Wow. You guys do me proud.

I feel kinda lame that I continue to not continue, but I think it will continue. I have been really overwhelmed with work and that will continue for the rest of the month. Although we have no summer vacation, it's still the end of the year for us and there are a huge number of things to plan and do. On top of that there's a lot of staff turnover to deal with, and I may end up in one of several different positions. I'm also moving (twice -- the group I work with is moving for the summer, and then I am moving myself), and then at the end of the month I'll be gone entirely for a week. So, the not continuing will likely continue.

Then we have no choice but to offer you a continuance.

...

Meanwhile, Alex outdoes himself again, and I am greatful my stomach was not wholly filled when viewing his latest off(er)ing.

I know I predicted his stick figure army would overwhelm Ice Princess Riibu ultimately. One day we will know if it was so.

WARNING: The stick figures are mesmerizing. Don't get sucked into staring at them for hours on end.

Best wishes on your summer, isn't this pretty much everything you had hoped it would be?

Yes, we should talk sometime. Dang time zones!

Well, Mr. Slarticus, sir, how about this: If you find 2 minutes here and there to occasionally post, why not go through the matches one at a time? You can think about who is going to win match one while you are driving to work to work or something. Then, the next time you have 5 seconds to come here, just tell us about that match. A day or two later, when you next have time, you could give us match two, and so on and so forth.

I am surprised he hasn't noticed this.

I am also surprised that this hasn't been judged yet.
It is not that hard.

This has gone unjudged for so long, people are starting to forget about it.

Judge it already!

Slarty, since you're obviously never going to get around to doing this, would you mind if someone else took it over?

If only I could email him.

However, someone else will have to contact him.
This has dragged on long enough!!!

Do it before so many 1337s come that UBB eats this whole forum!

I will get around to it. Eventually.

In the meanwhile, if eventually looks to be more than a month away, I'll consider Thuryl's suggestion.

Actually, it takes quite a while if you take it seriously, and there are a number of ancillary tasks to attend to as well.

Muffin, when
- you are talking to someone who has relevant experience
- you don't have relevant experience
- you repeat the same thing over and over
- you have already gotten a response, but continue

people are likely to find you annoying...

I don't get it.

Anyway, I don't think you can really use the poll at all very much. The reason is that ignorant (or idiotic) newbs will vote (and never really see the posts of the people included), and they will choose whoever they feel like.

There are probably many who have done so.

Muffin, here's a good rule of thumb.

DO NOT REPLY TO EVERY SINGLE POST.

Hundreds of people read these boards every day. The posts are intended for everyone. You are not the collective typist of everyone. So don't reply to all of them.

Here's another good rule of thumb:

DO NOT KEEP REPLYING TO THE SAME THREAD OVER AND OVER. If you have a lot to say, say it all in one post. If you keep having new ideas, that is a sign that your first post was premature. Wait for your ideas to be fully formed before you thrust them on hundreds of other people!

I suppose it's too little too late, but here's my thoughts on who would win.

Ephesos vs. Lazarus: There's one factor that seems to be forgotten here: Cold. Lazarus is comfortable with it, and instantly drops the temperature of the arena below freezing. Not only does Ephesos start suffering intense exhaustion and frostbite, but all of his crickets turn into cricketcicles as well. Ephesos still manages to fire off a Retribution, but Lazarus gets back up. As shown in Dikiyoba's stories, he can only use it once. But that's all he needs. Lazarus invokes the power of a pre-made party, promptly sapping all of Ephesos's magical ability. Ephesos is left with no form of combat ability and is left helpless as the roars of the deadly beast of the rim come closer.

WINNER: IMAGE(http://i128.photobucket.com/albums/p188/Nioca/bluebeast.gif) (and by extension, Lazarus)

Infernal vs. Alec: Alec seems to have become quite tame lately. And the Demonslayer is a magnificent weapon (in A4).

WINNER: INFERNAL

Nicothodes vs. Dikiyoba: Dikiyoba overwhelms Nicothodes with her dazzling array of unusual-yet-deadly weapons. Nicothodes falls in short order to a bizarrely-named array of Fyora relatives.

WINNER: DIKIYOBA

Thralni vs. Thuryl: Thuryl's main weapon has no affect, whilst Thralni summons several Senarti and a massive scenario to protect him. He then starts tossing explosive potions down at him from a safe distance. Unfortunately, Thralni starts becoming confused and offended by the Deathmatch and Thuryl's antics. Thralni falls back to the ground, where Thuryl's moons and Kool-Aid deliver lethal damage. But, in Thralni's last breaths, he reveals the true name of the Senarti.

WINNER: THRALNI

Delicious Vlish vs. Synergy: Synergy fires a massive bolt of ice, obliterating Vlish before he can even react.

WINNER: SYNERGY

MagmaDragoon vs. Tyranicus: Magma starts off immediately overpowering Tyranicus. Unfortunately for Magma, Tyranicus has a secret weapon on his side. It is not Tyranicus, but Andraste that delivers the fatal blow.

WINNER: TYRANICUS

Riibu vs. Archmage Alex: Riibu would be able sneak up on and Chaos Attack Alex before he managed to summon a sufficient number of stick figures to protect him. Unfortunately for Riibu, Alex is the incarnation of Chaos, and thus unaffected.

WINNER: ARCHMAGE ALEX

Saunders vs. Schrodinger: Saunders may be cuddly, but there's a bit of evil in her. Schrodinger never sees it coming.

WINNER: SAUNDERS

I see that proclamation as being horribly shortsighted. Nioca lacks the depth and breadth of knowledge that can only be acquired over years of observation. Slarty does as well, but it's his gig and he could beat up Nioca.

Winner : Slartifer!
