I protest! But not against losing, that I can live with. I protest against laughing at the stick figures/cartoons/pointless jokes. They're fine in my opinion, but (sorry Alex) they're not funny at all. A bit too simplistic to my taste, and anyway I've never liked inside jokes very much. So there. And now we can return back to the scheduled judging. -------------------- Pannaan kaikki hippulat vinkumaan! ^_^ Ooh! #1: Coming back from the dead is not of much use, I'm afraid. Ephesos will just send him back, and again, untill he destroys Lazarus' corps. And when he still returns, Ephesos casts repel spirit. Winner: Ephesos. #2: Infernal and Alec are insulting, so only by insulting each other normally, we will get nowhere. However, Alec's faith is Mohammed Ali, Infernal is from isreal. Now there I see a problem for Alec. Infernal will probably gladly insult Alec for having this faith and Alec will not like that, so he will start insulting too. This will also get us nowhere, it seems. Alec, in the end, will show some bloody awfull pictures at Infernal, who will get blind, and Alec will stab her. Winner: Alec. *sigh* #3: Music is so much better than any cult. Having written a lot of SW episodes will make Nico laugh, only. Nico will start with a stabbing attack, while throwing cookies around her as a distraction, which will not work. Dikiyoba has an outstanding memory, and for that she will always remember very well that her target is Nico. Besides, Dinosaurs are more powerfull than Sherbiebaby, and nothing will stop that. Winner: Dikiyoba. #4: Ugh. I was afraid for this. Puns will not work with me. I detest them, and will just throw them back. I'll get me some chicken aid to help me throw them back, so I don't get swarmed by all the bad puns. Problem is, that Thuryl has so many of them, that one time or an other I might get tired of throwing them back. So this might work out for Thuryl, but as I'm a Nephil, and therefor swift, I will try to attack Thuryl first. And otherwise I'll simply fly. Thuryl on the other hand, knows quite a lot of animals, meaning he might know how it is that i can fly, and will make it so that I can't fly anymore. He will point out to me that cats can't fly. After that, he'll probably swarm me with emoticons, whome I learned to live with. So, although it may be get a bit yellow around me, I will not succumb to that. Honestly, I could go on with this for some time, but I have no idea who the winner is... #5: Synergy understand people's thinking. That is stronger than anything else. Winner: Synergy. #6: Guardian against ranger. Tyranicus will start throwing javelins. Then he will throw more javelins. Then he will suddenly die, like always. Winner: magma. #7: Riibu will make herself invisible, but Alex has RW, who will make Riibu visible again. Chaos will not really work, because Alex will make a stick figure drawing of Riibu, show it to her, and it will calm her down, maybe make her laugh. Alex will then summon a lot of stick figures, who will bind Riibu's hand and feet together, and carry her away. Winner: Alex. #8: Oh god. I have no idea. EDIT: Dang quote instead of edit button. But to lend this post some semblance of usefulness, a katamari vs. a Chaos Attack would probably be interesting to see. quote:Die. Was that brief enough? :P ... 1 — Lazarus vs. Ephesos Ephesos really really really hates the undead. Lazarus hates being dead. Repel. Resurrect. Repeat. This contest has no forseeable end. I’m tempted to call it a draw, but the dogged antidead antipathy of Ephesos eventually tires out even the not quite dead yet. 2 — Infernal vs. Alec Kyras “You die. The girl dies. Everybody dies.” Alec triumphs through the savage strength of his convictions...but mostly by assaulting Infernal with a new, super closeup photo in which his nostril hairs can be accurately numbered. 3 — Nicothodes vs. Dikiyoba To the soothing sounds of cello death metal, Nicothodes jabs Diki the Dino with a rather cute pencil, but Dikiyoba grabs the pencil and jots off a short bit in which the Infernal Rat is resurrected to do her bidding. The rat is not daunted by terminal cuteness, and worse, Nico just had a cheese sandwich for lunch. 4 — Thralni vs. Thuryl Thralni quickly clobbers the nihilst from down under with surprisingly damaging produce, but is severely offended in the process. Thralni bolts off to lick his wounded ego, and Thuryl, severely pummeled, fails to feel any sensation of his own injuries. 5 — Delicious Vlish vs. Synergy A worthy match. DeVlish casts Terror, but Martha, I mean Valeta, er, Pepe Le Pew, or rather, Synergy, has a strong sympathetic response to this emotion of heightened anxiety and stands his/her ground, rubbing his chin and nodding his head in morbid fascination. DeVlish casts Daze, but Synergy has already entered a trancelike state using crystals in preparing for this battle, and there is little observable difference. Skunky Synergy says submit or go mad! Vlishy takes some hardcore baton damage, but does not submit, and flashes his tentacles in his most beguiling fashion. Synergy has no choice but to start preparing dinner by carving up tender Vlish flesh with some freshly sharpened New Age Buzzwords. There is no homeopathic remedy for the ensuing madness inflicted by a new dissertation on whether or not God evolves. In the end, true to his word, Vlish makes a very tasty lunch. 6 — Magma Dragoon vs. Tyranicus. Never underestimate a woad-addled Celt. Even if Tyranicus does sound a lot more like a Dinosaur Roman dictator, the Dragoon proves to be no match for this Hero of Old. 7 — Riibu vs. Archmage Alex But they are both so delightful. Almost any other opponent would die laughing, but apparently the inscrutible Finnish are immune to odd and absurd American whimsy. Alex summons a stick figure army of minions to do his bidding, but Riibu goes invisible. Alex surrounds himself with his army, and Riibu exhausts herself to death trying to force her way through the painfully pointy pack of stick-people, all the while protesting how terribly unfunny they are. Alex draws an especially funny cartoon (if you’re not Finnish) to celebrate his victory. Riibu is not around to find it especially unfunny. 8 — Saunders vs. Schrodinger Never underestimate the sturdy, patient staying power of a fluffily cute mother allied with similarly slow, yet savage turtles. Anyone who can survive the harrows of many a poo-bomb can shrug off the less than fatal FAQiness of Schrodinger. Saunders secures her victory when Schro stops to bend down and pet one of the approaching fluffy turtles. Schro succumbs. The steaming pool of estrogen that is Spiderweb bubbles happily in approval. -S- [ Saturday, May 05, 2007 17:43: Message edited by: Synergy ] -------------------- A4 Items • A4 Singleton • G4 Items • G4 Forging • G4 Infiltrator • N:R Items • The Lonely Celt • A5 Items • A5 Map Posts: 2009 | Registered: Monday, September 12 2005 07:00 |

1 — Lazarus vs. Ephesos Lazarus fills a BoA scenario with an undead-spawning trap, but leaves off a vital set_flag() call, meaning it never stops creating zombies. Despite Ephesos knowing how to fix the problem, he is so infuriated by the creation of the undead, he goes beserk, and thus dies under a wave of decaying flesh. Lazarus wins. 2 — Infernal vs. Alec Alec declares that Israel is an illegal state, and it prompty vanishes. Infernal never gets born, and thus Alec wins by default. 3 — Nicothodes vs. Dikiyoba Nico has pencils, cuteness, and 'cellos. Diki doesn't. Also, Diki said she'd never write another script, thus losing her trump card. As Nico lunges at Diki, Diki calls for her Cult, only to realise that all Cult Members are only there to watch Diki die and to maybe seize power, if they feel like it. Diki goes the way of her beloved dinosaurs and dies at the end of Nicothodes pencil. 4 — Thralni vs. Thuryl Thuryl reads from an old thread and inflicts 31 different medical ailments on Thralni, before deciding to infect Thralni with bird 'flu. Thuryl wins. 5 — Delicious Vlish vs. Synergy Both contestants spar for a while, but there is no clear winner. Then, Thuryl, fresh from his bout with Thralni, shouts something at Synergy, who promptly edits out any moves he made, thus restoring Delicious Vlish. Delicious Vlish then shows Synergy the wrong side of a tentacle slap, and wins. Edit: 6 — Magma Dragoon vs. Tyranicus. Tyran has woad. Magma has plate armour. No contest there. Magma is a nice guy, and Italian. Tyran, on the other hand, is fast on his feet, and doesn't do homework. It's close. Then, Tyran gets drunk after finding a bottle of vodka, and imagines some Faeiries into existance. They quickly pound Magma into submission. Drinking, and Tyranicus., win the round. 7 — Riibu vs. Archmage Alex 8 — Saunders vs. Schrodinger [ Monday, May 07, 2007 09:55: Message edited by: saunders ] -------------------- Nikki's Nook - we are the dollars and cents, and the pounds and pence. Most of the matches are self explanatory, and the poll results seem decided. Match 6 - currently tied. Tyranicus wields the power of Nethergate, which is greater than the protective powers of Magma-mom. Match 7 - Let's explain something here. Curves always beat stick figures. End of match. Match 8 - currently tied. saunders edited this post to reflect her certain victoRY! Edited so as not to boost post count, and because you seem to wish it: Schrodinger is every kind of awesome. Plus he has, or did have, a cute beard. [ Tuesday, May 08, 2007 03:41: Message edited by: saunders ] -------------------- Synergy, et al - "I don't get it." Argon - "I'm at a loss for words..." Sorry for the delay folks... I have been really busy at work this week and haven't had much free time. That will continue at least until Friday, so expect to see results and round 2.2 maybe Friday. The response volumes suggest that others also find it tiring to compose thoughtful analyses, so perhaps this is a good break all around. -------------------- Slarty vs. Desk • Desk vs. Slarty • Timeline of Ermarian • G4 Strategy Central "Slartucker is going to have a cow when he hears about this," Synergy said. Man, this has been dying, and is not ready to die. I have one comment. On Delicious Vish vs. Synergy, Synergy's infiltrator ally is not only powerful, she has the ur-drakon with her. Actually, I graduated in 2005. I have been sick, and busy. I have a little time now but haven't had the energy to do a decent job on the results, and I don't want to be half-assed about it. Was this tournament almost forgotten? Anyway, on Dikiyoba vs. Nicothodes, Dikiyoba throws out the three episodes thus getting Nicothodeses attention. She then writes out a false fourth episode, getting Nicothodes so busy that (he/she) doesn't notice as Dikiyoba go in for the kill. The irony about this is that it's been done before (in a manner of speaking), I was on the list of contenders as well, but the thing didn't live long enough for me to actually be in a match then either. <_< -------------------- The Noble and Ancient Order of Polaris - We're Not Yet Dead.
