo and rats deaf, so they can't communicate proparly, and then he will attack Smoo entirely by surprise. However, if Smoo can throw some wall ogres at Ash sooner than he can attack, Ash might be in trouble. For reasons I already stated (Smoo being disoriented), Ash will win.

#3: Goldenking will have shot Zephyr with his golden gun long befor Zephyr can even start summoning one of his crazy armies.

#4: Although Marlenny will try to dominate Nico, Nico will stay calm and deal some considerable damage with one of his pencils: Nico wins.

#5: Muffins are tasy. Demon muffins are probably even tastier. Magma wins.

#6: Nobody really knows what can harm MM, as he is so mysterious, so while Zeviz is thinking what a good weapon might be, MM has already attacked and killed him.

#7: While Niemand begins programming a SoT killer thingy, SoT starts thinking of one-liners. Both will be ready at the same time though, and while Niemands program is beating the hell out of SoT, Niemand goes to the nearest pub andgets himself a drink. Niemand wins.

#8: How can you attack what you can't see? With Homeland! Order it today! *cough* So basically, Riibu's invisibility won't have much use. She will have to use her chaos attack, which will take the Lurker entirely by surprise... well, no, it won't. Because of such an amount of chaos coming at him, he silently starts lurking, waiting until Riibu gets tired and worn out. Then he beats the crap out of Riibu. TL wins.

Spoon feeding the player: clues in Blades of Avernum
Master
Member # 5977
Profile Homepage #21
At the moment I'm thinking of giving the player an option in difficulty:

- clueless
- clues

This will give the player directions and alarm them of clues. This way you can choose for yourself if you want to think about the clues given to you, or that it is told to you by me. However, with clues, I think most of you have no idea what I'm talking about. "Not knowing where to go" is really not a problem in TNS. I fear that most of you have no idea what TNS is about anyway, otherwise I wouldn't have received comments about the way the party should go. TNS is very lineair, in fact. It is at the present moment, anyway.

The puzzle part will be difficult for some, for others not. It's the same with Bahs: Some found the laserpuzzle difficult, others not. When I talk about puzzles, you must not think of lever puzzles or laserpuzzles, though. I can assure you they will not be in TNS. I'm trying to think of puzzles that are new and not done before.

At the moment I have three puzzles: One to cross a river and you should make a bridge (which is not really puzzle, anyway), one because I liked the idea, and one other again to cross a river, but this one is combat based. I can imagine I will put at least one more puzzle of this sort. Of these three, I think the second is the only one of which the basic principle is well knoen. However, I added stuff to make it mor einteresting, and more of a challenge.

All the puzzles I just mentioned don't require too much clues, though. What I wanted the clues for, is for trying to let the player figure out who put all these puzzles there. They are there with a reaosn, of course, and somebody put them there. You are the one to figure out who. For this you don't need me telling you where to go, and places where there might be confusion, I will be giving a hint anyway.

And kelandon, please, of all people. You are the one to put that laserbeam puzzle in Bahs that people found too difficult. I cleared it in about five minutes, but most people took just a bit more time. I also found it a puzzle which was just there to be a puzzle, with no apparent reason other than making it more difficult to get to the triangle. The fact that you dislike puzzles so strongly is also quite evident of the enormous amounts of tedious hack 'n slash in Bahs, and, according to others (I didn't play it yet), Exodus too.

The BoE style dialogue will be clearly explained in the readme, along with all other stuff I want to mention explicitly. For example, I will put in the readme file in which order you have the ask question. An example:

not "statue", but "cave", "statue" => first mention where you were, then what you found. I think it will be quite clear.

If there are any more questions concerning the puzzles or clues, I will be glad to answer them. I do want to ask people to stop asking about walkthroughs: there WILL, of course, be one there, and I already said this.

EDIT: Incomplete sentence.
